If you cant have pvm bosses on comp then you cant have skilling bosses on comp either
If Big game hunting is a skilling boss then it shouldn't be a comp req

my argument is that bgh is a skilling boss and there is the potential of a group bgh so we should not add it in the first place as opposed to doing another comp rework years down the line and piss the community off

skillling vs monster=svm
player vs monster=pvm

svm should not be treated any different to pvm

I had no issue doing it but its more about the definition of comp

Since it's literally the reaper all over again - a pure achievement, which isn't acknowledging the first kill in some way - it's just consequent yeah.

I'd suggest returning the compass in its place (since that also involves killing the dinos), but I guess it's too RNG heavy for a plain comp req. Or dunno - add a cheevo for the hunter outfit blueprints and quick traps and make that a comp req.

They removed Reaper because it has forced group bosses, which made it especially difficult considering many players did not want to take players with low KC unless these players were paid a "leech fee".

For Big Game Hunter, there's no such issue as it's a solo non-combat boss. Jagex is changing Big Game Hunter next Monday to give you a flat 5 attempts per hour at each dinosaur, regardless if you're caught (that currently removes 1 attempt). This is no different to those solo bosses in some quests, so Jagex will have to remove quests as well if they remove Big Game Hunter from the requirements.

Magister was removed as a requirement and that was easy solo content
My issue with this is that if they develop group big game hunter style they will add it to comp and current approach is to have no bosses on there at all so they should be consistent

But... Magister was removed with every other boss kill requirement and not because he was solo but because he was required by the Reaper Crew achievement. I don't think anyone went out of their way to say "I can't do Reaper because the Magister is too hard".

I'd be interested in a Group Big Game Hunter simply because all of the current monsters are soloable (note that many people say removing all bosses was a poor move, but keeping group bosses only encouraged leeching).


By process of elimination, we can infer that BGH in its current form should be a comp requirement because:
1. You can do it yourself.
2. It's new content post-comp rework (this is exactly when and where I'd expect a new requirement).
3. It's only combat in spirit.

I have some friends that don't have reaper because they dont have 111 slayer so thats a skilling cap onto reaper still

For me reaper is the reason i pvm, i was weak at pvm but needed to do aod for comp
My clan held a teaching session and that was that now i pvm, 95% of the time get top left drop in aod

People who offer Leeching service can very well make more money doing the boss so its a payment for their time, its payment for a service as opposed to a goods payment in the ge

You can do it yourself - sure, but is that to say all group content should be removed from comp? So take away barbarian assault?

New content - yah we want new requirements but they should be in keeping with the concepts (no bosses on comp)

Its only combat in spirit- so combat is a dirty word that shouldn't be on comp? This is exactly my issue combat gets uneven representation
