Let us switch worlds when we’re in combat with npcs. This would not apply to pking in the wilderness or any other pvp activities outside the wilderness such as free for all dueling and mini games.

However, it is a hassle to change worlds in an area with aggressive mobs because you log in to someone already farming an area you want. And seeing that not only is it impolite to crash other players, it will also reduce your experience or profit gains, it is in both yours and the other player’s best interests to change worlds.

The trouble is, you cannot if you are in combat.

This is irritating as players would either need to teleport with the use of items or spells or run outside to world hop. Only to realize they will need to repeat this if the new world they select is also ‘full.’

In the case of abyssal combat training, the problem is even worse. Although players can check the activity from within the safe ring of the abyss, they cannot exit to the outer aggressive ring once they finally find an empty world, meaning, in addition to time taken to get back to the outer ring, they will need to risk all their gear and supplies AGAIN, making it worse than switching worlds in locations outside the wilderness.

Please allow players to change worlds when they are in combat only with npcs.

There was no safe area I could log out off in the abyss, unless I want to risk my gear going through the goddamn wild a second time. The only solution was to wait it out a.k.a crashing others.

Is the above truly the runescape spirit? Because if it is then I may as well intentionally aggravate the other rift trainers by not caring who is in the abyss when I log in. But then again, hey, I'm not to blame for disruptive behaviour since most of the community is as fine with the inability to switch worlds while in combat just as much as they are fine with a non instanced abyss.

One compromise I can reach in regards to the risk issue with other combat scenarios: Make it so you cannot switch worlds in combat during boss fights, quest fights or any activity that already filters out other people, for example, anywhere that has an instanced option. Hopefully, this will solve the issue this idea has with bossing and risky activities.
