Quick find code: 55-56-215-65517746
I run into the middle of the arena, where a large treasure chest has just appeared. The dark wooden container is edged with gold, which also makes up the question mark emblazoned on the lid.
I open the box, causing a distorted light to spill out. Reaching in, I retrieve what appears to be a small white envelope. As quickly as it appeared, the box vanishes.
I open the letter finding it to be a picture of what appears to be a fishbowl.
"Wha...?" Is all I can manage before the walls of the arena suddenly and inexplicably turn to glass. The background behind it is blurry but it seems to be in some kind of room. The ground is replaced by thick gravel, with giant fake pond-weeds made of plastic placed here and there. There's one area that's particularly concentrated, more like a forest.
Suddenly, water begins cascading down the sides. Soon enough we all find ourselves submerged in increasingly deep water, however it seems some odd enchantment has been placed on it that allows us to breathe, also the pressure doesn't seem to be having much effect.
A giant shipwreck has appeared at one end of the arena. It is most likely a plaster model, given how crudely painted it is. At the other end, a giant skull has appeared with treasure spilling out, also probably a plaster model.
To top it all off, a giant plastic bag floating at the top of the tank is cut open, releasing a myriad of dolphin sized goldfish, koi the size of small whales, minnows as big as sheep, and a catfish the size of a cow (which proceeds to begin sucking around the glass walls)
I observe the chaos unfolding around me, suddenly realizing that most of my magical attacks are now useless.
"Well...that's just great."
Secondly, even if there were to be any sardines, they would be, as already mentioned, giant sardines. I'm talking shark/dolphin sized.
Anyway, pedantic rambling aside...
I want to use lightning magic, but that would mean harming all of the fish. So instead I swim up to a giant koi.
It's orange and red, mostly, with blotches of yellow and white on its underside shaped sort of like flames. it also has black flame-like blotches tipping all of its fins including the tail. between the black tips and orange is oddly, a line of emerald green. it has unusually long barbels for a koi, spanning half the length of its body, with the same colors as its fins.
"Wait just a sec," I say, before swimming up to near the surface.
Some pellets have appeared, each being about the size of a barrel, floating on the reflective surface. I grab one and swim back down, tossing it to the fish. It swallows the grub happily, and I direct it to where the rest of the food is.
After a while, Mad Guy can see the giant orca-sized koi coming back down, the only difference being that I'm sitting on top of it.
"No, no, we don't eat people." I tell the fish. "This is Mad Guy. He's not an enemy...at least I hope not."
*watches everyone die from the balcony*
*looks at the bottle in his hands*
God, I love this poison.
╗ 1st Uruk Hai ź
At least he didn't nuke the thread.
"GAAAH! Poison in the water!"
Before Mad Guy can react, the koi sweeps down, catching him on its back and darting up to the surface with both of us hanging on for dear life.
With a huge sploosh which creates a series of large waves, it ruptures through the surface of the water, straight toward the only exit; the filter.
Unfortunately, being a giant filter, it's more like a waterfall.
With graceful swish of its tail, the fish creates a burst of explosive flames which propels us up all the way inside the large mouth of the filter.
As it continues swimming against the current, the interior, which was very mechanical at the entrance, gives way to a more cave-like environment.
"Well..." I say, after a while, "That was...eventful. Hey Fish, do you have a name?" I ask the koi, which responds by shaking its head a little.
"Oh, can't talk huh. Sine you're a carp, I Guess I'll just call you Magi*."
*Yes, that is a reference. and a foreshadowing.
I am currently inside a cave, on the back of the giant carp I met earlier when I hear an ominous voice...
"Oh no, not him again."
If Mad Guy hasn't left yet, I think we can assume he's about to. In the meantime, Magi keeps on swimming. I absent-minded throw him a pellet, which He gobbles up heartily.
"Sheesh, when do I get an arch-nemesis...huh?"
I see something glinting off in the depths of the cave. Soon enough we come into a large crystalline cavern the walls shimmer with deep spectral hues, and we find ourselves in a large pool...well, more like an underground lake. waterfalls dotted around the cave walls indicate the source of the water, and in the middle of the pool is...A traditional japanese gate. Made of gold, it seems.
Just then, I hear something outside which soon escalates to the unmistakable symphony of eon's worth of dark and fiery destruction. Ah, a typical day in Forum Fight.
As if in response, Magi swims even faster, darting straight through the large gate...well, just about fitting at least.
"Whoa!" I shout, having to jump up and over the top of the gate lest I be knocked off due to the carp's humongous size. At the same time, the gate and the carp seem to glow slightly, as if power were being passed through one to the other.
Before he can react, a loud explosion of flame launches me out of the cave. rocketing through the air, I spread my arms out and pretend to flap them like wings (I mean, why not?) whilst laughing, something rather out of character for me.
I tuck my arms in and fall directly into the path of the flames, seemingly being engulfed. However, the flames instead all get sucked up, and the cause soon becomes apparent, me having absorbed them all. I appear to be in some pain, but I try to bear it as black flames start appearing around me.
"Ow...ooow...not sure if absorbing dark flames was such a great idea..."
I do, however, manage to keep in the air. I try to convert the flames into ones I can use easily.
"You think you can win Forum Fight in one shot? Very well. I challenge you!"
*nods to Lady Zion* "Nice attack back there."

Also, I thought someone else was using Zamroak, Zaros and Seren. Ah, let's just use the parallel worlds theory.

"You fight Yontyv!" I shout to him, jumping in front of Armadyl, "I'll take care of these 'generals'." The 5 generals surround me.
I open up flame portals around me, and begin pulling out flames, "It seems I have a new trick up my sleeve, and it's time I tried it out."
The fire around me takes on a consistency not unlike water, however it is clear that this is fire, rather than lava.
"Liquid fire!" I form the flames into a 20 metre high wave which I fire not only at Armadyl, but at Saradomin, Zamorak, Zaros and Seren as well. The waves burst outward around me in a circular pattern, however they do not seem to do much damage and are more or less shrugged off.
"Huh..." I conjure two dual-wielding solid-flame-swords, "I guess this is gonna take a little more fire power! Magi?"
Suddenly everyone hears a deafening roar, and even the 5 generals find themselves turning toward the source of the noise. Out of the dragon-shaped waterfall cave from earlier, there are several fiery explosions before a great dragon bursts out of the cave mouth. It resembles the dragons from Chinese and Japanese mythology, having a serpentine body, four legs and no wings.
"One sec-" I teleport through a flame portal and appear in front of Pyro, disturbing his nap.
"Hey, there's a really big fight going on right now, wanna join in?"
Magi (the dragon) catches me on his head, and we face toward the generals.
I light a flame in my hand. "Ready when you are."
Acting immediately, I leap off Magi's head, kicking flames out of my foot to propel myself, summoning two solid-flame swords as I fly through the air toward Saradomin. I equip the jet-like fire falcon armor for enhanced speed, then open a portal in front of me and behind me, continually going through them in a constant loop.
Within a few seconds I reach a screaming speed of 300 metres per second, then the portals close and I fly straight past (or possibly through) Saradomin, slashing rapidly with the now pale-blue hot swords. Darting into another portal, I leave his range and while he recovers from my attack, he looks around, only for me to shoot out of another portal, slashing him again and disappearing for a second time. This continues, growing faster and faster until Saradomin is caught in an endless flurry of blindingly fast blue fire-blades.

Hey everyone! Guess what? It's Christmas Eve Eve!
(r)In order to get ready for the Bombastically Ballistic Forum Fight Christmas Special, I go over to the settings, select 'scene', and change the battlefield. We all get teleported (mid battle) to a range of snowy mountains covered in forests of pre-decorated Christmas trees and novelty oversized candy canes of various coloration. It's currently daytime, and snowing lightly.

"Hey, where'd Yontyv go? Gah it's cold, maybe this scene change wasn't such a great idea."
With that, I jump off the edge, calling forth solid-fire boots which I use to melt the snow underneath me for a smooth slide all the way down the mountain. I jump off the surface, landing in a Christmas tree forest, when I see burning through the trees. this is followed by what would be best shown in third person perspective, in such a way that all the viewer sees is me cautiously backing away from a large approaching shadow, the source of which is out of view.
Meanwhile, Pyro and Mad Guy are conversing when suddenly their exchange of information is interrupted by the returning lava titan. Clutched in its unmoving hand by the hood of the cloak, is me, looking rather disheveled.
"I only wanted to make the scene look a little more festive for a while. I don't see how that's a crime." I am then dropped heavily onto the snow, before i stand up and brush some of the ice crystals off by cloak, which I then draw up tighter.
"It's not like the cold never bothered me, anyway. So, were you saying something about a teleportation problem? With fire involved? I...think I might be able to help you out there."
EDIT- Happy New Year!

wonder if anyone realized that "winning in one post" is a huge killjoy for forum fight veterans. can newcomers do ANYTHING besides concluding the fight and calling themselves a victor?
*Jumps in front of Mad Guy*
"Stop acting like an elitist!"

^ i dont find it enjoyable when people try to win in one post like they own the thread. technically, its impossible to win unless one person admits defeat, which is highly unlikely in this thread. i can take highly bizarre moves, but when people say they win without even giving people a chance? that draws the line
Yes, but your reaction is uncalled for and does nothing other than put people off continuing to post on the thread. You're starting to sound like one of those stuck up 'thread veterans' who think that they own the thread just for having been here longer.

Concentrating on the spark I carefully ignite it into a small flame, which I stare into intently. the reflection seems to make me eyes go from brown to glowing orange for a second. "Hmm..."
It's at this point that I notice that one of the titans is approaching me, and I quickly allow the flame to burst into a larger blaze, which i disappear into, before it vanishes.
I suddenly find myself in the middle of the air. As I begin to fall, I summon a set of light plate armour made of solid fire, and use pyrokinesis to make it hold me up, effectively levitating. Looking up, I see the underside of an enormous red rock. looking around me, I see black clouds. Coughing in the thick, heavy atmosphere, I look down and see a field of lava.
My observations are interrupted by a noise. I can just about hear some kind of voices somewhere above me, in a unrecognizable language.
I free-fall down into the lava with a splash and swim away. once I've gotten about 20 metres or so, swimming with my head above the surface and a hood of liquid fire concealing me, I fly out of the lava and into the clouds. approaching the rock, I watch from a safe distance and observe Mad guy and the skeletal being conversing.
Inside, several people wearing lab coats who are most likely medic rush to the victim.
ôAnother one?ö one of them asks. ôWhere are they all coming from?ö
ôA couple of guys are going round killing random people, as usual.ö I reply.
ôOh, Iĺd be careful - the one clutching the charred dessert is fine, but one or both of the other two might be assassins or mercenaries. Thanks, by the way.ö
ôOh itĺs nothing.ö
I walk out of the building and teleport back. One thing you forget when you try to throw people into a pit of flames when thereĺs a flame-teleporting person hiding nearby is that when you expect to see nothing but scorch marks where your victims were before, thatĺ* exactly what youĺre going to see.
Wait...whatĺs this? I think to myself, noting the arrival of the veteran fighter.
Letting my curiosity get the better of me, I summon the flame falcon armour and shoot toward the giant rock, landing and kicking up a cloud of crimson dust.
ôAsh*in.ö I say by way of greeting, *What brings you here? And how did you get - oh, thereĺs no point asking, is there? I expect there was a ladder somewhere.ö
Although I donĺt expect Ash*in would know my character, and of course Pyro wonĺt recognize me with the several centimetres thick helmet of solid fire covering my face.
Generally, although I would normally want to help out in this kind of situation, seeing Pyro's destructive ways and realizing how brutal Mad Guy can be to strangers has made me unsure whether or not to trust them. However all of that is overshadowed (dudum-tsss) upon hearing that the Shadowforger is here. Now an opportunity like this, I can't refuse.
"I hate it when people convince me to do things." I say, following the rest of the party.
"Cool soundtrack, though."
This is starting to put my char. in a difficult position, since I consider Mad Guy an ally (even if in loose terms), but also the people I pick fights with have usually just done something terribly brutal to someone who may well be innocent. Great. Obligatory character development.
"Oh." I say to Ash*in, "She's here. That was what you meant."
As the escaped prisoner and the others get ready for battle, I myself draw two solid, glowing orange swords out of fire, before being clad in light armor of the same material.
Just making sure there isn't enough new information so that you have to start your post again in case you've already started writing it.

As if on cue, thousands of flame portals open around me, Mad Guy, Pyro, Ash*in and the recently escaped prisoner. The needles fly straight into the portals, and more portals open up, redirecting any needles which don't get swallowed up by the immense positive energy in the Phoenix plane will just hit the floor. None of them emerge.
Next, I face my new shadow-forged opponent. With only a moment's hesitation I allow it to begins its assault. however, before it even so much as scratches me, I swing one of the swords around and stab, plunging it into the creature's chest. It clutches in vain at the blade, the light from which slowly destroys it from the inside.
Next, I turn to the shadow-forged attacking Pyro, which has gone unnoticed. I throw both swords, which seem to be projected with almost unnatural accuracy at the dark construction, which dies in the same fashion. The swords fly through the air and I clasp them in my hands again.
I then fashion the two swords into a solid fire shield and follow up Pyro's attack, using it as a cover while I use an explosion to launch myself across the crevice. After the flurry of projectiles from Pyro, as well as the crevice, the Shadow-forger will have to deal with a sudden head-on collision from a shield bash.
EDIT- changes music to The Nightbringer by Peter Crowl*y. Just think the name fits the enemy we're fighting right now pretty well.

All, that is, except one. Well, at least one.
Standing, completely unfazed by the wings, the cloaked pyroconjurer sees the Shadowforger rush toward Ash*in and his other allies, and in a split second, he closes eyes and opens them. For a second the dull brown eyes glow orange, yellow, white, then blue. Then him and the rest of the party disappear in an immense flash of fire, just narrowly avoiding a hail of almost infinitely duplicated reality warping, (reality setting?) swords.
---(Switching to first person again)---
Another flash, on the other side of the arena, and we reappear, otherwise in the exact same position as before.

