-^v^- Introduction -^v^-
Welcome to my gallery. I'm Notl3y989 (a.k.a. 'Notters') and I used to be a logo artist on these forums. I haven't come on here or actively played RS for two years, but I rediscovered my ascii art folder a few days ago which lead to a bit of reminiscing about old times, and me deciding to create this thread.
I never made a gallery when I was an active artist as I thought they were a little bit vain and pointless, but now that I've long since stopped making logos I've decided it would be a shame to lose them all without sharing them once again.
So enjoy!

-^v^- My History -^v^-
I first began making ascii art when a logo artist called Rizzo30 joined the clan I was in and posted some of his work on the discussion thread. I was eager to learn how to make some of my own so he gave me some pointers and showed me the basics. I also watched in awe as other logo artists on the clan discussion forum posted their work and I knew that I wanted to be as good as them.
I started making clan logos in June 2006 and improved pretty quickly. After a few months I joined LAC - the bestest, coolest, most funnest logo company ever (!) and entered a couple of logo making competitions which were all the rage back then. :P However, I more or less stopped making logos in the new year as they were distracting me from my ingame goals.

-^v^- Evolution of Ascii -^v^-
I thought it would be interesting mention the evolution of ascii art on these forums.
As you'll see, the vast majority of my logos are in the aligned style which seems rare these days, although I was around just as unaligned started to gain popularity. Incidentally, I wrote an article about this for Humble Hoare's logo newspaper and I found it in amongst my logos:
"2nd Type ASCII - The Future?
Before I start...
1st Type ASCII =
###
#_#
###
2nd Type ASCII = ,.-~^"*
1st type may be referred to in some cases as "block" or 2nd type as just "ASCII".
Anyway, I'll move on. IS 2nd Type ASCII the future of logos on these Forums? It looks like it could well be. On Bored? Draw #ere (aside from all the copied and generated logos) it has become a lot more popular and common, as I'm sure you will see as many if not more 2nd Type ASCII than 1st ASCII (again, not including copies) on there. And as it evolves, and people start to practice in 2nd type rather than 1st type, we could well see new logo artists with a new style of logoing swamping across RSB.
A few have come already, Lordseth505, Firelor and Psps Rock. All have been competing in the ongoing 2006 RSB Logo Artist Games held by Redleader911 and have impressed the judges, who may perhaps see it as the way to go. Even Belgariad04, who has been making 1st type logos for a long time (I don't know how long) and hadn't ever practiced 2nd type was impressed and gave it a go and is now entering competition logos in 2nd type. I mean they all have extraordinary talent and I'm sure not everyone would be able to draw like them but I say we have to think ahead.
So perhaps we current logo artists are a dying breed. Maybe it's time that those of us who can't do 2nd ASCII try it because that could just be the way that it's headed!"

As it turns out, that was pretty much right!

-^v^- Rules -^v^-
• 1. Don't expect me to write out a whole list of rules. Is anyone actually going to read them?
Other than that: be nice, don't spam, don't copy, don't fight, follow Jagex rules etc. etc. etc.
Oh and:
• It's not 'soccer', it's 'football'.
• The date is written as day/month/year, not month/day/year - that just doesn't make sense.
• We drive on the left.
• Four bullet points are better than three. ;)

P.S. I'm not anti-American, I just find these cultural differences amusing and in some cases infuriating. :P

-^v^- Final Word -^v^-
Before posting my gallery, I'd just like to thank all the artists who inspired me - I won't give names because the list would be too long and I'd surely forget people - and those that I used to 'work' with and chat to on the forums all day. Those were good days. :D
I think they've all moved on now but this is for them.
