Dear Runescape, users and mods

I just turned member and didn't learn about the new smithing stuff.
While trading a Zaros platebody (15m) I got offered full elder rune +5, which point out in market value 50m. I thought I made a sweet deal.

Turns out people are not even willing to give 5m for full elder rune +5.

The question is: did i got scammed by Runescape itself? Shouldn't a game which I paid 80 euro for protect me from mistakes like this? Why would the grand exchange (controlled by Runescape) price it at 50m, while people didn't even wanna get it for FREE???

Well HELLO RUNESCAPE YOUR NEW UPDATED FUCK'ED THE ECONOMY HARDER THEN THE BREXIT WILL FUCK ENGLAND!

The community controls the economy (G/E) not Jagex, the prices of the grand exchange are currently unreliable because it can't keep up with the constant price changes the new items have at any given moment currently.

I mean, let's be fair to the guy, the guideprice was set WAY higher than the items are really worth; it would have perhaps been better to set it to the high alchemy price of the item or its raw components..

But..

Mate, people don't give away their money for free, and in this game it's piss easy to sell something because the Exchange exists. There are no "sweet deals". If it sounds too good to be true, then it is.
Consider it a life lesson.

I believe Jagex intended for the new items to be the prices they were on release but the community wasn't for having it and said no. I also dare say they would've been worth those prices if the PVM community wasn't so difficult to work with in regards to existing armours and weapons being made subpar in comparison. It's a bit hard to make them worth those prices if they can't make them better than existing items.

It probably didn't help that Mod Jack apparently underestimated how tunnel visioned and determined the skilling community can be when it comes to skilling - even 1.2k bars for masterwork and the respective ores is laughable and they halved that.