There is no such thing as a normal day in Forum Fight, and Iĺve decided that I have had enough.
The Shadowforger throws the assassin known as Light toward us, and he proceeds to swiftly take us on one-by-one. I would be lying if I wasnĺt impressed by his fighting skills. With the finesse and speed of a master ninja heĺs already shown to be a formidable foe against both Ash*in and Mad Guy, before Iĺve even managed to react.
Still upside down, I thrust my palms down into the ground, launching myself into the air with an explosive blast and spinning around, eventually getting myself back upright and landing lightly on the ground in front of Light. As the rain of fire drizzles onto the ground and disappears, I make some swift motions with my arms.
In an abrupt blaze, I equip a set of armour consisting of light fire plates with intricate phoenix-like designs over an ornate tunic woven from threads of solid flame. The helm is similar to an eagleĺs visage, with ornamental wings spraying out of the sides.
Once again, my eyes turn through
Without even the slightest movement on my part, one of the floating wings disassembles itself and every single quill, points so hot and sharp they could evaporate granite in milliseconds, slices Light with pin-point accuracy. No doubt heĺll avoid the attack somehow, but Iĺve learnt enough from observing these fighters not to go for actual damage without knowing your enemy*s strengths and weaknesses.

Poor form, Wayne. Foor porm.
Please, please tell me that was deliberate.
Anyway, I spam liquid and solid plasma all the time, I think youĺll get away with doing it.
Also, after reading your post I think itĺs time I actually did a long post. Like one of those super long posts that you guys do. (Iĺm usually against this in roleplaying on the grounds that it takes too much time and slows the thread. But this isnĺt a role-play, is it?)
As for my first person problem, I usually prefer third person (a lot), but it just seemed more appropriate for my main character to use first person, especially since posts are normally first person on this thread. However, for the sake of convenience I will use third person.
A look of puzzlement spreads across the pyroconjurerĺs face as his fire has no effect on the assassin. However, he does manage to use the explosion to launch himself free. However, once he has summoned the phoenix armour, he finds that his opponent has already disappeared, either succumbing to Pyroĺs devastating attack or escaping it. Not forgetting to keep his guard up, he nonetheless turns his attention to the scene unfolding between Ash*in and the Shadowforger.
He gives an impressed nod of approval when Ash*inĺs sword changes and he summons a fierce lightning bolt to strike the enemy from above. Although it is no surprise that she shrugs off, he is completely thrown off balance when she grabs the lightning and forged it into a sword.
~Damn, I thought positive energy weakened her~ He thinks to himself.
Before the destruction unleashed upon the clones can reach Ash*in himself, he rushes forward, gliding smoothly on the hot air generated by the armour. Like a phoenix he folds the great plated wings around himself as he moves in front of his ally. Then suddenly the bright, pure flame is tainted by shadow and the whole armour turns dark.
He turns back to the Shadowforger,
And he unleashes his full power.
Artfully floating on the air, he charges up, making his armour and wings glow bluey-violet again, and Wicked Battle by Revo starts playing in the background.
Every single wing collapses into one long blade and each individual quill blade.
Every single blade (keep in mind it may be fire but it also has solid properties like that of metal; immunity to heat won** stop it, only immunity to fire itself) rushes in at her; each one placed exactly, so that they come from all directions, then come again, several times per second.
The Shadowforger is bombarded with hails and hails of white-hot fire-blades, hundreds of them, each at least the size of her own sword.
But, somehow, this doesnĺt seem to do anything.
The blades cease their flight, and are pulled back to their owner.
Not as long as I'd hoped but ti's a start. If you're puzzled about the dark fire, I absorbed dark fire earlier on and needed to get rid of it. It's earlier on, I'll find out which page it is.
EDIT - It's page 5

Either way, itĺs time for my first ever flashback! Iĺve got little to no history for this character beforehand, so itĺs going to be a little plain. Donĺt expect any tragic deaths.
ôOkay, that was strange.ö Says the cloaked fighter as he begins to take in what the stranger had said. Some of us had to work for our power...
And like that he is taken back to his early training days in Drakton. Ok, it wasnĺt that long ago, maybe ten years when he started but what heĺs remembering is more like four years ago. Alright. Back to the plot.
ôAnd then you spread the flames out like so-ôsays a wizened voice, as a quiet rushing of fire permeates the room. The source of the voice, an old man with a long grey beard and red robes with a wide brimmed hat - pretty much your stereotypical wizard ľ holds out both gnarled hands, pressing an ever expanding disc of fire until it reaches the size of an average human. A group of four young students gingerly do the same. Eventually, they shakily produce their own discs.
Then they step through.
That had been the first time heĺd ever entered the realm known as the Ĺphoenix planeĺ. The official term was Ĺpotential fire planeĺ, but the phoenix thing sounded more poetic so people tended to use that, and he could see why. He remembered that first time just as clearly now, even though heĺd seen so much more of it since. The whole place was alight.
A flock of what looked like tiny hummingbirds that had sprung forth from flames flittered past, several of them stopping and hovering curiously around the student pyroconjurer, before darting off into the glowing haze.
But what he remembered most was seeing the phoenix star for the first time. It was sort of like seeing the sun, only it somehow fills your entire vision, even though it doesnĺt fill the whole sky. And it wasnĺt white, like youĺd expect. It wasnĺt dark either. It was so bright you couldnĺt see it. It wasnĺt invisible though. Whatever colour it happened to be was a spectrum all on its own.
He had to work to get this far, and heĺs not about to let it all go to nothing just because some arrogant solar warrior has decided that she is superior to everyone else.
Then he concentrates, focussing on her wings. I think IĹve figured it out, he thinks to himself, vanishing into the phoenix plane. Reappearing in a quiet, dark room, he swiftly pulls two basic steel long-swords off a shelf and vanishes into the flames again.

He thinks about his immunity to light and heat, rather than fire. Something which had always seemed odd, he hadnĺt quite managed to get fire by itself and instead had gotten its two main components. Then it happens; the light splits from the heat. Describing what it looks like would be about as easy as describing how a coral polyp breaks wind, so Iĺm not even going to try.
He enters the light plane...and instantly adjusts. He can see every colour there, as well as some completely outside the electromagnetic spectrum, unsure how thatĺs supposed to possible. Again, Iĺm not going to try and describe it. Itĺs a thread where you can have less-than-nothing, you can have impossible colours as well.
My point is, large discs of flame make wonderful portals for a pyroconjurer, and now large dragon wings made of light are going to be an excellent portal for a luxoconjurer.
Before she has time to even guess what the mage is doing, the Shadowforger feels something or someone come out of the back of the left wing. Any onlooker from behind would see an arm wielding a long-sword, and a head emerge from the light. He sees every gap in her armour from here, and he immediately lodges the sword into one of them driving it hilt-deep through.
And then he is gone again. The attack probably wonĺt do any damage, but should be enough to shock her enough for the next step to happen. He bursts out of the other wing, spinning round behind her. Without giving her time to pull the sword out, effortless though it would have been, he does it for her, finding that all that is left is a hilt, the liquid sunlight having completely dissolved it.
If she sees him, she will see that his irises glow with the hidden spectrums of the light planes.
So, Iĺd never intended to go all out light attacks, but I felt that for story reasons I needed a power up. Which, of course, translates to Ĺa completely new set of powersĺ.
I** not sure where we are on the grounds of deciding actual actions etc. of other characters. I wonĺt do it without the personĺs permission, so if youĺre OK with any of it (provided I keep it in character or avoid dialogue etc.) for the sake of story progression, just let me know. Otherwise just donĺt say and I wonĺt do any character controlling.
"Hey wait a minute-" The cloaked fighter walks over to the scene and grabs the fish by the tail, much to its dismay.
"Who're you? Where's that blue one?"
The fish manages to struggle free from the pyroconjurer's grasp, and shoots him the closest thing a fish could muster to an irritated look.
"Who do you think I am? I'm the Purple Floating Fish, obviously. Blue got turned into a swordfish for some reason so no doubt she's recovering from how stressful her job is. What with all these double posts, and most of them aren't even deliberate. there's just no satisfaction to it when you find out it's because of a faulty internet connection... Anyway, I'm filling in for her."
"Because I'm a nice person!" it shouts rather angrily.
"Yeah. Sure, real nice..." The mage leans over to Pyro and Mad Guy, "I think I've figured out a way to help you get back home, but I'll need some clarification since I missed most of what you said. Anyway," he continues, "Maybe we ought to finish off here first. Oh wait - the elf's leaving for now, maybe we can get it done quickly."
Just then, there's a strange noise somewhere between a page tearing and reality warping. I you wrote it down, it would probably look like this; Shhhrrrrrr-POP.
Two grey stones about the size of small teas light appear in the air and hover down in front of the conjurer and Mad Guy. They're talismans of some sort, with etchings on them.

Just some clarification, the milestones are an idea I came up with recently. You get them by claiming milestone posts, so if you are 10th, 50th, 100th, 500th or 1000th poster, you get the corresponding stone. Each one allows you to change two of your stats at will but to increase one you have to decrease the other proportionally. If it's too complicated just don't use it.
Nop Patar posted 10th, then left. Yontyv got post 50, but Mad Guy defeated him in battle, so when the milestones came into being the second one went straight to Mad Guy since he is currently the rightful holder. I got the 100th post, as it turns out.
If you get two or more milestones, you have complete flexibility with them, so you can use them with fours stats, and you can lower one to raise any of the other three. When a new thread begins they leave their current holders, reunite, and dissipate, waiting to be claimed again in the new thread.
How does my character know about these before they even existed? Continuity error. I'll come up with something to fill that little plot-hole...
EDIT-Thank you, Magery, for reacting to Ash*in like that. because now i know how to get you angry, and if I can get you angry, I can probably work out how to get your character angry. Which, for some reason, I get the feeling, wouldn't exactly work in her advantage...basically, it looks like her emotions are her weak spot. I might be wrong of course.

They near the released prisoner, ready to end his existence there and then.
At least, that*s what they would have done, had their own existence not ended there and then, their path cut off abruptly by some unseen force. Almost simultaneously, two thuds along with two rather sharp imprints on the ground are followed by a sudden blast of air outwards along the ground, kicking up small dust clouds.
If Yuriel had finished his thoughts over his recent encounter, he might have had time to puzzle over this before something at a speed greater than that of sound crashed onto the ground, albeit in a surprisingly light and elegant fashion.
As the debris clear from the air, they move away almost deliberately as if a veil; there standing in the midst of the field is a young woman. Of the Elven persuasion, to be specific.
The tall figure rises gracefully from her calculated landing position, revealing a thin, although not skinny, figure, standing a few inches or so over 6 ft. and clad in fairly plain medieval looking attire consisting of a simple beige sleeveless dress, dark teal shorts underneath, and the usual basic looking boots and belt holding various weapons and such. Brushing her long, silvery brown hair back with a dramatic arc of her right arm, the warrior shoots Yuriel a look that can best be described with the words, Ĺyeah thatĺs right, I just did thatĺ.
Something else noticeable about the elf archer is the bow she carries. It is grey, but shiny as if made of some sort of metallic wood. And there is something geometrical about its shape and the scores visible along it. On her back is a quiver with a surprisingly low amount of arrows, only three. Either sheĺs stupid, arrogant, or running low on ammo. At least it seems so.

The only person who recognizes the stranger, although he is, if anything, more shocked than anyone else at this arrival, is the pyroconjurer.
ôHow are you*Oh whatĺs the point of asking? Why are you here?!ö
ôJust thought Iĺdůdrop in.ö
The pyromancer sighs, ôOf all the opening lines you could have used, you picked one of the most over-used**
*I donĺt see whatĺs so over-used about ĹOh. Hai.ĺ ô
((EDIT- In my last post I described the invisible force which stopped the bullets having continued afterwards. Ignore that, They were erased from existence when the bullet hit them. They basically acted as a substitute for the prisoner, and even if they didn't take the bullets down with them, the blast of air from them should have been powerful enough to stop most magically or technologically enhanced bullets, or at least divert their path enough for the target to escape or find some way of countering.))

Noting that Pyro is taking a well earned rest after the battle, he looks back to see the portal to the underworld which they used earlier still there. Well, if she's going anywhere, he doesn't expect it would be particularly pleasant.
"I don't know who is and isn't going to that arena," He says, indicating the other portal, "but I doubt the Shadowforger is completely gone. This might be the best time to take care of her, so if anyone's up for going back to try and find her, I'd appreciate-"
"I think," the elf-archer interrupts him, "We have something to take care of first."
"Ah," he replies, "Yes. It seems One of Ash*in's allies is wanted dead. Well then..."
"Shall we?" The elf says to generally anyone who might be willing to help.
She pulls the bow off her back, but doesn't bother nocking an arrow.
Canonically, I probably shouldn't know Ash*in by name but I couldn't think of any other way to address him.
EDIT-I just checked something on the wiki...are we actually allowed to be doing this or are they going to send us off to the RP forum again?
Also...Are Magery and harbinger the same person? Because at one point it said that Natasha worked for/followed Magery, but on her wiki page and several times in the thread it says she works for someone called harbinger, aka unconquered sun etc. (I actually thought that the unconquered sun was meant to be a star of some kind)

...She finishes in a sort of reverent rapture, a worshipful priestess in the face of her God...
The two are obviously related in some way, otherwise there'd be a plot hole. And you don't exactly strike me as the type to allow plot holes in their writing.
Now, as for that question...
Which one follows who?
(I miss Snorro and Percy...They were actually on a similar power level to me, i.e low)
She locks on to her target, and releases the string.
The arrow sheds its shell in a blast of air and becomes invisible to the eye as it instantly reaches sound-speed. Only the most advanced AI, such as the kind Yuriel has, would be able to track it. Not because of its speed alone ľ that would be easy for technology not nearly as advanced ľ but because of its composition and coverage. For reasons unbeknownst to the assassin, the arrow makes absolutely no excess sound; even when released it was silent as it slid across the guard of the bow. On top of that, it is essentially sound waves, composed in such a way that they act as a solid object.
Not only is there no audible sound, this arrow causes no vibrations, not even traces, in the air at all. The only way to detect an arrow like this would be with electromagnetic waves. If he is able to examine it, he would probably find that the point is one molecule wide. Considering it consists of waves, which it travels at the same speed as. Whether or not he has time to figure out the cause of this makes no difference as he has less than a hundredth of a second to react, not that it would be a problem.
However, the arrow simply goes right past his ear, making it look like she never fired anything in the first place. Little does he know (at least hopefully), that it has not at all missed.
Two arrows bombard him from directly behind the last one, the kinetic energy from the sound waves being project from the air itself and converging on a point, rather than a molecule thick tip, making the level of energy technically infinite, as well as infinitely sharp.
Tried to keep character controlling as low as possible, as I do not want to be a hypocrite, although I am much more comfortable with it now as I was at first.
Also don't want to be inaccurate about abilities and powers.
EDIT- Can't wait for Eno's long drawn-out speech where he points out every single grossly arrogant and inadequate assumption I made and how I got everything wrong, before he proceeds to explain how he's superior to me in every single way and how his characters are also, simply because he's a veteran and I'm not, despite the fact that he is currently displaying every single one of the 'new traits' which you veterans are always complaining about 'noobs' having, such as:
-Having an unstoppable way of successfully voiding or evading every single attack anyone ever throws at you
-Having an autokill attack which never misses and always has some reason which stops anything from being able to dodge it or block it because it instantly finds a way around the problem
-HAVING THE AUTOKILL AS YOUR REGULAR ATTACK.

