Hello, so i've seen a lot of my friends say they have had this message pop up after being logged out to the lobby/completely logged out and then trying to log back in, I had never had the issue until just now. I'm at PoF mucking some manure, I got completely logged out after like a 2 minute lagspike. I logged back in right away and got the message "Malformed Login Packet". Any idea why this happens? Any idea how I can prevent it from happening?
This is on Desktop RS3 btw, not mobile.

I would suggest sending this into Jagex for further in-depth solutions.

tried doing this, they completely ignored what i said and told me it was my graphics drivers lmao. what a waste of time hoping they'd actually read what i said and try helping. thank you though! i appreciate it

UPDATE: after some extensive tinkering with everything, it seems the problem lies within updating google chrome on windows 10. After updating, Runescape will still try and use the old, non existent version of chrome- regardless of reinstalling. To fix this, go onto your settings, and set either Microsoft edge or reset google chrome as your default browser. Note: doing this on the actual browser didn't seem to solve the problem, and required going through the settings (after half an hour tinkering with other possible fixes)


Switched to edge so lets see.... thanks to whoever posted it

i just reset google chrome to default, however i'm not using windows 10 on this PC that had the issue. So i'm hoping it still fixes it, i've only had the issues once but my friends have said they've encountered it a few times so far. My ticket to jagex resulted in them saying my pc doesn't have the required specs for rs (it 100% does and this laptop actually runs it beautifully aside from this new issue from monday's update i assume) and completely ignored that I was asking about a malformed login packet rather than how to fix a graphics issue lol
