What is going on? January has 1 update (Stalker creatures) and the rest are all bug fixes and few additions which should just be patch notes. Replayability of the quest/event is not an update whatsoever.

We start February with replayability of the boss previously available in game through MXT. New event which adds 3 new cosmetic items (boo hoo, TH gets full sets every week)

Stop calling this new content when you also:

1. Create good looking, easier to get outfits available only through MXT.
2. Create an event to obtain faceless assassin gear through MXT.
3. Create a cave for divination training D&D also through MXT.

Then you have the audacity to release those apologetic posts and videos all the time, saying that things will change. This is a disgrace. Either stop saying lies every time you communicate with us, or stop with MXT>Real content strategy.

I didn't vote for quality of life updates. I want them to be incorporated into patch notes, where they are supposed to be in the first place, and not as the main update.

We have the following upcoming updates (which I consider an update and not just a patch job) that we know of:

1. Solak boss.
2. TT Rework
3. Bank Rework
4. RS Mobile.
5. M/S Rework.
6. Skilling diversity.
7. Brimhaven agility rework.
8. 2 small quests.
9. Rebuilding Edgeville event.
10. Seers village redesign.
11. Group Iron man.

Essentially 1 boss, 2 quests and edgeville event as for the NEW things to do. The rest are just reworks and expansions to the skills (same exact grind as before, just coloured with a different paint and rewards). Essentially, barely anything new to do.

The issue that I am having, is that if those are the only updates planned for in 2018, we can essentially expect one coming out every month. BUT, we will be getting full 50 weeks worth of TH promotions, maybe once, maybe twice a week.

50 TH and 11 updates. This is my issue. Even if I don't buy keys this affects me tremendously. If there is nothing to do in the game there are no players to sustain the game. This leads to a more aggressive MTX strategy, to the point where new updates may be locked behind a grind wall or 10 TH keys.

And I know that the topic is controversial, but this is getting ridiculous to the point that I can no longer tolerate.

We need more than just a 3 week pause on TH Tuesday promotions. There should be a balance between new content and MTX.

I would not want to play the game where new D&Ds, new Bosses, new Quests, new useful items are only available through TH. But this is the trend that I see coming right now.

Faceless assassin promotion:

"Get your contract by opening Treasure Hunter (Ironmen should speak to Diango) during this promotion. Complete all 16 tasks on the Assassin’s Contract to unlock the full outfit in blue, then prestige and re-complete the tasks multiple times to unlock more colour options, plus weapon overrides and the assassin’s walk override!"

Cavern of Tainted Memories:

"Not gained enough energy in your two-and-a-half minutes? Find extra tainted energy whilst training divination from your usual wisps. Or, win the weapon tokens and extra energy on Treasure Hunter directly."

Premier club:

"The Premier Club Vault is a new, Premier Club-exclusive D&D which gives you one minute to open as many chests as you can to win rewards - the bigger the chest, the better the prize. It can be accessed through a new portal in the Grand Exchange in Varrock."

Do you see the issue here? They are creating in game events/dungeons/D&Ds behind an extra paywall. Sure, I can get a taster of the content, but the main purpose of that is to entice me to spend IRL money on activities which should have been open to all at the beginning.

MTX may be required to generate a decent profit, but I've seen games lose a huge customer base to this. They are still running, with no decent updates for months on end, and just new, increasingly expensive content locked behind a 1000 hour grind or a $5 unlock.

I like the grind to a certain extent. I wouldn't have been able to built my accounts without it. I see content coming into the game which I could enjoy myself, but I can't, because its a constant RNG grind. While someone with a few TH keys or premier membership has a clear advantage in terms of access to all the features.

MMORPG is not a dying genre, so I don't know what you are on about.

The issue here is not that free players can participate in the activity. The issue is that in game activities are now introduced in order to entice players to spend money on MTX. Maybe you can complete the whole event without buying a single bond or key, but the fact that those assets will be removed from the game at some point is what triggers me. Then we also don't get real content, which is supposed to be financed by those MTX in the first place.

Another week another disappointment. Good to know M&S beta finally began, which was supposed to have been fully released in 2017 already.

Now we also get additional SGS outfit, which looks better than the event items we can currently get.

I also bet that tomorrow is another TH promo, making it 2 MTX updates for the price of 1 horrible update and a long-overdue beta. Where is there money going to?

why does it matter, th is the only thing that equates newbs with experienced players

The reason why it matters is explained in post #1. If we got tons of content together with TH promos, your comment would be valid, because it wouldn't matter. But since we are not seeing an increase in content or quality of content reciprocal to the investment into MTX I think it does matter a lot.

im assuming youre all trimmed comp and max exp, phat sets, etc?
theres like 20 years of content

Although you are right that there is already content in the game to complete, the MTX was introduced with intention to fund NEW game assets.

What is happening right now is that barely anything new is coming out, Jagex is using us as unpaid beta testers and still pumping out 1-2 promotions every week. Don't you feel that it is a little bit absurd?

Nobody is saying that those events are MTX. What they are, as you said, are recycled content and nothing new. Rewards look like something you would get if you got screwed in the SGS store.

So our membership money + your MTX money are not being used to finance the game further. They are being used to generate profit alone. There is nothing wrong with making profit, but you can't keep making videos apologising that the content is late, or that it is coming, and then also say that MTX is required to make them.

So to spell out the issues, which should already be evident from post 1:

1. We are being lied to with regard to new content needing additional MTX.
2. We are being lied to with regard to a reduction in MTX.
3. We are being lied to with regard to 1 MTX = 1 Game update every week.
4. We are getting recycled content more often than real content.
5. Rewards from recycled and new content do not look as pleasing as MTX rewards.