ôI donĺt think those are going to work on him,ö the pyroconjurer tells the archer, before he suddenly clutches his head with both hands and stumbles onto the ground.
ôGahůö he pushes himself up, trying not to fall over again. Bright orange seems to flash in his eyes before fading away.
Then the Vanguard is there.
He is utterly powerless as he simply watches the scene unfolding. As the Shadowforger reappears, he wants to fight, wants to stand up, do something, but he just can*t.
Then they are gone.
ôShe-ö he gasps for breath, ôI-I felt itůbillions of starsůno, whole galaxiesůgoneůwho was that?!ö
Then he collapses on the ground, unconscious.
He wakes, surrounded by fire and light.
Drifting through what he can only assume to be the Phoenix Plane, he floats through clouds of flame, past rocks of glowing orange energy. Something seems off. Somethingĺs not right about thisůat least, not the same as it was before.
He comes to what looks like a floating island of solid fire and, in that dreamlike trance that the unconscious state often puts one in, enters without a second thought. Only two metres in and it opens into what would usually be a vast cavern of sparkling red-hot crystals, but instead he finds himself in a room. A really old, ordinary looking shop, to be exact.
After what seems like hours but was in actuality less than two minutes, he recognizes it and realizes that heĺs in a dream, in that dull way of figuring something out. However, he does not wake up. And this surprises him. Suddenly he regains his usual composure.
ôHmmůö He says to himself, ôLucid dreaming? Never really had the chance before.ö
As soon as he walks out of the shop door, however, he is hit with the impact if a strong wind and finds himself coming out of a doorway in the side of a cliff, of all places.
He lands easily and looks back to see not only the door but also the cliff gone. Dusting off the sleeves of his cloak, he looks around, finding himself on a road, surrounded on both sides by vast plains, giving way to snow-tipped mountains on either side, that are far too tall. Everything is drawn and shaded like a sumie painting, and the road seems to have no end either direction.
Spotting a traveller in a black robe facing away from him just up ahead, he approaches the figure and attempts to say hello before it instantly swivels round. No face is visible, being obscured by a dark hood. But he could swear there was just a slight glint from within its shadowy recesses.
The traveller reaches to his hip and draws a long, slightly curved katana and slices across the pyroconjurerĺs vision, and he find himself back in the flames*literally, he can see himself in front of him.
He looks further and sees the flames form a giant image of what he knows is a phoenix before everything is consumed by a white light and now he sees entire galaxies being destroyed before his very eyes. He sees planets, civilizations, consumed in nothingness without a thing he can do about it.
Then he finally recognizes the katana he saw, at least in some way. Itĺs not so much a recognition but the feeling that he has seen it and knows what it is. Suddenly everything begins reappearing, and countless array of flames, plants, object, weapons, stars.
Finally the sheer amount that he sees is so much that he wakes up.

ôWell,ö he continues, ôwe can either go after them, or we can all stay here and fight. Either way I have no doubt theyĺll be back sometime.*
Next time, he thinks to himself, next time she thinks she can destroy an entire cluster of galaxies with no consequence, Iĺll be ready.
Having various fire related abilities, the main one being able to act over distance, certain effects occur when something drastic happens involving fire.
On a side noteůdoes CYOC allow magical weapons/equipment? Because there seems to be some use of elements, mythologies etc.
...in his hand is a scythe that, in another universe, might have been known as Crescent Rose.
Any reference to RWBY right now just reminds me of what happened earlier this monthů

"So...if I got this correctly, the Shadowforger got defeated by this new arrival, but then someone else turned up and simply willed her to death, before resurrecting the Shadowforger and now they've both gone, who knows where.
"Anyway, I'm gonna stay and try to help Ash*in and the prisoner, but I'm not gonna keep you two here. Although, I do have an idea as to how to get Pyro home."
"I challenge you to a duel!"
Alright, some fighting.
Absolute power bores absolutely.
Yontyv is an Absolute?!
Guthix is thrown backwards, but instead of hitting the ground is lifted up by a gentle breeze, allowing him to land softly on his feet.
With a rush of wind which is clearly exaggerated for show, the elf archer comes between Mad Guy and his target.
"If running from a duel is an act of cowardice," She retorts, "Then interrupting one is rude. However, if it is a battle you seek, then I, Ellessa of the wind, will gladly be your opponent."
Then reality is crudely pushed to the side and Yontyv is there.
"...Or maybe you could battle him again."
"So..." The Pyronconjurer addresses Guthix once more, drawing an orange blade out of the fire realm that contrasts against the green of his opponent's.
The two combatants are interrupted when a hellhound leaps out of the shadows, sharp fangs of eldritch obsidian honing in toward their prey. Immediately the fire mage runs in front of the hound, jamming the blade across its mouth.
It chomps the sword to pieces.
"Ah..." He says, backing away cautiously. "Haha...er...good...boy?" The hound leaps at him, and he vanishes into flames, reappearing behind the beast with renewed blade in hand. The creature spins round, growling at him, and then spews white hot flames at the mage, before being relatively surprised to find they have no effect. The pyroconjurer suppresses a smirk before creating another portal, holding out and running toward his opponent.
Guthix find himself surrounded by flames for a split second, before being on top of what appears to be some sort of rocky outcrop covered in patches of short grass. Expansive skies surround it, with no more than a few floating rocks visible. If he were to look over the edge he would find that this island is also floating above a sea of clouds.
"They shouldn't bother us while we're here," explains the conjurer, entering a battle stance, "now...shall we?"
"I wonder if he'll be back," Ellessa comments as the Forgotten Warrior dispatches of the Battle Lord.
Taking her bow, she reaches into her quiver. A peculiar arrow is gracefully slid up and flung into the air. In one swift motion the archer reaches into a pocket, flips some kind of tablet out, throws it with incredible precision into a mechanical hatch which just opened in the top of the ammunition, catches the back expertly between two fingers and nocks it steadily in the bow.
As soon as Mad Guy indicates that he is ready for the battle, she will release the arrow, which hits his armour with a surprisingly melodious 'ting' and is deflected just slightly, flying off to who knows where.
The seemingly badly aimed arrow is followed by an epic fight. Mad Guy's swordsmanship is impressive, however the archer seems to be able to dodge every attack thrown at her, as if he were simply trying to cut through wind.
On a floating island in the middle of an endless, quiet sky, a green cloaked figure stands, holding a glowing golden blade. After a while he dismisses it.
"Hellooo?" he asks, to no-one in particular.
After a while, he sighs in slight irritation, "He's gone, isn't he?"

"Wha-" the conjurer says, "How did you get here - oh, fire teleportation."
The mage regards the flaming skeletal being.
"Well, I'm from a place called Silvarbor. I trained as a mage and also managed to get some swordplay lessons but really, my past's not all that eventful. Pretty normal there. I came here hoping to find new techniques and such. What about you?"
"Fine! You asked for it!"
Suddenly something hits Mad Guy on the back of the helmet. Something cold.
The ice arrow which the archer fired has found its target. As soon as it hit, it let out a burst of ice, resulting in a sizable crystal on the back of the warrior's helmet.
Smashed off pretty easily actually, but while he deals with that (if he chooses too), Elessa rushes forward, withdrawing a simple hunting knife and aiming at his face.
Her wrist is caught by the warrior, regardless. Apparently she underestimated his speed. A look of worry spread over her face, as if her opponent had figure out weakness, or was about to. *hint hint*
The pyromancer chuckles.
"Oh, I wouldn't be entirely sure about that if I were you. You'd be surprised what kinds of spells and such are out there."
The one from Infernus continues his story, and the mage listens, considering the information provided.
"So is that Zamorak you're referring to? From Gielenor, right?"
"You were brave, but bravery only gets you this far..."
Just as the dagger approaches the archer's throat, there is, for such a small fraction of a second, the sound of rushing air.
Suddenly something hits the tip of the dagger head-on, causing the weapon to become encased in ice. Mad Guy would recognize it as one of the mechanical arrows, however this one is noticeably more narrow than the one that was fired.
The ice starts moving, the archer concentrates all her magical energy, and it pulls the dagger away from her. He smashes the ice on his helmet to find that that arrow is also narrower than the one before. about a third of the size, in fact.
As if in response to the end of the last sentence, a third ice arrow hits his wrist, the ice doing the same again. While it isn't nearly strong enough to move his hand, she does manage to sneak just a small amount of air underneath his grip. She flies straight out of the grip, hovering ten feet or so in the air. She winces in pain as she forces her knee back into position, landing on the ground with a visible limp.
The arrows break from their ice and fly toward her, reattaching into one and landing in her quiver.
Her bow, on the ground a few metres away, shoots back into her hand at sound speed, before Mad Guy can catch it.
She holds it by the outside, flicks it once, and catches the small now detached part by the bowstring. The rest of the bow starts moving around, parts sliding into place. the mechanical weapon reshaped itself, a neck shooting out.
The melody is not recognizable, but every note is played expertly and within seconds her limp is gone and a strong barrier of wind is forming around her.
"Quoting anime are we?" the elf taunts.
She lets go of the violin and its bow, and they float in the air above her. Meanwhile, she thrusts her palms out continuously to throw strong gusts if wind at Mad Guy in rapid succession.
Maybe it is because of the uncertainty of the full nature of the attack, and maybe her current occupation with wind attacks has some effect, but she only just manages to avoid it, getting a slight graze on the underside of her jaw. Mad Guy might even notice something off abut the way she moves, as if she herself isn't moving. it is also accompanied by a small rushing of wind, although it may be difficult to notice with the other gusts flying about.
"I think it's time I got some proper training done." he muses to himself, before disappearing into a flame portal.
I'm not leaving, it's just I've been meaning to have my main leave for a while and come back later, more powerful. This seems like a pretty good time. There's also exams, but they're not happening until about 2 months from now, so...yeah.
It has taken me four years, but I have finally done it.
My screen name is now once again Magery.
Magery has returned, and there's going to be an epic fight and I can't join in because I don't have time because EXAMS! NOOOOOO! (well, 4 exams...)
*i find myself in the middle of an empty battlefield as the veterans seem to lose interest in fighting. disappointed, i plant my sword in the ground, sit down and contemplate*
If you have time, I'll have a battle once my exams are over. How's 19th June?
No, Master 1, you have not been reading Game of Thrones. Game of Thrones simply is the first book in A Song Of Ice And Fire, which is what you have been reading.
(I really really really really really hate it when people mix the two up, as you might have noticed )
Ah, a bit of a Link/Zelda thing going on there? Red/Ash? Gary/Blue? etc.?
As Mad Guy is busy training, there is a small flash from up in the air, as what looks like a glowing drone shoots down to the ground out of the sky, swooping back into the air and leaving a trail of embers.
The small item hovers in the air a couple of meters in front of the training warrior. Upon closer inspection, it looks like a metal bird that has been heated up so it glows orange.
The mechanical wings slide out slightly, and then solid flames extrude down and outwards from them, striking pillars into the ground and forming a small, slightly ornate archway, with another phoenix on each side, on top of the pillars.
The air inside the arch bursts into flames, which disappear just as quickly to open onto a wide plain surrounded by tall peaks.
A green cloaked figure walks out of the portal and nods at the warrior in greeting.
"Mad Guy. Nice to see you again. Shall we?" he says, drawing from his left side what looks like sword hilt with no blade and a tuft at one end.
"By the way...I had an idea to make this battle a little more interesting." Suddenly, more phoenix statuettes are duplicated from the top of the first arch, circling around the two until there is a ring of twelve of the same flame archways, each clearly leading to a completely different area, each with another ring of portals.
The challenger slips into a fighting stance.
With a sudden whir of movement, the green cloaked pyromancer reaches to a cylindrical hilt at his right side and pulls out a long stretch of scroll which spreads out in coils around him. there's another flurry of movement and the scroll starts glowing, before what looks like a mass of dull metallic spikes materialize, spinning and spreading out as if to damage an opponent.
As Mad Guy rushes in for an attack, some of the spikes move, revealing what looks like an amber jewel with a dark ellipse inside. The 'jewel' blinks.
The mass of spikes unravels, extending its long neck upwards and towering over the warrior, steely grey scales and bright flaming eyes.
The dragon stretches out two taloned arms, opens its scaly beak and roars at Mad Guy, swishing its tail, adorned with a large fan-like crest of blades, at him. However, as he goes for a low swipe he easily avoids the attack, which goes straight for his opponent!
The cloaked fighter just manages to summon a wall of solid fire, which the warrior smashes through easily, although the first attack has been avoided. However, this is followed by a back-flip ending in a kick, which strikes the opponent squarely on the jaw, sending him flying through one of the portals into a large cavern, followed by the dragon, which coils around him protectively.
With only seconds to act, the mage holds the brush-like object between his hands and crouches slightly.*Ok* he thinks to himself, ~I practiced this.*
There's as small explosion underneath him and he suddenly launches upwards in a blur. Something sharp, and glowing orange appears out of the back of the 'brush', which moves around almost blindingly fast.
As quickly as each rock reaches the mage, something slices through it, causing most of the rock to glow with heat, and some of it to melt.
The slices of boulder fall to the ground with a crescendo of noise, their now polished sides gleaming in the meager light that enters the cave.
The pyromancer, wielding a solid-fire katana with the brush as its handle, clashes swords with Mad Guy, both combatants in mid-air.
Since the flash from the fire is enough to alert anyone to where he's ended up, he decides he might as well go for an offense right now, and chooses to deactivate his weapon, quickly sheathing it and summoning two solid-flame blades, which he hurls at the ground where Mad Guy is standing.
Relocating mid-fall again, he adjusts his stance and appears some distance from his opponent, dashing forwards with his fire-sword drawn once again. He feigns to the left and repeats the process, picking up speed each time, before eventually beginning to attempt actual hits.
Struggling up, the pyromancer finds himself in an open-air, mountainous area, and then looks at his now empty right hand. Looking back through the portal, he spots the sword on the ground, and forms the blade into a string of fire which he pulls into his hand, dragging the sword back though the portal. however, this gives Mad Guy plenty of time to launch another attack.
Since it looks like there's gonna be another story thing, shall we try and get this duel finished soon? I suggest we start writing each other's action a bit more, to keep the fight flowing more quickly. Otherwise it'll probably get interrupted without any clear conclusion.
So for example,
A: A and B clash swords, then A swings but B blocks and follows with a series of quick hits, all of which A block
B: B casts an ice spell which sticks A's feet to the ground, but he continues fighting, blocking all of the attacks
The fire-sword clatters away, and a fire portal opens up to transport it somewhere. The pyromancer turns his attention back to his opponent, only to find him about to engage in what he can only describe as 'fisticuffs'.
He responds by shooting basic fire-ball spells at his opponent, who easily either dodges or pushes to the side each time, taking little to no damage despite his armour's weakness to magic. This is followed by a series of accurately placed punches from Mad Guy which are avoided due to his opponent's speed.
Eventually, after an intense conversation of jabs, dodges, spells and blocks, Mad Guy's gauntletted arm comes shooting straight towards the mage's face, who just about avoids the attack by ducking, only for his proponent to respond almost immediately by knocking him on the top of the head with his elbow.
The pyromancer darts backwards, rubbing his head in pain. As Mad Guy rounds in for another attack, he creates a ring-shaped portal in the ground around him and summons a wall of fire to deter his opponent.

