Jagex, it is utterly ridiculous for you to create Hardcore Ironman mode and pitch it as an account with only one life that will be locked upon death but then make the Jar of Divine light that prevents the player character from actually being locked.

By definition ~ an Ironman account is an account that encourage the player to be entirely self-sufficient. Ironman are locked out of most forms of interactions with other players such as trading, the Grand Exchange, most group minigames, PvP, and almost all other group activities. In addition to the above, Hardcore players have the added challenge of only having one "life". As soon as they die, their account is permanently locked. ~

Why then should there be an option for a HCIM to circumvent the one and only condition that defines the difference between regular Ironman and Hardcore Ironman? By allowing this account conversion, there is no such thing as a HCIM.

Jagex, you should either remove the ability to circumvent HCIM mode or just remove HCIM mode altogether from the game. Because after all itís not HCIM itís just regular Ironman mode with a different chat badge if death doesnít lock the player characters account! The very thing that Hardcore mode is supposed to do to set it apart from regular Ironman.

At the very very least, Hardcore Ironman that die with a Jar of Divine light should have all the xp that the character has accumulated reset to zero and all skill levels in the newly formed regular Ironman account should start again at level 1. All the items that the Hardcore Ironman has accumulated should be removed along with all their wealth.

There should be zero reason why a HCIM stats or possessions carry over to the newly formed regular Ironman account. This is insulting to say that the HCIM is a high risk single life playstyle when in reality the Jar of Divine light renders it riskfree.

Remove Jar Of Divine light
Or
Remove Hardcore Ironman

Tbh I see the extra lives as a bigger issue than this, since what's the point of a "cannot die without failing the game mode" type of game mode, if you can die and still survive, as long as you got extra lives left? In OSRS, if you die a dangerous death once, no matter whether you're maxed or just started, it's over, and it should be like that in RS3 as well.

But yeah, the complete reset if you die with a jar sounds better than completely locking the character IMO, so that you could still retain the character name and remaining membership credit without it going to waste.

No support.

Just because you have personal issues with it doesnt mean it needs to be removed.

I mean its one of the ways ppl can downgrade from HC so removing it wouldnt make sense.

No thank you. Creating an update which discourages people to even try is a bad idea.

Also consider that Jagex wish for people to purchase their Premiere membership lasting an entire year. Imagine the complaints if hardcore ironmen lost 11 months of membership money to an account entirely disabled. Yes it can happen, realistically they're going to convert to a regular ironman account.

Their place on the hardcore hiscores becomes cemented at time of death, the fact they died is also recorded.

Honestly this kind of change would only serve to cause more complaints. It seems like an argument for the sake of argument, disregarding everyone else for who knows what reason you have.

Again, no thank you.

Think about it like this:
Say you reach the point you invest a lot of time and membership into the account.
And you have 4x the RNG on this account than your previous accounts. Even going so far as to have say unlocked most of the skill pets, maybe a complete set of Treasure Trail Dyes, or whatever.
And maybe ... how you died ... disconnect/lag? you were turned away from the screen for a sec because of something IRL? or yeah ... you didn't switch/click fast enough?

Oh dear. You are dead.

But. You have a lot on the account. So much so that ... tbh ... to just let it go seems ...................... ............................ ......................... *cringe* ................................

On the other hand ... maybe you do HCIM as a phase. It was ok. Then it was laborious. But you were too stubborn to give up on it. But as before, you've invested more into it than you did your other accounts and made even more progress.
Oh dear. You are dead.
*monotone sarcastic voice* Oh no. My HCIM is dead. I. have. lost. my. HCIM. status. Whatever. shall. I. do? I guess I am forced to play as a normal account now. Oh well.....
And so you keep playing.

Is this just troll or?

I mean just because its isnt "hardcore" in your opinion, doesnt mean anything needs changing.

Plus you arent forced to play it if you dont like it.

No itís not troll. I just think itís pointless to have a mode that Jagex says will result in a players account being locked upon death, unless you hold this item that then makes it the same as every other account. Whatís the point then? HCIM should not even be allowed to have their own scoreboard if thatís the case. Just lump them in with the rest of the regular Ironman accounts. No risk, no glory. This is about accountability. Jagex saying one thing but doing another. Promoting it as high risk single life account that will be locked upon death, but in actuality, is NOT locked upon death but just comverted instead.

Of course Iím not forced to play it. Nor would I play it.
