Wizard Fight

Welcome to my new forum game! This is based on the idea of another game I made a while ago, which was a bit complicated and confusing. It was called Frenzy Arena. This version is a lot simpler, and hopefully skips the tedium, letting you jump straight into the action!

Hereĺs how it works:

The aim is to win points by defeating players in battle. When you post, you challenge the previous poster by casting a spell. Each spell has two aspects; an element and a range. The one you donĺt choose yourself is decided by the second time on your post. (00:00:00)

You defeat your opponent by having more advantages than them. If it is a draw, then the defender gains points (It is actually impossible for the defender to win, as I have discovered)

NOTE- The game system could be adjusted if I notice problems such as potential game-breaking or an imbalanced gameplay experience. Thank you for your patience.

Elements

The elements are as follows (Strong > Weak): Water > Fire > Wind > Earth > Lightning > Water

If you donĺt choose your element, then it is random:

00-09 None (neutral)
10-19 Water
20-29 Fire
30-39 Wind
40-49 Earth
50-59 Lightning

Range

(This section has been adjusted again, no change to previous battles though)

The ranges are Long and Close

If the spells have the same range, the defender has the advantage. If they are different, it is the challenger

If range is left to chance, odd numbers give you Long range and even number give you Close range.

Examples

Player 1: Water, Long
Player 2: Lightning, Short

(Player 2 has one advantage from the elemental matchup and range and player 1 has no advantages)

Player 1: Fire, Short
Player 2: Wind, Long

(Player 1 beats Player 2 by element, but Player 2 beats Player 1 by range. Therefore it is a draw and Player 1 is considered victorious.)

This is just a bit of fun on the side. By fulfilling certain conditions, you can unlock achievements and titles that can go with your username on the leaderboards. I will add a few now but I might come up with more in the future.

Notes and Rules

All standard forum rules apply, let's play nice and have fun!

You cannot challenge yourself...

You can't pick both aspects of your spell either

If you want to change your title, do it in in one of your challenger posts, or edit a recent post to alert me, to avoid confusion to other players. Also, if you're concerned about achievements, you can remind me to check if there's one you unlocked that I didn't notice

Be warned, this game is 'unstable'. As in, you may encounter events, NPCs etc., somewhere down the line. This is just to make things a bit more interesting if the game starts to get old.

Alright, let's go!

I begin by charging up a spell, ready to attack the first challenger!

I pick the fire element!

And...It is a close-ranged spell!

---

(Ranges are the same and you have the elemental advantage so you win)

Just to say I have made a slight adjustment to hopefully make the game a little more interesting, that should be the last change I make to how range works.

On with the battle!

Earth Spell!

Which is close range

With the new way the range works this wins (the ranges are different so the challenger wins)

Again I don't score my own points, I'm just making sure there's some activity here until it picks up momentum.

^Correct

A new challenger approaches!

A wizard in grey robes with a silver staff enters the arena.

"I am Veilus, Aeromancer! I challenge you to battle!" HP 3/3

Veilus casts a wind spell, Adding wind essence to the spell makes it an ultra wind spell (twice the advantage or disadvantage for wind). Close range.

Veilus wins because of his double elemental advantage!

Veilus is carrying an unusual item...

^Nope, you get a double elemental advantage because his spell is doubly weak to fire, so you win. :)

HP: 2/3

Veilus casts a long range spell and adds wind essence

It's a fire spell but also has wind. So it's strong against wind and earth and weak against water and fire. Man, this is confusing.

Anyway, it's a draw this time.

Yup.

Veilus casts a lightning spell and adds wind essence, so It's strong against water and weak to fire.

Odd, so long range, making it a draw. That wins you points (I keep having to make small adjustments to the system but I'm almost there I think)

HP 1/3