The pyromancer is dragged through a portal and flung across the ground. Landing roughly, he realizes he has entered some kind of swamp area.
Taking a moment to analyse his opponent, he looks at Mad Guy. It doesn't look like he's taken any physical damage, but so far magical attacks have seemed to prove somewhat effective. It makes sense really, considering melee armor from Gielenor has a huge weakness to magic attacks. However, the pyroconjurer's lack of armor means he can take few hits, so will have to focus mainly on evasion and offense.
Without remembering in time that swamps often contain highly flammable gases, he shoots out several small fireballs. these, unfortunately, collide with a badly timed burst of gas from a natural spring.
The fierce explosion knocks both opponents away from each other, dealing considerable physical and magical damage to both, and, coincidentally, flinging them both through opposing portals.
The mage finds himself flying over the edge of a chasm, at the bottom of which is a portal similar to the doors but hexagonal and on the ground. He falls through it, landing in a snowy mountain area, encased in an ever ferocious blizzard. At the same time, there just happens to be a huge landslide, filling the chasm and blocking the portal in the ground.
"Great, just great" he mutters, shivering and stamping his feet, looking at the remaining open portals around him for any sign of his opponent.
A hexagonal portal? What that made me immediately think of is Bad News. And yes, those capitals are deserved. After all, who in all of Worm is described as using hexagonal portals? Khepri. Trust me when I say that that's something you want no part in.
WE. DON'T. UNDERSTAND. YOUR. REFERENCES!
"!" is the closest thing to dialogue that the mage has when his opponent appears again. ~Ohcrapohcrapohcrap* he thinks, as Mad Guy punches the ground. The hit sends a tremor up the sides of the mountains. With a low rumbling, colossal snowdrifts start to crumble and slide down the peaks toward the area where the combatants stand.
Noticing his opponents armor glowing red from heat, and quickly hardening, the mage just about has time to surround himself with a 2-foot thick dome of solid fire, as the avalanche comes from all sides, crashing over the portals like a frozen cavalry.
The snow dissipates most of the fire, but not until most of the avalanche has passed. The remainder is turned into a shockwave of fire and fired outwards, melting the snow burying the mage, and leaving him in a crater, the floor of which quickly freezes into solid ice.
Mad Guy is seen poking out of the snow, but all of the portals have been blocked for now, except for the one Mad Guy entered through, the heat making the snow around it evaporate instantly, shrouding the battlefield in mist.
"Hey, Mad Guy!" the mage says to his opponent, "Do you know what happens when metal rapidly cools from an incredibly high temperature?"
With that, he rushes forward, reaching one arm backward. With a flick of his wrist, an immense mass of solid fire takes form as one of the most ridiculously over-sized hammers you'll ever see outside of a monster hunter game.
However, the warrior vanishes and reappears, wearing a completely new set of armor. ~So, he has more than just the gorgonite?~ the conjurer thinks to himself.
At that point, his opponent rushes forward, feigning and reappearing behind him, slashing him across the shoulder.
"Gah! ow." he splutter, jumping round to face is opponent. "I was wondering when you were gonna start using that teleportation technique of yours."
The mage's arm swings up, and there is a resounding clang as Mad Guy's knife is stopped in its tracks. Held in both hands, is a long, slender glaive. Intricately designed , with a katana-like blade, and two smaller blades either side like wings. Only, this one seems to be made of pure light rather than fire.
The mage jumps back, the glaive seeming to ripple in and out of existence, as armor of a similar look materializes on the fighter, light for agility, but its wearer now fully covered, face hidden behind the gleaming visage of some sort of bird of prey.
Holding out the glaive, The mage's armor lights up blindingly, all the spectrum bouncing prismatically, dancing across the surface of the snow, creating a blanket of startling white across the mountains that would blind the unprotected eye.
"Fire won't be any use to me here. You might not have known, but I have a couple other new tricks now."
The music changes to Conquest (ablaze) from Fire Emblem Awakening, as the mage rushes forward.
there is a resounding clang as the warrior's knife and the mage's weapon collide, followed by a series of quick attacks and parries. Eventually, the mage is outdone by the warrior's higher strength and knocked back, holding the glaive like a staff and using his light magic to produce a laser (stimulated by electromagnetic radiation, i.e light), similar the those used in laser cutters, at Mad Guy.

Then, for the mage, everything seems to slow down. The expression on his face changes from puzzlement, to realization, to understanding.
The knife flies silently through the air, glinting brightly. At that exact moment, the knife and the mage are both enveloped in a flash of light.
The next thing Mad Guy sees is the mage standing, facing him, the knife stuck blade down in the snow a few feet away.
Breathing heavily, the mage clutches the wound on his shoulder, remembering his weakness to cold and sealing it up with heat. This seems to take more of a toll on him than most of his magic attacks for some reason.
"Hey, where'd that tree come from?" he asks, noticing a tall pine to his left, behind which two figures seem to be hiding.
"Hey, we've got an audience now! Hiya!" he waves to the spectators.
The mage raises his glaive to block his opponent's dagger attack, countering only to then be punched in the stomach.
"Are you actually trying to kill me?!" he asks, shocked, as he recovers from the attack. Just then he gets an idea. Shooting a spark at the fallen tree, which then bursts into merry blaze, he uses it as fuel for his attacks.
The pyromancer swings his arm round, pulling all of the fire out of the tree and forming it into one massive wave, like a tsunami made of fire. He then hurls this at his opponent.
Mad Guy goes defensive and easily weathers the attacks, however afterwards the mage is nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, he feels the handle of the glaive press against his neck, and realizes the mage is standing directly behind him, holding the weapon around him.
(just so you know, it would be relatively easy to break the glaive, so this isn't checkmate)
*a few swings from the dagger and glaive clash against each other. if you fully completed "no more heroes", you should easily be able to picture this*
Nah, haven't played it. I guess I just have to imagine it RWBY style instead. You know, ridiculously fast.
"I wouldn't count on it." the mage retorts, rushing forwards and attacking Mad Guy, who parries the glaive, sending the attack well out of the way and slashing upwards at his opponent's shoulder. The mage stumbles backwards, another wound added to the mix.
"The question is," he continues, closing in for another series of lightning-fast clashes,
"Is the battle nearly over? Or is it just beginning to lift off?"
The mage jumps back. there is a shimmering, and large, slender plates are seen coming out of the back, arms and legs of the armor. These fold out like wings, and with a blast of light the mage launches into the air.
"Let's find out."
Kicking upwards behind him, another blast sends him toward Mad Guy at near sound-speed, thrusting the glaive at his opponent in a stabbing motion, aiming for the shoulder.
~Hmm...so far he's barely broken a sweat. He hasn't even needed to use that rage mode yet-Oh, that's it then.~
The head of the glaive turns into a phoenix holding a gem as the weapon becomes a magic staff. Orange trimmings appear along the weapon, and the armor, it is now composed of both light and fire.
~I'll force him to use it, then wear him out.~
Summoning a huge fire portal 50 metres high and 30 metres wide, the mage sends a vast wave of fire at thousands of degrees celsius that fans outwards, so as to ensure the highest chance of hitting his opponent.
If this attack successfully hits, he will then make all of the fire converge on his target, so all of the damage is concentrated toward Mad Guy.
Gosh you dudes are a boring bunch - ignoring us mortals... I could be dancing stark ***** and you'd still carry on your business like nothing out or the ordinary
Punches Very Mad Guy in the face after Breath Mint took off his helm, to get his attention...
((Whaddaya mean 'us mortals'?! I'll have you know, I'm a mortal, too. ))
The plan seems to work, Mad Guy going into rage mode as expected. However, the second part of the attack doesn't hit, as he teleports in order to avoid it.
He reappears high up in the air, the armor looking quite different, aiming his sword straight at the mage, who casts a simple fire-spell to make an explosion that blasts him out of the way, as well as the text to the other side of this post, as he lands roughly in the snow.
~Fighting an opponent in an enraged mode...this seems familiar, but something is missing. Aha!*
The mage throws his staff a few inches in the air where it hovers and turns back into a glaive, pulls out some paper from the scroll, takes out the brush and starts painting. A mauldrone bursts out of the page, landing on his left arm, as he grabs the glaive out of the air.

((we arent really immortal. we just happen to be very hard to kill. also, to Duncan, what exactly is a mauldrone? i cant really make a move until i know that))
"the gods are satisfied with my efforts. they have granted me an immortal life. all my old power is back. my rage and my entire arsenal is with me. now... WHO WILL FIGHT ME!?"
((Well, I'm not but I can't really speak for this guy.
For mauldrone, just search 'mauldrone', or 'kinsect', or 'insect glaive' and pretty much the first result will tell you everything you need to know.
Basically, it's a giant insect which the wielder controls and uses as a weapon, firing at enemies, it does some damage, can have an element, and also comes back with essence that boosts stats, but I won't use that because that implies eating parts of my opponent, which is pretty messed up in a human vs human situation.))
~looks like he's not as worn-out as I'd expected.~
The warrior fends off the giant beetle easily, as it returns to the mage. Mad Guy rushes forwards, going for a quick, powerful swipe.
The pyromancer runs forwards, plants the glaive into the ground, which seems to move mechanically as if it were spring-loaded, pushing the mage high into the air and over his opponent, after which he fires his kinsect again, opening a flame portal behind his opponent and pulling the fire towards him, to distract his opponent while attacking him from behind. Unfortunately, the cold temperature and previous use pf fire has weakened him, causing the fire attack to be pretty feeble.
Mad Guy: You Don't seem to be from around here, are you? Are there more people like you or are you one of a kind?
Sir Eos Lee: *Whacks with Level 2 Folding Chair*
Mad Guy: OW!
Me: Seriously?! we were having a conversation
Mad Guy: And a fight.
Me: Anyway, I was about to ask, what do you mean? Do you mean my pyroconjuration? where I'm from, loads of people use it, there's the same thing with water, earth, etc., too. That Elven musician you duelled is from the same place. And let's not mention Pyro, who has similar techniques and is from a completely different realm. So, in a sense no, but kind of yes? I have different abilities from the next pyroconjurer , but so does any.
And you have that rage mode, and teleportation, most warriors don't use that yet you share abilities with daemonheim bosses, and wield a sword.
The mage musters up most of what strength he can, rushing forward and whirling the glaive around a blinding speed, clashing repeatedly with his opponent.
After some intense fighting, he gets pushed back, and the armour starts to fade, before falling apart and disappearing. The insect flies back into the paper.
~Damn. I only have enough power left to keep this weapon.~
While he is flung backwards, he swings the staff behind him, quickly mutters "see you in a few seconds..." as the staff breaks into pieces and forms a disc of swirling light, which he vanishes into, before it closes up.
The mage teleports a few times, after a while going in the same direction.
~it must be this way~ he thinks, picking up speed as the fire surrounding him replenishes some of his energy.
After a few seconds of being surrounded by blinding light and heat so intense most dragons would wince (over 1,000,000K, apparently), he bursts out of the surface, where he is greeted by a swirling landscape of swirling loops of fire.
A huge blast of fire is used to propel the mage back toward the planet where his opponent is, giving Mad Guy plenty of time to recover (and probably smith his armour again, considering how quick it is in Runescape)
From the icy peaks, the ring of plasma bursting outwards from the sun and disappearing would be easily visible.
As the mage soared through the stretch of space between the star and whatever planet they had been on (using the fire to breath), parts of armour begin materializing in front of his path and attaching themselves together as he flies past, eventually forming a suit of armour just like the previous one, except that this one is a complex hybrid of fire and light.
Holding his right arm out, a weapon of fire and light materializes, a glaive with the head shaped ;like a phoenix, the beak being the main blade and the wings being side blades.
((Now would be a good time to use your most overpowered move. Also, it's your turn to pick the music, if you want to.))

