Support. Ideas to increase skills to 120 pander to a small part of the player base that wants to grind themselves to death. Being 120 slayer, invention and dungeoneering I don’t really feel that I can do much more than at 99 to be honest.

1-99 wasn’t exactly balanced in the first place, so now there is an additional problem. The updates are no longer beneficial because Jagex made us rush to 120 with no real reason for it. I’m pretty sure that if slayer wasn’t 500k-1m Xp an hour, and corrupted creatures were released within 99 bracket with some sort of a benefit to killing then, not many players would complain that the update was bad. Same with dungeoneering, if floors were unlocked each level and xp gain was cut in 2 it would still feel as the same dungeoneering skill.

On the topic of dungeoneering, the unlocks are so old and unbalanced to the game that it’s not even funny. A skill that requires a user to get 120 with t 80 weaps as a reward is just laughable.

And we now get players who want to leave unbalanced skills as they are and instead increase the lv cap without dealing with the fundamental problems of those skills. Some even put out ideas to fill the 120 gap, without really explaining why those additions cannot be used for 1-99 range.

Its almost like this game was designed to be a grindfest from day 1. Are you sure you should be playing a game you don't enjoy?
Where did you read that I don’t enjoy the game... strange people on the internet, ngl.

Not too crazy to assume that with how much you've complained. Forgive me for making this obvious connection.
Not forgiven. 120 skills is not the way forward. Your crazy assumptions is what is stopping you from realising it.

Agree fix what needs fixing forget 120s. I dont know why people keep saying were complaining about new content when extending old content is what 120s do. No wonder so many people have quit playing leave 99s where they are and bring actual new content.

you seem to lack understanding on what new content is.
you seem to lack it too. Repackaging old content under a new coat of paint is not new.

120 should only come into the game, if jagex can make the content for it - otherwise keep it at virtual leveling.

Invention was great but soon fell off due to promises not being kept (Ie elven tech tree) And other things - waiting 3 years for a content update was also pretty bad.

I was excited for 120 slayer - i am 200mill xp - but the lack fo new mobs, especially those to fill the 100-120 gap is lacking, i know they do not want to bombard the game with new slayer mods and thinking up unique rewards is hard - but cmon, they should've thought about this before making 120 slayer a possibility.
This is how I feel as well. All those 120 or 200m players advocating for increase in the cap for some reason completely forgot that slayer brought almost nothing new, invention was underwhelming.

What are the chances that 120 in other skills will actually be good, if jagex thinks that adding a perk to 120 capes is a huge update to make a front page post about? Have fun syphoning different coloured energies for 200 hours straight.

Well thats why doing any of this is completely optional.

If you dont like it dont partake in it. Doesnt mean others should be forced to miss out just because you arent pleased with something.

It is not completely optional if we want to keep our comp/trim capes, sorry if we dont want to be running around in max/skill capes. Jagex just poll all future 120s so I can vote no and hopefully there wont be anymore 120s.
Rs3 polls are sadly a sham. We have seen it with solak already. Jagex has no principals when it comes to following through on what players want. Then they also have the audacity to go on reddit and blame us for criticising them for lack of ideas.

But don’t get me wrong, if tomorrow jagex comes out and says that they will act for the foreseeable future only based on the outcome of the 120 skills poll I will command them for the move. As it stands now, there is barely trust in what jmods say nowadays.

Completely agree with OP. Mining and Smithing Rework was awesome so far and I don't see the point in making more skills 120 without reworking their actual content. Many people have also been proposing a Construction rework to be the following.
Construction is an interesting skill that can benefit from new ideas and maybe different training methods. Would definitely be interesting to see where the skill can evolve to.

I also agree that mining and smithing rework, was good after testing it out. The only complaint I would say is that for the time spent, there is nothing really new added apart from masterwork armour. We still do the same training methods more or less and got a shift in the ore tiers. But that is really about it. The skills did become afkable, which I don’t really think is the best change to be honest.

Well we can agree to disagree, I will always vote against anymore 120s if given the option or make myself vocal if not given the option. Time and energy should be put into new areas not beating a dead horse for 30 more skill levels. If people are bored and quitting with the levels at 99 max what do you think having to do them to 120 will do. Ive played 15 years or so and Ive never had 1 person say im quitting because skills only go to level 99.....
Valid points. I did however see people quit when 120 slayer was released.

i think that, if its done right (using invention), some levels 120 like herbblore, summoning and prayer could consume a lot of items IN GAME wich would make the game healthier (as long as the new summ, pray and pots wont be TOO OP). So in my point of view , its obvious that making some skills level 120 (not all, like combats skills for example, they should stay 99 for ever), will consume items and make the market healthier and there fore the game aswell.
We have item consumption skill and it’s called invention. Reduction of items in the economy doesn’t make it healthy, because those items become overpriced. Demand for items in the economy makes the economy healthy. Not the same things.

You also touch upon a second issue, that you want 120 skills but the benefit from getting 9x more experience to be miniscule. Then what is the point in raising those skills to 120 in the first place. If at 120 you are 10% better off than you were at 99, why not release an items into the game that makes you 10% better off and not raise the cap of skills to 120? Easier and faster too.

120 skills shouldn’t be about prolonging the exact same grind at faster exp rates or be justified by bettering the economy. Because at the end of the day, faster exp rates and constant market manipulation by jagex is what is making the economy unhealthy in the first place.

To everyone saying it'll give people something to do or something about extending others gameplay guess what new skills will also do both of these things. We dont need an old 99 pushed to 120 to give people something to do we need new things to keep the game interesting to make people want to play instead of being bored by same ole crap.
Best post by far. I would rather they release new skills than beat a dead bourse with raising caps to 120.
