You guys are only looking at portable forges from the "anvil/furnace right next to a bank" angle.

The thing is, portable forges are even more useful now, as they're now actually be used as "portable" smithing stations, instead of a bankstanding accessory.

People could plop down portable forges at popular mining spots and people could deposit their ores in the ore bank, smelt bars, store the bars, smith stuff, etc. It's honestly a lot more varied and interesting than what portables forges were used for before. They deserve to return.

I've already explained how they aren't useless so you may want to (re)read the rest of the thread.

Yet all youve said so far was this:

which was debunked by this:

If it comes to jewellery crafting (which is the only reason why those things should exist now), they simply could include smelting functionality in the portable crafter.

That post isn't even replying to mine. I didn't mention crafting at all.

I can't really agree to disagree when you haven't even bothered to explain why you disagree with my points in the first place...

Its pretty obvious why your "idea" doesnt make sense it laughable.

Mainly due to the point as to that was possible before hand in a way yet they were still removed.

So going by that you logic is null.

Useless post. Still haven't explained why you disagree, just called it laughable with zero reasoning. Now you're just flamebaiting.

Basically what you're asking for is a portable bank. And that will never happen.

So.... no support.

We literally already have portable deposit boxes.

And no, you wouldn't be able to bank the smithed items from the forge, so it's not like a bank, portable or not. It's simply the existing forge options. But portable.

Jagex could even add heat bonuses or chance of saving bars or making double bars, just like with the old forge, making it "useful." (As if the portability wasn't enough.)

But yeah, it might be a bit overpowered, which is a more compelling counter against it than Draco's unhelpful nonarguments.

Yet depots dont allow you to withdraw or use anything and only last 1 hour max.

With these you make them last forever in a way if you had enough.

So having these back makes no sense.

If you're willing to waste millions of gold to indefinitely extend a portable forge, then you deserve to be able to.