"You really like armor, don't you?" he says, as the warrior gets ready for the last part of the battle. The solar activity from a few minutes earlier seems to have kicked off a display of aurora in the now clear sky.
"Night-time already? I wonder how long we've been here." he says, readying his weapon.
~Whatever just happened, this is gonna be tricky. Well, here goes...~
The mage holds the glaive out as a staff, and a ring of light appears around it,. Mad Guy is bombarded with a blast of corona-fire.
He shoots blasts of light at Mad Guy to try and blind him, but his opponent simply summons walls of a shadowy substance to negate them. The mage throws the polearm at his opponent, using a flame portal to teleport it back to him, before rushing forward and attacking head-on.
After some attacks and parries, the mage is knocked back into the air, losing balance temporarily. Mad Guy uses this opportunity to open portals which a grey energy comes out of, momentarily lowering the mage's stats.
((I forgot that at least one of Mad Guy's hammers was just stolen, but the principle still works.))
((Also, I've got a ore detailed list of those stones. I said there were five, but there are too many posts for just five.
Post - Stone property - how it is won from an opponent
10 - speed - moves around to random stones, or win it in a race
50 - physical - victory in battle through physical prowess
100 - magic - victory in battle through magical prowess
500 - Status conditions - if you get a status condition form someone's attack
1000 - elements - If you manage to get a super-effective attack on your opponent
5000 - support - If you fully restore your opponent's health and stats etc.
10000 - empty (changes depending on recipient, permanently awakens all of their abilities from next thread onwards) - n/a
n/a - Supreme (If you have all other stones, fuse all stones together to form this one, which stays as one stone in next thread, and you start with it. Has properties of all other stones)
killing an opponent always grants you their stone(*), except for speed, support and empty
So yeah that's pretty convoluted and longer than my actual post))

i dont exactly count the other persons post as canon.
Your entire character is not canon, he's fanfiction...
And you're putting off newcomers again.
The pole-arm is sliced in two like butter, however the mage simply flicks his wrist, and the two halves turn into liquid fire which he forms into a kiteshield, which he uses to block several of mad Guy's attacks, before switching it back into a weapon.
He rushes at his opponent, and they clash, the attack is parried.
Another strike, but his opponent blocks his every move.
After countless tries, He finally has an idea. He holds his hand out as if he were to grab something out of thin air, then, er...grabs something out of thin air.
As the mage holds the object, the warrior would see a familiar looking round grey stone with purple etchings on it. The stone disappears, and the mage increases his likelihood of causing status conditions, then shoots a stream of fire at his opponent to try and burn him.
His opponent dodges out of the way, and a portal opens above the mage, with some kind of purple mist.
"Oh -" he has time to shout before he gets hit by the attack without being able to get out of the way.
"Oh no." he says, now poisoned, as the milestone materializes in his opponent's hand.
"Well, this sucks."
((The ailment milestone lets you control your likelihood of causing status conditions, by having the inverse effect on your resistance to status conditions, and vice versa. So it's not difficult to tell how I got poisoned so easily.))
((i wonder, are you able to use a napalm-like spell or something?))
It isn't a kind of fire, so no. But fire that sticks to enemies sounds like a pretty good idea, I'll keep that one in minds. Thanks.
By the way, you should probably know I'm leaving on Friday and won't be back for two weeks, so i think we should try to wrap up the duel before then. Both our characters are pretty much at their most powerful right now anyway.
As Mad Guy turns around, the mage tries to use a flash of light, however his opponent resists the attack by increasing his resistance to status ailments.
~Damn~ the pyromancer thinks. He shoots some fireballs which are mostly dodged, and then Mad Guy attacks with the hammers, which are also mostly dodged.
The two combatants jump back. for several minutes, they watch, each completely silent, calculating their next move.
Finally, they both act. The fire mage holds the glaive out with both hands like a staff, and the rock around him starts to glow red from heat. The air shimmers, and suddenly saw-toothed trails of fire appear, dancing around the mage.
Meanwhile, Mad Guy draws his sword, holds it up in the air and drives it into the ground. A spider's web of fissures break out, as the ground starts to tremble, Several nearby mountains begin overturning and sinking, causing a multitude of avalanches. trails of spirit energy are circling around him, and when the mage looks closely he sees that they are mostly forgotten warriors, archers and mages, although some of the larger ones appear to be dungeoneering bosses.
Energy bursts out of the ground around the warrior as the armour turns red (I think) and he lets out a piercing, warped cry.
After a second of complete stillness, the music changes to 'born to do this' (as in daemonheim) and the two rush straight towards each other. from a distance it looks like a giant blast of red energy and a giant blast of blue fire colliding.
There is a metallic crash that resounds throughout the nearby mountain range, as sword hits glaive, and the two are seen standing there, struggling to gain the upper hand.
Behind Mad Guy, yet wider fissures open up, and huge pillars and walls similar to those seen in daemonheim rise up. The top layers seem to be frozen, underneath is a myriad of decorated, abandoned, and sections with red and purple glowings nearer the bottom.
Eight of these pillars rise up, surrounding the two, as well as a set of ornate walls similar to the warped walls.
Behind the mage, a blast of electromagnetic radiation fills the sky with aurora, and seems to make the stars shine more brightly as well.
Huge blasts of fire appear in the torches around the arena, glowing in all kinds of different colours, several of which technically don't exist, and forming a roof of aurora for their arena.
The two are thrown back, making sizable dents in the walls, although these quickly warp and patch up, as the bricks rearrange and fix themselves.
the two fighters go for another attack. Parried, with a blast of power that sends ripple patterns across the ceiling.
Clash after clash, the fighters keep coming back, neither one seemingly able to land a proper hit.
the mage almost stumbles, barely standing. His opponent doesn't look to be in much better condition.
"How..." Mad Guy gasps through heavy breaths, "How long have we been fighting...?"
"Er..." replies the mage, "I'm...not sure...although probably at least a few weeks, since I seem to have grown a beard during the course of our battle."
The two go for another attack, then both stumble and fall onto the ground.
Struggling back up, the mage's armor dissipates, leaving only his weapon. Meanwhile, Mad Guy's rage seems to wear off, leaving him in his normal gorgonite armor, dented but still functional.
So, i thought maybe having a really powerful attack, then a timeskip might help, since I'm going away soon. That meant I had to do some guesswork for what you might do, so I hope this is fairly accurate.

It comes as no surprise to him that Mad Guy's immediate reaction is to challenge the stranger. He lets out an exasperated sigh.
"Mad Guy, you're incapacitated. We need to go and recover."
"I'll be healed up in no time. Wait, did you just destroy an entire planet with life on it?!"
As the explosion clears off, a new combatant enters the arena. It appears to be a young Elven woman, whose plain clothes and brown hair, for some reason, constantly seem to blow in the breeze, even if the air is still.
"No way, you always beat me. And I just had a really big fight. You know that, too."
"Yeah, well, he's kinda bloodthirsty. I like to get some rest every now and then."
The Elf sighs impatiently.

We could...cast Lewis Black? XD
The mage looks at the clock sword.
"Oh look, it's Time Mage Khamer's staff, sword version. Oh."
The mage looks at the clock sword.
"Oh look, it's Time Mage Khamer's staff, sword version. Oh."
Well actually Paradox is more closely based off the antagonist of the first season of Wa*fu Nox(who also has a sword of the same appearance). Although I've added and buffed a few of his powers. But on the other hand who am I to deny a good burn.
Well, that's the thing abut Khamer.
What goes around comes around. *buddum-cha*
Wow, that was...really bad.
Something unseen slashes the ice, and the dagger continues its flight path, somehow arcing round and straight back at Paradox.
The fire mage summons armour and a glaive out of solid fire, and the archer draws back the string of her bow.
At the same time, mad Guy uses a sword attack that produces a sonic boom. For some reason, this particular one is especially powerful, as if the sound were amplified.
If you stop time, how can you see what's going on when the light isn't moving?

...JK it's a thermoplastic. It'll totally melt.
The elf-archer reacts quickly to the daggers. Activating some kind of mechanism on the bow, she pulls part of it off, taking the bowstring with it. this seems to shorten, the string being pulled in at the sides, making it look more like a musical bow. the rest of the bow partly folds up, and a compartment opens, with strings emerging. She starts with a single note on the violin, high pitched and smooth. This descends into a second long sequence. Some kind of breeze seems to start up around Mad Guy and also the mage, similar to that always seen around Ellessa.
The daggers that fly toward the elf simply miss, slamming into the ground all around her. While the other two avoid their attacks by themselves, they will now find that physical attacks generally either miss, or are far easier to dodge.
The fire mage seems to concentrate, then a lining of solid fire coats the edges of Mad Guy's sword, adding a burn effect. meanwhile he rushes forward with a fire-glaive and uses a flame portal so that as Mad Guy attacks with his second strike, the mage will attack with a similar strike from the opposite side of paradox.
Ellessa, frustrated, hops over the Lego pieces.
After Mad Guy and the fire mage both attack Paradox, the fire made flame-teleports next to VMG.
Ellessa, meanwhile, stands way back, beginning a fast tempo melody on her violin. The winds around her intensify, and some sort of energy seems to be building up.
"...(let's ditch him now and go to the arena)"
"But then afterwards Mad Guy got interrupted by this guy calling himself 'Paradox'. He used time manipulation, and it looks like he one of those crazy people that goes around sapping the life out of people."
With that, the mage finds a seat and begins watching the training Everyone's training. At the same time, he gets some paper and practices drawing the combatants fighting. (helps with pictomancy)

Almost as soon as he finishes this sentence, a beam of light appears and Yontyv of all people appears, although he seems visibly weaker than usual. Then again, he did seem like one to use illusions so he could easily be faking it.
Meanwhile he pulls up a chair next to Obendigo, takes a couple of foil packets and uses heat magic on them, causing a popping sound, before opening one and offering the other to the other spectator.
*Sips tea while holding an umbrella*
Simply to inform you should take into account the how do you say?
"That voice sounds familiar..."
The mage gets up from his chair and approaches the portal.
"I guess those two are in cahoots,"
Before VMG can respond, Xox suddenly shoots streams of lightning at both VMG and Yontyv. Reacting on impulse, the mage summons flame boots, rushes forward and launches into the air above Xox, while crossing his arms over and grabbing each lightning bolt, solidifying them, turning them into dual-blades. These look strange, as while they are clearly solid, their shapes seem to crackle at the edges as if burning the air, and they're almost painful to look at.

Hovering in the air, he throws both blades at Xox, where they explode in a blast of electricity upon impact.
"You're all missing the point!"
Hovering in the air, he summons two solid fire blades,
He throws one sword int the ground, which heats up. Cracks form, glowing red from heat, and the ground crushing Yontyv crumbles. The sword flies back to his hand.
"Speaking of which, my point is, Yontyv doesn't need to be stopped...he's in no state to pose a threat, he's no danger. Unless you've both agreed to a duel or you're trying to stop him from doing something, you're just wasting your time."
The mage reappears at a random side of the arena, shooting towards Xox and attacking him with the fireblades, before entering the wall again and using it to teleport. he repeats this over and over again, increasing in speed each time. However , he seems to be taking a small amount of damage using the wall as a portal, as he has no resistance to electricity.
Suddenly, Mad Guy and the mage both hear a familiar voice in the air just next to them.
FRIENDS, FRIENDS why do we fight when we can band together and destroy the greater threats of this world as one, as you all may know their are People on this world who want to destroy this place we call home.
We have turned a blind eye long enough. Come. Join me Brothers and Sisters and let us return This world back to a time when there was Peace!!!!
Everyone except Xox and Yontyv hear a different voice.
The mage turns back to the new arrival,
This likely doesn't cause any harm but at least has enough shock value to make him listen.
"Anyway, I don't think you quite understand what nonsense you're saying! 'Value of vengeance' as in, the inherent value of killing someone purely out of spite? Are you listening to yourself?!"
After seeming to calm down slightly, he continues,
"Of course, if you'd rather go chase down Xox and waste even more of our precious time, that's your choice."
The mage slams a hand down onto the ground.
(ASCII phoenix wave)
The wave of energy easily cancels out the destruction beams, since producing the image is a creative activity and therefore counters the destructive nature of the beams.
The mage puts on the brooch like device, ready to leave the ship and follow the path that Syl has conjured.
Everything seems to go fuzzy for a while. since onyl our avatars have hel;mets, not our characters, we are generally unaffected.
Everyone gets ready to attack. As soon as the fight starts my character will launch away from the ship and towards the black hole.
Everyone who has met the elf before shouts "Dammit Ellessa!" in perfect unison. At the same time, the elf appears from the spaceship (fine without a brooch device due to her air spells).
The pyromancer nears the black hole, but it's difficult to get near, due to the gravitational field and the ripples in space and time.
"Such an event would surely destroy most if not all of the galaxy, but I think I can do something about it. You guys can focus on the enemies for now."
He gets out a huge sketchpad and starts rapidly sketching.

