Hey,

Jagex went into a new direction with the mining and smithing update, removing the skilling items as a drop from monsters to bring value back to skilling. But why would they stop at mining and smithing. There is still lots of skill drops from monsters that devalue skilling items.
Like for example watermelons. Why would any monster drop watermelons? Makes no sense at all. Same for herbs like harralander and tarromin, why would any monster drop them?
It devalues the skilling of lower levels getting those items and that takes away from the attractiveness of the game for new players.
Food is slightly different as it is used during combat extending durability at mobs but still, why would a monster drop seaweed?
The humanoids can still drop some items like herbs, mayb a talisman here and there,a few runes. But not monsters no,makes no sense.

So ya,i fully expect blizzard to continue in this direction, eventually removing virtually all skilling items from the drop tables, replacing them with gold coins.

What you guys think,is this the direction the game will go and will skilling items finally get the value they deserve?

I hope other items go up as well especially herbs because I used to love back in the day doing herb runs I still do bloodweed herbs from time to time. Also i saw that the prices of grimy avantoe were not even 1k each which made me sad lol. Mod Timbo said that he was trying to increase the price of herbs and seeds but all they've been doing is going down :( do u think the price of herbs will go up in the future??
Also kwuarm seeds are 9k each which is good but how come they so much more than other seeds??
I really like how u can't get ore from pvm now even though the spirit stone drops kinda suck

Removing skilling supplies from monster drops is a horrid idea for the economy right now. I expect to see an impact from inflation thanks to newly added salvage which autoalches with spring cleaner.

Jagex should stop trying to control the market but instead give incentives for the items to be used up in large quantities, such as invention. Then let the players decide how much they want to spend on them.

Yes I do agree with that partially. I was expecting them to do so as well based on what they said when they did release dungeoneering. Part of the goal was to clean up all the unused "junk" in peoples bank. It did work for some items but there is still tons of items left.

Maybe a sort of system where you can trade lower herbs for higher herbs or secondarys at some sort of ratio, maybe even trade for a little xp directly. or make more "junk" items processable with the dungeoneering machines and then you get more usefull items out of them.

I still think removing skilling items from the drop tables would be a good idea though.
