Forinthry dungeon would still exist, but randomly in the wilderness areas, including dungeons revenants could spawn and roam around the wilderness and teleport in and out of dungeons like they used to in 2008-2011. They would be far stronger than your average revenant, with around x2.5 their stats, but have 3 rolls on the normal revenant drop table. This is to ensure reward for hunting them, but you wouldn't need expensive gear to fight them, provided you can get their food to 0. They could be called (Sup. Revenant Dragon) in chat for example. They would also be able to teleblock and freeze again, with the freeze being similar to nex's ice prison but not dealing damage, just stunning the player in place for a few seconds (can't use freedom).

I think it would be a great update to help make the wilderness more fun. There could either be separate worlds that they spawn on, or make it dependent on that World's population for their chance to spawn, so if people want less chance for a revenant to attack them and aren't a revenant hunter, they could go to a lower population world. PvP would of course coincide with them, so you can always reduce their spawn rate to be very low for minimal interruption and a spawn cap for lower population servers. Also, players could fight any level of roaming revenant and revenants could attack any level of player, but the demonic skull would protect you from being attacked by them.

This update could also bring in new variants of revenants such as aviansie and corporeal beast, another thread I read also suggested "Dark Revenants" that only spawn after level 15 wilderness and have slightly better drop rates of pvp items and ancient artifacts.

I also wrote this idea on Reddit not so longer ago, and had 310 upvotes, with 79% supporting the idea. So I felt that gives enough credibility to show that roaming revenants are popular, desirable and would be right for our game.

Please comment what you think of this, do you support or reject. Would you make any modifications to the original idea at all?

I have also made a discord server for us, so please try to get a hold of me if you think you might be interested to discuss such an update with other like-minded players.

Our aim is to try and get an in-game poll about the return of roaming revenants, with new variants and possibly, but not necessarily new rewards to encourage pking, for example if dark revenants had a rare chance to drop an onyx or some noted searing ashes. But this would only be to encourage pking, and would be nowhere near the best pvm money in the game.

It is most likely dark revenants would have x1.5 stats of a roaming revenant, and 1 would spawn for about every 7 roaming revenants. I would also support around 1 roaming revenant spawn per 100-150 on a world, with a maximum of around 12-18 spawns.

So the strongest banished revenant, dragon, has a max hit of around 1.5k. His roaming counterpart would be able to max hit 3,750, and his dark counter part would be able to hit 5,625 maximum; but this would be a rare occurence.

For drops, Roaming Revenants would roll 3 of their normal table when killed, this is to compensate for the time spent looking for them. Dark Roaming Revenants would roll 5 of their normal table, with some new special drops added, to be used as an incentive.

Also, if people prefer the revenants not to be aggressive, the forinthry bracelet (5) could just be extended to make all roaming revenants non-aggressive also, if people prefer not to use the demonic skull method.

Roaming Revenants could also have a lick of paint added to their design, with different colours showcasing special abilities, for example green could be poison, red extra damage, and the most OP special abilities could be wilderness restricted, for example teleblock (purple) could be above level 10 wilderness. This would distinguish them from normal (banished) revenants.

I support this idea, the revenants need updating so that they are threatening in wilderness. It doesn't make sense for them to remain in a confined area without much power anymore.

I also like the idea of Dark Revenants!

I think it would be cool if a sweeper revenant was included, like a ghost broom. Also I agree with this:

Support. Really miss those days when you could go on revenant hunting trips.
However, I think it would make more sense, if the roaming revs wouldn't be named "superior" revs - instead, the ones in the Forinthry dungeon should be named "Banished" revenants. Banished Revenant Imp, Banished Revenant Goblin, etc. Their examine texts should be like "The banished and weakened essence/ghost of a [creature name here], slain during the god wars".
Other than that, I really like it. Hopefully they would also spawn in the Wilderness Volcano, so they could mess with the Cursed energy bots.

I think their spawn would be random depending on their roam range. Dark revenants wouldn't be able to spawn or roam below 15 wilderness though. I think it's also a good idea to show that information, so the revenants that don't roam in forinthry would be code named "Revenant Imp (Banished)" I support that.