She then nocks an odd looking arrow, which when fired separates into three, dispatching multiple enemies.
Meanwhile, a few picto-summoned warriors arrive from the black-hole area, joining the battle and dispatching a few of Zelerian's minions.
It also looks like Mad Guy is chasing him from behind, meaning the enemy is pretty much surrounded. This is either going to be even easier than expected or turn out to be more difficult than they could have imagined.
"Although, the radioactive radiation I can't deal with. Oh dear. this could be a problem."

Finally the battle is over, for now. He is teleported with the rest to the spaceship, before they travel back.
A few days later (I think), he is taking a stroll through town when suddenly a huge screen appears in the square.
"And here's the moment we've been waiting for..." an electronic sounding voice begins.
(Did I hear a howl earlier? Oh dear, I hope they remembered to take their wolfsbane. It is wolfsbane, right? the potion they have to take? I forgot.)
I just checked the last thread to see how long one of these usually lasts. it was about 3 and a half years, with over 10900 posts (roughly 11000). This one's one and a half years so far, which is almost half that time, but we don't even have a tenth as many posts as the last one yet, so if this is going to have 10900 posts and we have 810, that's...er...
810 is 7.4% of 10900
1.5/0.074 = 20 YEARS AND 3 MONTHS?!
...I hope I made a mistake somewhere.
Oh wait, no I just checked and veteran is having stayed in for one real life year, so I guess we both have that achievement. I thought you had to stay for one whole thread. Huh.
Heck, I think we've both been active 2 years. that's...actually kinda sad, we all really need to get lives.
Or...maybe i'll just take a break.

soo...is 'Mad Guy' mad as in angry, insane, or both? Also, is his name Guy? Would it be technically accurate to call him Guy even if that's not his birth name?
Xox arc (so far)
I think that's all the ones we've been in so far. I guess those would go on the character's page, actually. hmm.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OTHER SHOE, DAMMIT!
As for the letters, I did not notice that...but 'The Destroyer' doesn't really fit into that theme, although he's more of a future villain than a recent one.
we should've come up with a, b and c characters. I guess Ash*in is 'a'.
Has anyone noticed the parallels between current and older characters/players? Looking at the wiki, Beranabus sounds kinda similar to VMG, and Magery said himself Yontyv and him are similar.
I'll post more here if i find them
OK so it's only 2 characters. Still, it's kind of interesting i guess, it sort of shows how there are usually templates for characters that we use, making them fairly similar. If you look at 2 works of fiction, especially the same genre, you can often find similar characters.

They stop C*hulu eatin' ye.
The hooded figure is draped in a black travelling cloak and robes which leave naught but a glint in his eye to be seen. Despite the stranger's concealed face, Zel can tell he is definitely staring straight at him. It is rather clear that, like Zel, he is definitely not from this Gielenor.
"If I were you," came a low but soft voice, "I would think twice before threatening a complete stranger."
Zel can clearly see the stranger's left hand clasping the hilt of a sheathed weapon.
"Well, where do you need to go? What does it look like, exactly?"
Anyway, anyone here wanna fight my new character?
But yeah, we're both generally on the same side, but at complete opposite ends of the chaotic/lawful scale XD
Also Mad Guy's like a super edgy angsty 80s antihero and I'm...really not.

OHCRAPIWASNTPAYINGATTEN-*gets thoroughly kaboomed*
*thread's timeline reverts*
Yeah, I guess since the main veterans left there aren't as many of us newer players here as there presumably were when the old FFA thing was going on. It seems to just be 3 of us really, Ashlin, VMG and I.
I suppose I can't blame you for getting sentimental, I probably would if I were in your position/had been on here as long and as often as you. I plan on continuing here if I can. Anyway, it was a pleasure sharing that duel a while ago.
So, I kinda realized as far as forum RPs and games and stuff goes, I play too reactively and not proactively enough, so i don't really add much interest or activity to a thread. I'm going to start to put together some ideas for stories and stuff. Ashlin's already doing this, but having more than one thing going on can't hurt. Hopefully.
One idea I have, is maybe we could start a new story arc in a brand new universe/setting, that way we can sort of write our own lore without contradicting the older lore of the absolutes etc.So, basically kind of like refreshing/resetting it but keeping the old stuff as well, just separate from our stories.
EDIT- oh, we should totally come up with our own fancy titles XD
NVM, I can't find anything that sounds as cool as 'Absolute'
Actually, Impel and Incite sound cool, using a verb kind of like Exalt in FE. What do you guys think? Or does it just sound like a dumb idea in general?
30-Apr-2017 23:57:05 - Last edited on 01-May-2017 00:10:02 by SiráDuncan88
speaking of FE, i always imagine my character in those games just to see how he would interact with the others and how the other characters would react to his actions. helps me greatly with fine tuning his personality
No way, I do that too with my characters! (here and in RPs)
Maybe 'reset' wasn't the best word for me to use. It's just what we have going seems like a kind of 'next generation' kind of thing, rather than a continuation of the older mythos (FFA, absolutes etc.) that still takes place in the same multiverse but is an independent storyline, and i was just trying to kind of encourage that but now i think about it, that's basically what we've been doing all along, so...
yeah, just ignore my post it was stupid XD
I have a couple of ideas for story arcs- one is some kind of tournament, although I'm not sure if we really have enough people here for that. The other would be to introduce some kind of villain npc. Or there's your time-travel idea - would that be an alternate timeline then? could be interesting if the two timelines clashed and we got two versions of each character that have had different experiences and losses
I actually just got an idea for a story from that post earlier from the ultra-veteran Solid Bran. Don't think I've ever actually seen a post from him before.
It involves monsters. Trust me, it links together.

Birdsong, the rustling of grass and the howling of wind. These are what a young traveller hears over his own muffled footsteps as he wanders through an old field.
Now he is at the foot of some ancient hill. Pulling his green cloak over his face to shield him from the elements, he begins the flight of stone steps before him. Reaching the hilltop, he takes stock of the sight. Four large structures, not unlike monuments. The place is seemingly deserted, aside from a few scuff marks on the trodden ground indicating someone was here recently. Whether they are still here or have gone off to some other destination is unclear. If theyĺre still here, theyĺre either hiding or have not taken notice of this trespasser.
He leans forward to examine the worn engraving on one of the stones. He sees a name he recognizes, not as that of a friend or acquaintance, but of great renown throughout the lands he has travelled through. The other three bear similarly famous names.
Silence. A lone warrior rests and contemplates in solitude. A solitude which is very rudely broken by the sound of clinking on the ground. A very quiet noise that grows nearer. The sound of snuffling and a crackle of energy accompany, soon joined by a low growl.
It's niceŚand unexpectedŚthat you don't just want to throw out all our old stuff.)
You just said something nice to me, you've already sunk to that level. Might as well compliment Eno as well.
(was there one of these creation wars? I don't remember being involved in one...)
...Bloodthirsty much? *
EDIT- Oooh, I just had a neat thought, Ashlin, VMG and I can kind of form a technology/nature/magic trio (VMG representing nature)
*EDIT- actually I guess that's kind of the point of this thread

A green cloaked figure makes his way through a busy street comprising of an odd mix of medieval and modern-day looking buildings. As the space opens out, the crowds are gathering around a massive circular structure made of stone and glass, a recently built arena.
Standing at combatants' entrance, he surveys the battlegrounds, which appears to be a grey area with large hexagonal tiles and a barely visible blue force-field shimmering in the harsh sunlight around the edge, in order to protect any spectators from harm.
He enters the area, reaching to his side and taking, of all things, a large brown book with metal binding rings. The front cover is decorated with a brass phoenix pattern.

Wilderness Cave Entrance
As she approaches the caveĺs entrance, the priestess sees a large shape moving around just underneath the shadows, making a snuffling sound. It abruptly stops, as two piercing frosty specs emerge, watching her.
The shape slinks out of the entrance, revealed to be some huge beast, like a wolf but as tall as a human. Its matted, greyish blue fur shimmers and clinks as it paces the charred wilderness ground, snarling it this new arrival. The priestess soon realizes that its fur is not matted, but frozen together into clumps. An aura of freezing mist materializes where it walks, covering the ground in frost. This thing simply emanates cold.
The creature lets out a bloodcurdling howl into the air, then charges headfirst at its target, as more howls sound in the distance.

The wolf creature lets out a ghastly wail, scorched by the intense blast of flames.
It flails in the air, landing in a heap with a strangled whimper and a sound like ice on a lake cracking. As it pushes itself back up, a visible burn now smeared over its already gruesome visage, its coat re-freezes itself with the same chilling noise. Its glowing blue eyes stare in blind anger and fury as the priestess charges up another spell.
The creature inhales deeply, and lets loose a furious blast of freezing air and biting chips of frost.
(also, sorry these posts are short, I will probably start writing longer, more detailed ones after a while. Hopefully)
As it dies, its body freezes through completely, encasing itself in a thick layer of dry ice and trapping its killer. However, he is unaffected by the cold and simply pulls himself free, shattering it. It seems the battle is over at first, but the two fighters know better.
Only moments later, the sound of snarling and feet hitting the ground can be heard approaching from opposite directions.
The first beast to come into view is made obvious by its fierce golden-orange glow. Wisps of flame dance on the air as it breathes, and everywhere it walks it scorches the earth black. As it takes in the view, it appears to notice the frozen corpse of its cohort, and gives out a howl that sounds like the shriek of a firework, before launching itself at Barlor.
The ice from Christinaĺs spell encases the burning creature, but not long before it rapidly melts, dissipating with a painful whistling noise. The wolf snarls, slowed down but not stopped. It seems to limps slightly, as if greatly damaged by the spell.
Then, just as the priestess is about to deliver what could be the final blow, she hesitates. The wolf-like beast sees this and wastes no time in exploiting the opportunity. Charging wildly forward, it swoops out of the way of the delayed spell, eyes ablaze and red plasma trailing from its mouth like some infernal foam.
But instead of pouncing on Christina, the beast darts past her, instead moving toward Barlor, howling with uncontrollable rage.

But meanwhile, something lurks in the shadows, watching its prey. Its primary instincts tell it to charge in, pick off the wounded fighterůbut it knows it wonĺt be able to hold up against them, and on top of that it must report backů
And so, the obscured creature vanishes off into the shadows, the glint of its eyes behind Christina being the last they would see of it. For nowů
A Short While Later
ôAh! There you are!ö Barlor turns round as a familiar character approaches. ôIĺve been looking everywhere. Something oddĺs going on, these strange creatures are appearing all over the place and attacking people. Not just Gielenor, other worlds too.ö I look down at the frozen corpse and the pile of ash. ôErůlooks like you already ran into some.ö
Me: Barlor. You name is Barlor.
Barlor: Yes, whatĺs so funny?
Me: Nothing. Nothingĺs funny.
Barlor: Youĺre literally holding your mouth shut to stop yourself laughing.
Me: *Snort* No Iĺm not.
Barlor: Can we just get to the point?!
Me: OK, fine, fine. Well, Iĺm sorry, but I really donĺt have an explanation for where these creatures are coming from, all I know is a few days after your battle with Xox ended, these gateways started opening up, not just in Gielenor, but other places too. And all these strange monsters just start coming through them and terrorizing people. Honestly, Iĺm surprised it took this long for you to run into one of them. The gateways always close before anyone can get near them, so we donĺt know anything about them, either.
I have a kind of theory about what might be causing this. Could I show you both something, quickly?
I pull out a large brown book, which I open, sliding out a loose photograph. Placing on the ground, I channel some sort of magical energy at it. At once, it bursts into white flames, and a light aura-like energy appears, big enough for someone to walk through, which I do immediately, vanishing. The portal doesn't seem to give off any heat.
As Barlor and Christina enter the portal they find themselves on top of an old hill. In front of them are several standing stones with names engraved on them. Barlor might recognize the names of Magery, Eno and Master 1.
Me: Hey, are you two-
Barlor and Christina very hastily separate their hands
Me: Uh, anywayůrecently Iĺve been digging around, studying various pieces of loreůmostly about these beings called absolutes ľ Weĺve actually met two or three of them, you might see their names hereůWell, it turns out, they were a pretty big deal. Had this thing called the Forum Fight Alliance, and they basically ran everything here. But they havenĺt been seen or heard of for ages. Except for occasional appearances like the ones we saw.
Then, very recently, people just kind of decided they were gone, and started building monuments like this all over the multiverse. Thatĺs when these creatures started appearing, so I think the two are connected. My best guess is that with the absolutes gone, people are trying to find a way to seize power for themselves. Thereĺs been all kinds of stuff like rumours of relics and artefacts connected to them as well. I think someone is sending these monsters deliberately; they always show up in strategic places, and those wolf-like ones are sent out first to scout. What do you think?

