I somewhat agree for raids and certain bosses, because it's nigh on impossible to get a team without spending stupid amounts of money to people that offer to teach others, and a few of the bigger threads on the forums don't allow people without experience to even attempt the raids/bosses, it's kind of sad.
Konotasaid: Yet, group activities can also be 'completed'.
That is technically speaking true, but I do think he's on to something in regards to tasks etc. for comp that require other players in order to be completed. It's not just limited to group bossing, certain tasks that may involve content that can't actually be done without other players IE. Ardounge's castle wars hard tasks are an eventual issue as well.
Granted it's not impossible to find people for it but given the state of minigames etc. in the current climate that is sometimes easier said than done. Group content is great when people are playing it but once it starts losing its shine (which is inevitable) and players don't bat an eye at it anymore, that's when the issues start.
In fact, the only way I finally
(after two years)
got to finish those two Ardounge hard tasks, which was the only thing stopping me from completing that Ardounge hard tasks, was thanks to the winter weekend that is currently on. Any other time I tried it was always dead. I know the thread's topic is about group bossing but it is a pretty wide net that covers more than just bossing.
I understand this is an MMO but when the numbers can't keep such content reliably floating for the playerbase when its also tied to something like comp then it starts becoming a barrier to progress after a while. Group content 10 years or more years ago? It would've been perfect, but it doesn't work now.
Daibhisaid: And now the classic "finding teams is impossible" argument. Funny how people who want reaper gone from comp just jump from one argument to another.
If a minigame or group boss becomes dead content then they should be tackled if and when that happens, for example rat pits and MA, and trouble brewing is next. For content that is still active you need to stop being lazy and do it. It doesn't take 2 years to find people to do cwars with, it's played every day by people going for the trim req, and when it's on spotlight (every few weeks, not years) it's played every single minute of the weekend on multiple worlds. You'll get it when you deserve it.

Why allow the issue to eventually exist in the first place? Might as well just not let it happen to begin with, problem solved.
If content is still active that isn't what I'm talking about, but if it will eventually become content that people will lose interest in after a few years because something more shinier exists then that needs to be taken into consideration so as to avoid it becoming a potential barrier to progress.
It took me two years to do it. I can't find anything that tells you exactly when something is going to be spotlit hence why it took me so long, I was also preoccupied with other things at the time as well so I couldn't put a lot of effort into looking for it; if you know where such a thing in game exists I'd actually appreciate knowing about it.
