The fact that Jagex would prefer to simply remove content that was killed by their own badly planned updates (minigame spotlight aka leechscape) instead of fixing it proves that they're going down fast.

Back in its day, mobilising armies was a great minigame with a large playerbase and good community, but it was largely killed off when eoc was released, which killed off the main reason people played the minigame; the (i) rings, which were best in slot beforehand lost almost all their value.

So now that there is a precedent of deletion instead of repairing, we have to wonder, whats the next thing to go.

Game has been dying for the last 12 years then, which it isn't. Don't trust a rose by it's appearance, it's thorns will still sting you.

It's the same with humans, some have opinions and some are just crazy.

I mean, I support, but I think the key phrase here is "Back in its day".
The game's been going for coming on 18 years now.
More of its players prefer a version based on a version 10 years old than the primary game.

I think the game is now in the final phase of its life; it's the nature of the beast. 18 years is a decent stretch. But neither is the game going anywhere in the short term - it could be here another 18 years yet. It's just that you won't see the same level of investment or development as in the past.

I'd just settle in for the ride, and acknowledge that. Not that there aren't some interesting updates on the way either, mind. It's just not every week or two as it once was.

It was always a dead minigame. Remove it.

I've been there since day 1. The game was inherently flawed because it was quicker to farm rank by cooperatively suiciding than actually playing the game proper. Following the new interface system, the game was essentially broken. It was an interesting experiment at the time, but making it multiplayer-focused instead of some kind of singleplayer campaign means it was bound to become outdated at some point or another.

no u
it was dead content
im not even sure if you played it often
simply cuz something exists doesnt mean it cannot be deleted. There's too much clutter in this game that could use cleaning
rat pits was removed too btw
enchanted slayer helms were removed too
lots of stuff gets replaced by newer, better content
I believe removing MA has had no bad effect on RS whatsoever
Do prove me wrong if you have objective evidence

Nobody was playing this game after the first month of its existence.

I don't fault them for removing it, I fault them for taking so long to remove it. Admitting you made a mistake is better than letting a mistake fester for so many years.

As for the game dying, it's definitely declining, but it's far from dead.

You clearly have never played Mob armies, seeing it is unplayable and to remove it from the game, was way over due.

The game doesn't die because a dead mini games gets removed.

Runescape is far from dead, I see a total of 121k players online.

People who say the game is dying is just trying to manipulate new players from playing, please let them play in peace

God Bless.