From what Iĺve gathered, what weĺre actually dealing with here is probably just an old prototype dwarf cannon, so I suspected it would be somewhere in or near Keldagrim. On top of that, the locations of these attacks have been slowly getting near that area. We can probably get there quite quickly from the wilderness.
I walk back through the portal
As Christina explains her situation, the reality of how many people could be in danger hits me and my expression turns to shock.
Me: Where does he live?
We'll need to start placing protection around cities and towns to stop people being attacked, as well. I'll send out a message to the wizard guild and the major cities. I just hope they take what I say seriously...
I open my book and tear out several pages, which have drawings of various birds on them. I also write messages explaining the situation on paper, before casting some spell on the pictures which causes the paper to burst into a white aura like before. This takes on the likeness of the birds in the pictures, which carry the messages away.
Me: OK, so where do we need to go?
Barlor: Can't you just open another portal?
Me: I would need a photograph, which doesn't seem to be a thing on Gielenor anyway.
After Christina teleports us, we land in the main square of Falador, not too far from the commotion unfolding in the park. Several howls can be heard in the distance. From his spot on the walls, Ashlin would see a line of wolf like creatures surrounding the city. However, these do not appear to have any unusual properties like the three from the wilderness, save that they all bear metal plate armour.
A similar line of creatures surrounds the city of Varrock, whose walls are now bristling with nocked arrows. After a call to fire, these rain down upon the creatures, easily dispatching many of them. However, they still charge at the city, the Varrock guards stationed at the gates charging toward them.
Back in Falador
White knights and guards protect the city from the charging creatures, taking them out with ease, with Barlor and I (and possibly Christina and her husband) fighting alongside them. However, more of the same creatures steadily arrive to join their ranks through the rapidly appearing and disappearing portals.
Me: Thatĺs oddůthese wolves are dropping like flies and the guards havenĺt even broken a sweat. Why would they send practically harmless troops when they have stronger ones?
My thoughts are cut off as a sound like the sky tearing is heard, and a green blur streaks toward the city from the south. As it comes closer it appears to be some sort of dragon, which grinds to a halt above the wall, having spotted an unusual arrival. The dragon hovers, glaring inquisitively at Ashlin, before rocketing off again, heading northů
Cannon may overhear an odd conversation nearby
Guardsman: Cannon? Never Ĺeard of him. Yer saying these creatures are after him?
Messenger: Looks like it, but whoever wrote the message doubts theyĺll find him here. Do you think we can trust them?
Guardsman: Hmmůsounds suspicious to me. But best be on the lookout. If this person has any reason to lie to us, then they could be posing a threat themselves. Weĺll set up guards around the city, but not near where we keep the old cannon prototypesůthatĺs what theyĺre expecting, I think.
(*The messages were sent to Falador, Varrock, Keldagrim, Edgeville, Burthorpe and Rellekka. Also, wow, I didnĺt realize Ashlin had been here long enough to have been in the FFA, I didnĺt think heĺd been here much longer the VMG and me. So, I guess there are only 2 active Ĺ2nd generationĺ fighters now. Thatĺsůkind of worrying.)
if you can think of a good name for an everyman character, let me know (kind of a
In Falador, the incoming troops have been severely depleted. The arear surrounding the city is littered with the defeated creatures. Nevertheless, a steady stream of opponents approach the city, albeit fewer of them. And more cautiously. Almost as if theyĺre buying timeů
As Ashlin reads the captured memories of the wolf, he is bombarded by a storm of images.
First, he is greeted by a peaceful and verdant plain under a warm sky, nestled between forests and mountains. For a few seconds, the only sound is the melodic trickling of a stream nearby, before being broken by the cacophonous howling of the wolf-like creatures. The peace is broken through by fractured images of chases, hunts, and fleeing prey, running through the plains again, then suddenly, it stops. There is only cold and darkness in the memories. And the empty space is filled, for a brief second, by an obscured figure surrounded by stars, atop what Ashlin would recognize as a black hole.
Then a flurry of yet more images, but now they are far more familiar to the observer, fuzzy images of Magery, then all the other members of the FFA. All the while, the memories fill up with blind hatred and insanity until alien memories begin to leak in again, of huge scaled creatures with wings that are clearly draconic, and a booming, eldritch voice fills them like an empty hall.
Find the human citiesůcharge on themůkeep them occupiedů
Meanwhile, in Keldagrim itself, a noise similar to an aeroplane flying overhead can be heard from the entrance to the city. The ground starts to vibrate ominously, just as Cannon reaches his destination, where the old prototypes are displayed.
Me: Did anyone else see the dragon? It was actually flying northwards. *to myself* Iĺll have to be more careful around it than usualů
I take on a pensive expression as Jack explains the situation of getting to Keldagrim
Me: HmmůJack, was it? If I conjured a lyre, would that work? Or does it need to be a special kind? Also, I heard that thereĺs a shortcut you can take from the Grand Exchange. Maybe we could teleport to Varrock and use that.
Suddenly, Dong u Dead comes up out of nowhere and grabs Barlor, throwing him through at least two 4th walls and into some dungeon. The rest of us quickly follow suit, somehow managing to get through as well, despite none of this logically making sense.
After Barlor breaks through his chains with brute strength, we realize that we are in the cave that leads to Keldagrim.
Me: *to Dead* Wellůthat was convenient. Thanks.
The aeroplane like noise gets louder. We run right to the entrance of the city, waiting.
As Barlor emerges from the cave, he sees a shadow pass over Relekka in the distance.
Looking up he sees a dragon similar in appearance to Elvarg. It hovers for a few seconds, sends out a booming roar and then swoops, with frightening speed, right into the cave entrance the warrior just left.
Meanwhile, in the passageway, the others fell a string wind blowing their direction. The large reptile rockets through above the and smashes through the entrance to the city, landing just inside.
Me: Ahh! The thing's too fast, we've got to catch up with it!
I quickly summon a device out of solid light, similar to a jet booster. It shoots a beam of plasma backwards, launching me toward Keldagrim. While being thrown through the air into the subterranean city, I pull out the book from before and turn to one of the pages, ready to summon something when I land.
The dragon roars in defiance, being pinned to the wall of the cave, and thrashes about as Ashlin unleashes his barrage of attacks.
The creature lets out a deafening growl, which resonates throughout the cave. Stalactites crumble from the ceiling and crash down to the ground, one narrowly missing me as I roll out of the way.
The dragon breaks free, looking at the new tears in its wings. It roars in anger, as With Mila's Divine protection (SSBB) begins playing.
The dragon swoops across the river, landing in front of the fighters, and unleashing a breath attack similar to a laser, swinging its head in an arc to hit as many targets as possible.
The dragon screams in agony at its brutal dismemberment at the hands of Ashlin, sending out another laser, this time uncontrolled and poorly aimed. I get knocked back by an explosion caused by it and fall into the water.
Clambering back up, I run to wear Christina is standing with the others. We can see that the dragon is now in tremendous pain and is weak from blood loss. Barlor notices that my hair and some of my skin has been singed, and that I also don't seem weakened from being in the water.
Me: Now's our chance!
I point to the dragon, now back on the entrance side of the river, with Ashlin atop its head keeping it from attacking properly. As he drives his blade through it he punctures one eye. Another roar of pain resounds throughout the cavern.
Me: We can finish it off now.
I concentrate, conjuring a cone of light which beams over the river, solidifying and reshaping itself into a bridge temporarily. I seem to be straining myself less than I normally would be with a spell this large.

The dragon collapses with a weak screeching noise as it is stabbed yet again, this time in the neck. The look of contempt on its face suggests that it knows its time is up. It lifts its head up to stare at the fighters.
Dragon: *in a very coarse, damaged voice* Stupid...little-
But its last words are cut off as it is shot at point blank, finishing it off.
Me: Well that was certainly...something.
Me: So, uh...Barlor?
Barlor and Barlor 2: Yes?
Me: No, the other one -
Barlor: Huh, me?
Me: No, him!
I point to the unmasked Barlor and pinch my nose, sighing.
Me: So, what exactly is the situation in this other world? And how could we get there the fastest?
(Sorry it took so long for me to post, and that it's short)
I pull out some kind of magical device and send a message to someone, before stepping briskly through the portal.
Me: Well then, Iĺm ready whenever you are.
I bring up the rear of the group as we make our way to the bridge near the Seersĺ Village, and listen to Sarahĺs plan.
Me: What if the villages have been attacked or are hiding enemies? Weĺre not exactly the most inconspicuous adventuring party around, weĺre sure to be noticed if we go by the main roads and paths, even theyĺre not big cities. Is there any way we could scout the area ahead without having to actually send someone? Some kind of spell or device maybe. Or I guess we could just be really really careful. Or not. Stealth levels are frustrating anyway.
Putting the disguise on is straightforward enough, since I'm wearing ordinary clothes consisting of dark grey trousers and a light grey shirt, rather than robes. throwing the cloak over my shoulders as it's too big to wear underneath, I twirl my finger in the air and the garment darkness, turning black to fit with the armour. I then strap my inventory and book to my back so they're hidden underneath the cloak.
Me: How's the village? anything suspicious, or are we good to go?
I notice Christina is about to use water spells, however.
Me: Christina, I have an idea. I'm hopeless with water bit I have a grasp of lightning spells. Assuming that the trolls' rocky armour doesn't have any resistance to elements, I could add an extra lightning effect to you water spells for extra damage.
I flip open my sketchbook, tearing out a page and letting it float in the air in front of me. Placing my hand against it, it bursts into light and reforms into a weapon.
Running forward, I throw the water glaive like a javelin. Despite my bad throwing, I hit since the target's not too easy to miss. The high powered water jet of a blade pierces into the outer hide of the creature, although it doesn't seem fazed. With a blast of fire, I launch myself toward it, grabbing into the spear for support. Now on the creature's back, I attempt to slice at its rocky exterior.
Me: *thinking* Blast, I singed my hands...
I stumble as the massive troll thrashes around, clumsily keeping a grip onto the polearm impaled in its back. As VMG's attack hits it, the creature almost manages to throw me off. Pulling out another sheet of paper, I quickly fold it into a glider and gently launch it into the air.
The small, makeshift craft is carried on the wind toward Sarah, glowing and conjuring a quiver of explosive arrows

I flip summon Penguin Soldier!
I donĺt even bat an eyelid when Barlor is sealed in the other cave with Sarah.
Me: (to Jack and Christina) Hey, I thought you guys had known him for ages. I only met him a couple years ago or something and I know he can handle himself just fine. Besides, itĺs a cold, dark, underground ice dungeon. Thatĺs basically his terrain of choice.
Although I do stand back a bit as Ashlin performs yet another powerful attack on an enemy.
Me: Boy, you sure have a lot of powers. Careful you donĺt lose count. (thinking to myself) I almost forgot heĺs one of the alliance. Heĺs probably the most experienced and powerful member in the party. Best not get on his bad side, I guess. I suppose itĺs just us four now. Hopefully weĺll be able to get to Sarah and Barlor Further along the way.
And with that, I begin to follow Barlor 2.0 through the main dungeon toward to exit.
Meanwhile, in the ripper demon caves, Sarah and Barlor are making a run for it when out of a shadowy corner several ripper demons lurch at them - as abruptly as they appear, the ground before them erupts, and a hooded figure comes leaping out. The stranger lands solidly on the ground, driving a longsword straight into it.
The demons, having been momentarily distracted, pull themselves together and all pounce at once on the new arrival - the sword is twisted a full turn clockwise, and outcrops of rock surge forth, knocking the creatures out of the air. And back against the wall.
Stranger: (in a vaguely familiar voice) Quick, Iĺll help you get out!
(Iĺll leave it up to you whether thereĺs an exit to the cave nearby - just to let you know, this character can make tunnels through rocks and cave walls to help get through the dungeon, but he canĺt stabilize earth, so he canĺt get them back to the cave where the rest of the party were because if he tried he would just make a bigger cave-in.)
Christina, Jack, Barlor 2.0 and I make our way through the tunnel, shrouded in silence after the events at the dwarven camp. The journey is mostly uneventful but after a while we come across a section where the wall has collapsed on our left. A faint light and a chilling breeze escape through the opening.
Me: (pointing to it) Iĺm guessing thatĺs not an original part of the architecture.
As if in response, the chill grows stronger, before dozens of humanoid creatures formed from ice flock into the cave, looking at us in a rather menacing way. Several of them seem to be larger than normal, as if the harsh conditions and dark magic pervading the area has modified them. A few of them float like ghosts.
Me: Ice creatures? What are they exactly?
Jack: Icefiendsů these things normally live on top of Ice mountain, and if weĺre under that, we should be getting near our destination. But it looks like some of them are larger than usual, and there are even some revenant icefiends.
Me: Is that bad?
Jack: probably not, both those kinds are quite weak monsters. But the larger ones I havenĺt seen before, so we should be cautious of them.
(edit- I also don't know much about revenant creatures but I assume the ice-fiend revenants are quite weak since they have a low level and can be slayer level 1 assignments)

