Hi all,

Since the update yesterday i cant log into rs with the client, in fact the only way i can log in is by using an old java version.

I am getting a C0000005 critical error message.

I have check my graphics card drivers are all up to date ( Gforce gtx 1060)

any ideas?

I can only get in the game if I go on google chrome, go to, log on to the website, then load up the client...if it doesn't load, I have to shut off my virus scan, load up the client, once it is loaded, I turn my virus scanner back on...hope they fix it soon

I'm having the same issue as well. Can't seem to load the game to play. Is this forum for real tech help or are we going to get half-@** help from everyone and their dog?

The entire error message is:

The instruction at 0x%p referenced memory at 0x%p. The memory could not be %s. (c0000005)

To fix it for me i had several updates i was not aware of, graphics card and windows were teh main ones and seem to have sorted it.

I had to also re instal the client.

I had the same issue from about a week ago. Thinking it would be fixed with the next update (becouse multiple people had this issue after the update) I waited until today. To my surprise it wasn't fixed after the update so I decided to try some stuff myself. For most people it seems to fix itself after updating windows and/or graphics drivers. For me this didn't work but it fixed after doing a diskcheck via the command prompt (run as admin) hope this helps.

diskcheck command: chkdsk /f /r

Edit: The error is back fml

Why would I need to do this?
There are some circumstances where you'll need to update your graphics drivers such as:
Low FPS (Frames per Second) in game
Graphical or display issues
You're looking to improve your system's performance
If any of these apply to you, follow these steps:

Windows & Mac

Update Graphics Drivers on Windows
Before you update your drivers you'll need to identify what make and model of Graphics Card you have in your system.
Identifying graphics card
Click the ‘Start’ button/Run
Type "DxDiag" (without the quotations) and hit enter
Click the display tab
Your graphics card make is shown next to "Manufacturer"
The model is next to "Chip Type"
Updating your Drivers on Windows
Note - You will need full admin access on the computer in order to update your drivers
Visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer.
Search for your graphics card model & name.
Download graphics drivers.
Run the downloaded installer package.
Restart your computer.

On Mac OS X, your Graphics Driver is actually part of the Operating System, and as such can be upgraded by checking for a software update from Apple.
Update your OS
To update your Operating System follow these steps:
