Should Community helpers, forum mods, player mods and local mods get a discount on the jagex store merch? I think Moderators deserve a discount for their hard work making runescape safe. They need compensation for all the bs they are put through every day.

Volunteer mods/helpers do sometimes have to put up with some unpleasant treatment from others. However I believe there should be no advantages to being in one of those positions . There are people who want the roles for the wrong reasons as it is.

L Mods, perhaps since they're paid contractors, but everyone else? no. I wouldn't be surprised if J Mods get discounts on their products (which they probably do). The only compensation volunteer moderators ever get is a "pat on the back" and a "keep up the good work!"

This has been one of the few suggestions I've seen, and obviously it didn't pass. It would be nice to receive such commendations once and a while, but then we'll probably just be looked upon as "elitist" and the roles no longer become voluntary.

Simply put, no.

Yes, they have to put up with unpleasant behaviour from time to time, but that's to be expected for being a moderator. You're not going to have everyone like you, or treat you like a human, and moderators know what they're signing up to. If they don't like it, they don't need to keep the role. You need thick skin to be a moderator on the internet.

There should be no extra advantages moderators gain for being one. It's a volunteer position, and nothing in return should be expected from Jagex, apart from the 'pat on the back' as Rev put it.

I don't think they should either. They are getting paid to moderate, and have experience in the field, so also know what they are getting into. Their reward is their paycheck to be honest.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.

Fair enough.
I mean, that's coming from knowing that JMods have to buy their own RuneFest tickets, when they're going as players. I don't know if they get discounts on the ticket, but I personally think direct employees should get it free since the players are going to see their favourite JMods.