Me: We might be able to seal off the cave, but I can sense light coming from the outside, even though itĺs weak from here. I want to find out where it leads, if weĺre under a mountain then it might give us a good viewpoint!
Before I can set foot inside the tunnel, thereĺs a blast if frozen air. The party is pushed back a couple of feet, and the walls of the cave weĺre in begin to frost over. Large icicles form on the ceiling.
Jack: Look out!
Christina, Barlor 2.0 and I just manage to jump back as the icicles being dropping down, targeted at us. After a moment of chaos avoiding the frozen shards, a much larger icefiend enters the room and begins attacking us as the luminescent icefiend theme begins playing.
Me: Iĺll take care of that attack!
I use pictoconjuration to summon a fireshield to protect us from the falling icicles.
Me: That will last longer than something made with energy conjuration.
I begin firing the same fireblades at the boss.
With a sweeping hand gesture, I pull the fire in the shield, concentrating it into a barrier that shields us only from the front. After this, I follow up Christinaĺs attacks by throwing more of the feather shaped fireblades at the luminescent icefiend.
Just as the fight seems to be getting back on track, thereĺs a crash and dust clouds up the cave for a few seconds. A large troll covered in ice lumbers in and roars aggressively.
This is cut short by a large rock falling squarely on its head. Thereĺs a slightly awkward pause as it rubs its scalp, getting its bearings again and glaring at the party as if eyeing up its next meal.
The troll slams its fist into the ground a huge wall of icicles springs up from the ground, filling the height of the cave and splitting the party in two, with Christina and Jack still facing the icefield, and Barlor 2.0 and me finding ourselves face to face with an already charging Icy Bones.
Luckily what remained of the fire barrier split in two, leaving a smaller version protecting each pair.
Me: Iĺll weaken it!
I tuck my arms in before fling them outwards, summoning a barrage of glowing orange lights that spin around, forming into a steady vortex of the flame-quills. As the troll brute forces its way toward us, bits of the ice covering it break away as its health is chipped at by the vortex.
The stranger walks forward and pulls on a heavy glove before picking up a shard of the orb. What with it being quieter and lighter in here, Barlor and Sarah see that he looks identical to me except for round glasses instead of square ones, and shorter darker hair thatĺs spiked back. He has two grey stripes but seems the same age nonetheless. He also seems a little more well-spoken.
Stranger: This is some good crystal. Itĺs still got a hefty amount of that dark enchantment, whatever it was. Shame it was wasted on such a depraved spell.
As the cavern begins to shake, he nods at Sarahĺs comment.
Stranger: Agreed. If youĺll give me a moment -
Crouching down, he places his free hand on the ground and closes his eyes for a few seconds, as if concentrating.
He then drives his sword into the ground, turning it almost like a key in a lock. The ground beneath the three tremors and rises a little. The rock around breaks into pieces and moves around it, propelling the tile theyĺre on straight toward the cave wall.
Before either of the other two have time to yell that theyĺre heading straight for the wall, they make impact - thereĺs a cloud of dust, and when it clears theyĺre still charging along, now with a new large arch in the wall behind them.
They slow down in a large boiling cavern where lava falls descend lazily into a murky abyss. The only relatively stable way across seems to be a natural stone bridge leading to an opening on the other side of the pit. On a wider, circular section halfway across there seems to be three suits of dark armour standing, like the type the black knights have but more elaborate. There seems to be a glimmer of red in their eyes for a second, but as the party spots them it dies out, as if theyĺd just imagined it.
(Yeah, I like the improvisational stuff we can do on the journey through the caves, like having a monster of the week without it feeling like the story is taking a backseat)
I wince slightly as Barlor 2.0 is hit in the face, despite him seeming unfazed. As he readies his counterattack. I pull my attention from maintaining the vortex, casting a beam of light at the hammer, which begins to glow as it is held back. As the Fremmenik warrior swings to meet the trollĺs face, a layer of solid glowing light encases the hammer, detonating with searing heat on impact and allowing the weapon to smash right through the ice covering the trolls body.
The Icy armour shatters with a blast of light, scattering shards across the cave floor which refract dancing lights across the walls, as Barlor 2.0 decimates the trollĺs natural defense while looking pretty cool doing so.
The beast roars in pain, thrashing around and making icicles erupt from the ground around it. It notices me with its narrowed eyes and sends of wall of ice at me. I just dodge, being grazed in the arm.
Me: *muttering under my breath* Good thing I finished the fire training before now.
We both seem to have taken injuries but nothing too serious. Icy Bones is now skulking behind its shield of ice, giving us a little time to recover. I run over to Barlor 2.0
Me: How do we finish him off?
Meanwhile, The Icefiend is looking pretty annoyed at its new asymmetrical face, having had a large chip broken off it from Jackĺs attack. It makes a sound like boiling water hissing on ice. Regenerating the ice on its hands, it throws a ranged and magic attack at Jack, who narrowly dodges yet again, getting a few hits in. The creature staggers back, and on reflex encases itself in ice. Icicles begin falling from the ceiling, but this time thereĺs no fire shield above to stop them.
Barlor: Hey, we could use some back up here!
The stranger looks up quickly, startled. He was leaning cautiously over the edge of the pit and fidgetting
Stranger: ErůRight! Maybe I could - er - support you from here! Yes, Iĺll make the bridge collapse under them-
Barlor: And take us with it?!
Stranger: Oh, rightůyes, that wouldnĺt work.
He grits his teeth, shuts his eyes as tightly as humanly possible and uses his Earth-sliding technique again. As he nears the armour, he reaches out and instantly knows where they are.
Stranger: These things arenĺt metal, theyĺre glass!
As he yells this, he charges right up to the one that hasnĺt been attacked yet, propels himself into the air with a rocky outcrop and descends up on it, cutting down on its shoulder. The obsidian simply moves aside as his sword passes through, the arm falling clean off. However, this doesnĺt faze the armour, which swings at him with the halberd one-handed. Since he is too close to be hit by the blade, the pole, which is metal, swings toward him. He ducks but stumbles back and opens his eyes. He finds himself staring behind him into the inky depths. He freezes on the spot, whimpering slightly.
Doorknob I think in this story Varrock was completely taken over by Zemouregal. Although i think it was meant to be fairly recent, so the events you described could have happened not long ago, before he took over
EDIT- then again, this is basically a thread where people play fight and generally mess around so we can pretty much get away with the 'a wizard did it' thing
Also, VMG I thought only Christina had an evil counterpart - or did you mean parallel counterpart? Does Sarah have one?

As the armour plummets into the pit below, The swordsman clenches his eyes shut and jumps right into the center of the platform, relaxing visibly.
He stands up straight, eyes still closed, as one of the animated guards paces toward him. A slight smile crosses his face is it breaks into a run, brandishing the halberd.
The weapon comes sweeping from the side, but the swordsman is already underneath the swing - In the same motion, he makes an upwards gesture with his right hand, and a pillar of rock juts out of the ground, trapping the pole. The armour wrenches it free and steps back, only being scratched on the breastplate by the blade of the sword. With a grimace on his face he advances, making wide cuts at his opponent - the blade meets the pole of the halberd with a resounding clang, and he grunts. This happens several more times, but no matter what he tries He canĺt find an opening to get past the weaponĺs pole, the armour is too fast for him.
For a split second he catches his breath, and the obsidian knight lifts its weapon up and delivers a mighty smash into the ground, which he just dodges, leaping back. He holds his hand out and clenches his fist, but nothing happens.
Stranger: Of course it canĺt be that easyů
Changing tactics, he holds his sword in front of him and concentrates. A flash of light runs up the blade, which now gleams more brightly. As the armour runs in for another cut, The stranger rushes forwards and sweeps upward.
The two chunks of metal hit the ground with a clang, and the armour is left staring at the one obsidian shard it now holds. Instantly it makes to stab its opponent.
The improvised dagger rockets straight into the strangers chest.

Finally opening his eyes, the stranger turns toward wherever the third knight is to see whatĺs going on.
Me: If any of you want to recover or prepare to continue, Iĺll go check out the cave. Donĺt worry, Iĺll be back in time for us to press on.
Scrambling through the small icy tunnel, I find myself emerging onto a cold mountain-top. From here I can see below the mountain on the east side, what look like the remains of a monastery. Beyond that, a dilapidated village with fresh signs of destruction. Beyond that, an even more ominous looking city.
Me: Hm, if thatĺs supposed to be Edgeville I guess that could Ashlinĺs doing. Then that city further in the distance used to be Varrock, huh?
I make my way back to the party.
Me: Weĺre underneath Ice mountain, from the look of it. And pretty near to Edgeville, too. Thereĺs a ruined monastery where we may be able to take refuge before we seek out Ashlin, Dungeoneer Barlor and Sarah.

As we leave the Ice Caves and make our way toward the monastery the Lorule Field music beings playing
^I donĺt normally suggest music from something I havenĺt played/watched, but I did here because I thought it fit really well. You used the dark world theme earlier in the story so using this now has that Ĺsecond half of the gameĺ feel to it.
Me: Well, Iĺm eager to catch up to Ashlinůbut our overall mission is to stop Zemouregal and ousting his forces is part of that. I think it might be worth recapturing the monastery. If not, I agree with Jack that we should search it, since there might be hostages, or some handy info. If we stay out of sight for a while to make our plans, I can get a back-up escape spell ready.
Now safely across the bridge, the stranger kicks back onto the ground in relief. While heĺs at it, he places his palm onto the ground and listens.
Stranger: I sense weĺre near the exit. That name you guessed is close but sounds odd to me. I thought I noticed footsteps that were eerily similar to mine around this area on Gielinor. Are you from a world parallel to this one, by any chance? Heĺs with some others, and theyĺre much further ahead, near some kind of structure, but thatĺs all I can tell from this distance.
(sorry, quite a short post. Hope there's enough in there)

Me: I donĺt know what that flare was but it could be Ashlinĺs signal. With that, and this worldĺs Christina, maybe we need to focus on getting to Varrock after all. I think we can do both without losing any time though.
I hold out two objects - during this time I have procured a crystal that seems to glow faintly, as well as a smaller one tied roughly to some string. I hang the smaller one around my neck and hold the other in my hand.
Me: OK, Iĺve prepared a spell so I can search this place while youĺre getting to Varrock. If you reach the city walls or otherwise need help, just crush this crystal and Iĺll be teleported to wherever you guys are. That way I can search this place and you donĺt need to wait for me. Itĺll only last bout half an hour, but when the timeĺs almost up Iĺll teleport myself to you anyway, hopefully having got some information that can help us. Then we can all be ready to enter Varrock. If anyone wants to help search the building, I can make you one of these as well.
If anyone chooses to enter the monastery, then I make a crystal for them. However they will have to sneak in themselves as my method of getting in is a bit awkward. I cast a spell which causes light to simply pass through me. Unfortunately this makes me blind while it is active, and so I stumble a lot as I make my way toward the monastery.
Me: (good thing no-one can see me making an utter fool of mys-) OW.
I stub my toe on a root of one of the trees outside. One of the monks pops his head out of the door and looks around in confusion, fortunately not noticing the rest of the party. Once heĺs gone, I clumsily half climb, half fall over the wall lining the path up to the building.
Me: [muttering as I pull the hood up] I am not good at stealth levelsůLetĺs see if thereĺs anything here we can use.
I begin striding around the complex as if on patrol, and the disguise seems to work.
(sorry I didn't realize you were waiting for me to post)
Legion: Is there a problem?
Me: He could have easily been taken care of without any killing.
Legion shrugs as I pull a small clay jar and brush from the recesses of my cloak. I crouch down to carefully collect the ashes, while continuing the conversation.
Me: Your nameĺsůLegion, right? I donĺt think weĺve been introduced yet. Anyway, if the others need us they have a means of summoning us. I can only stay here for about half an hour though, then the spell will wear off and Iĺll have to go on footů
I show Legion the small crystal.
Legion: You have a portal spell that becomes useless after half an hour?
Me: ůIĺm still working on that one. I donĺt suppose that monkĺs memories have any information about this place? Any other prisoners, or maybe a map or something we could find that might help us? If not, I can get us both to the rest of the party now.
(I donĺt know whether Mad Guy had plans for what was in the monastery. If he didnĺt then Iĺm happy to come up with something-or if you prefer, Legion and I can join the battle.
Also, I donĺt know too much about Legionĺs character but I imagine he would find the spell my characterĺs using unimpressive. I hope I havenĺt written something really out of character)
Also, out of nowhere penguins drop onto Haxzell's head

*meanwhile on the castle roof*
*The emperor hears a rumbling behind him as the masonry crumbles and then moves back into place, Duncan 2.0 emerging from the opening, sword held out*
Dunc 2.0: I thought I sensed a rat sneaking around. Who are you?
*The emperor, without a hint of surprise or fear, slowly turns his head, his face still fixed in its demented smile. Dunc 2.0 suddenly freezes in place, breaking out in a cold sweat as if heĺd just stared death in the face. The earth crumbles beneath him again as he flees the scene, terrified. He doesnĺt even stop to breathe until he can sense that no footsteps are following him.*
Emperor: Ah yes, it will be so much more fun to watch you all squirm in agony on the battlefield first.
Dunc 2.0: That was an extremely close call. Who on earth was that ů
*The earth-mage makes his way toward the castle where he finds-*
Dunc 2.0: Oh, hello.
Me: Oh great, as if one of me wasnĺt bad enough. Why is there a dead animal on your face?
Dunc 2.0: ůer, youĺre in danger of growing one too but nevermind. What happened here?
Me: I was on my way to regroup with my allies and they all got zapped away somewhere. Thereĺs at least another here but he cloaked himself when we got here. I think heĺs infiltrating the place.
Dunc 2.0: Um. OK. Well, er, it would appear thereĺs some sort of conflict going on in the nearby room so we should probably go and assist.
*Itĺs at this point that there is a massive, abrupt shaking*
Dunc 2.0: Get down!
*Dunc 2.0 jumps in front and shields us both from the flying rocks. As the destruction clears we are treated to a view of the now destroyed palace and the scene which unfolds in what was the throne room. I am about to barge in when 2.0 blocks my way.*
*We watch as Sarah overcomes the pendantĺs powers and destroys it. Then as she begins the attack on Zemouregal alongside Dave and Legion, we both rush forwards in exact sync and 2.0 readies his sword into wrath stance with a glint of steel while I conjure a lance of solidified light. We jump into the battle*
OK, so I wasn't sure exactly what you would have the Emperor do in that situation but I kind of got the feeling that he's using the battle as a way to entertain himself so would probably let someone less powerful than him go in order to watch them fight instead. I was going to have my alternate try and face off against him and fail but survive but considering how powerful he probably is, this option seemed more suitable.
Dunc 2.0: We should sort this out for the others.
I turn to Zem.
Me: Here, you can add another law to your list.
I fabricate solid light chains which I fling throughout the area. The glowing constructs snake around the zombies and keep them in place
Dunc 2.0: Keep your army away from its weakness!
As Dunc 2.0 drives his sword into the floor, the ground begins to shake as hundreds of rocky spikes begin to erupt from the floor, impaling and puncturing the zombies and crushing them to a pulp, thanks to their aversion to earth attacks. He pulls the weapon back out, brushing dust off one of his shoulders.
Me: Reanimate that.
Dunc 2.0: We should stay cautious just in case he can.
We continue to deal with any undead forces, allowing the others to focus on Zemouregal unhindered.
Dunc 2.0, gesturing toward the heavily injured but still fighting Zemouregal: Is that what heĺs called? The emperor?
Me: I think itĺs someone else heĺs working for. Thatĺs our ultimate target. Heĺs Zemouregal. Either way he needs to go down too.
We make our way toward the skirmish with Zem. Having remembered seeing Sarah throw some kind of pendant to the ground before, I turn back quickly to face the Barlor V Barlor fight.
Me: Hey! Mad Guy! I think theyĺre using some kind of device on the neck to control people! Maybe he has one!
I run back to the others, moulding a wad of solid light with my hand which forms into a spear which I use to cut down several rows of zombies on the way.
Dunc 2.0: Hmmůperhaps if we keep that Zemouregal alive he could lead us to his emperor. What do you say?
Me: Well it sounds risky to me with someone as powerful as him, but maybe. What about you guys?
