You have to pay for it obviously
But I didn't pay for my first kill... 0_0 did I exploit a bug around the Raids barrier that says you must pay enter?
You'll get it when you deserve it.

Neither does someone who refuses to ever do group content. In both cases, its a self imposed limit.

Not true. People that refuse to actually "do" group content can take the easy way out: leech a kill. They have an option at least.

A 1-defence pure has no such option. They are literally incapable of comping because their limitation means they don't ever get level 99 in a stat. There is no way around it no matter what they try to do. They'll never comp (unless they decide to get 99 Defence).

Someone that is more of a soloer and dislikes grouping up usually has a way out. They can either leech a kill or solo it themselves if the content offers them the option (e.g. Dungeoneering). It's a limitation, sure, but it's not one that prevents you from actually achieving what you want when it comes to comping right now.

You might ask then, "why change it?". Well, why not? If people are leeching kills and skipping the requirement anyway, what harm does changing it., so that they don't have to leech and instead can just solo, actually do? It doesn't make the cape any easier to obtain. It'll still be tough to unlock and maintain.

Comp is considered participating in "everything", trim is completing "everything" to its fullest extent.

Yeah, that's what the definition of comp would have you believe. But as we can see, comp isn't about completing everything because if it was, a lot more requirements would be on there. There's a reason a rework is being taken seriously. As it stands now, the identity of comp is not 100% clear and the fact we have two capes trying to deal with completionism only makes it worse/more confusing.

The way comp works now is just asking for people to slap their own definitions on to it, requesting things they think that should be on or off the cape. If its identity was clear, say like a Max cape, we wouldn't be having these discussions.

It's still their choice to refuse to do group content. They have an option to not impose that limit on themselves just like pures do. Only, they can get their one (!) kill then go back to not doing group content.
Also isn't leeching still teaming up? And they need to play a game of Castle Wars for a task set, and all minigames for the music trask so they already aren't a TRUE solo player...

Tonnes of people leeched DG, I guess that should be removed as a requirement too? If people are leeching floors and skipping the requirement anyway, what harm does changing it., so that they don't have to leech and instead can just solo, actually do? It doesn't make the cape any easier to obtain. It'll still be tough to unlock and maintain.
You'll get it when you deserve it.

You're completely right about that.

But just try to think of any possible definition of "completionism". All non-repeatables? Highest (non-virtual) levels? All permanent unlocks?
Where is any definition - of completionism - would group content would excluded while similar solo requirements included?
Max all the skills, do all the quests, kill all the bosses (except these ones)...

You could make an argument against reaper on the grounds of bosses being repeatable content and the parameters of "completion" being very shaky. But you can't exclude group content just for being group content.
Look at all the team minigame requirements on trim (yes, cwars req is stupid). Should you just be able to get it whilst ignoring all that content because its group content?
You'll get it when you deserve it.
