Thanks for the FAQ!

Just to briefly add on to what I first said, and give a few more suggestions. I think 120 Slayer is a PERFECT opportunity to get a few more Invention updates into the mix. Augmentable Slayer Helms (Brand new buyable helm with slayer points, because I believe it won't be easy coding into the current helm), MORE Slayer related perks, etc. But definitely, I feel invention could play a big part in this update.

Also, I created a post on reddit regarding a possible overhaul of the slayer store. Which, infact, had great feedback and a hefty backing. More block/prefer spots, more reasonable prices, and a huge overhaul of the store in general. Let us buy a random slayer mask from each batch with slayer/reaper points!

I was thinking, similar to how the Hydrix works with reaper points; make a SLAYER equivalent. I.e, a task gives 20 Slayer points but also 2 Special slayer points (can be renamed), and in the store is a gem which can be bought with 100 special slayer points, and can be formed into a new ring or a new necklace; BOTH giving slayer-related buffs. Tradeable? Maybe. (More dmg on task, more accuracy on task? Could be up for debate) But that is on the top of my head. Could be the grounds for a good addition imo.

TL;DR - Try to get invention to play a part in this update, and overhaul the slayer store.

Thank you for halving the Livid Farm requirement and making us need 120 Slayer.

From everyone with a Comp Cape pre-livid farm nerf

To be honest, the thing that ticked me off the most wasn't the halving of livid farm req; it was how those with the 425K LF Pts had NOTHING TO SPEND IT ON because the store is so poor.

Salt is an understatement, I felt like they gave us all who got the req before the nerf a huge middle finger.

Will I need slayer 120 for a max cape, or will that stay at 99?

No, 99 Slayer will continue to be the requirement for max cape.

120 Slayer is for comp/trim, a brand new req.

"But we cannot solely focus on fixes, because fixes are not ‘things to do’. "

... why not?
I get moody during that time of the month. You know, with the full moon and all.

"As mentioned at Runefest 2016, a treasure chest within the dungeon will collect the loot for you.."

This concerns me a little bit.

1- Will we be able to select what we take out of the treasure chest? Naturally I imagine their will be items that have some higher value ( Loot beam worthy), but what about stuff that we don't want? Can we remove what we like and leave what we deem is unworthy or unwanted in the chest?

2- Will the items in the Treasure chest be noted for us?

3-Does the chest reset with each task or does it just build up over time?

Why are you doing Slayer 120 and not fixing other skills, or completing invention?

But slayer doesn't bridge combat with non combat because you level it up like you would any combat skills. The only bonus that slayer gives over standard combat is the rather large bonus that comes with the slayer helm and all upgraded forms of it. Which can allow you to seriously power up an already powerful player when combined with all existing boosts and buffs. And when you combine the fact that a few bosses meet the same requirement as slayer task players can effectually kill bosses even easier then before. There is a noticeable difference between going after Kril or Airuts for invention exp on task or off task. Namely they were both noticeably easier on slayer task. Thus allowing me to speed up combat exp gained, invention exp gained and gp gained from trips. Slayer is effectively easy mode for exp and gp gain in the game.

You see a drop in players without new content because you have enforced and fed the complete everything as fast as possible mentality. Be it rewards like comp cape or creating actions like Livid Farm as best example of mind numbingly boring and repetitive actions that players inherently want to finish as fast as possible. And in cases like Master Quest Cape there is a fair amount of RNG involved and isn't something you can just get in a weekend. Yet the ultimate reward for that is at best a pat on the head. Since the cape doesn't offer any better stats then a basic 99 cape. The entire set up of the game incentivizes players to only play a portion of it because that portion is all that actually gives any rewards or desire to do it. And if it is part of a reward like Comp cape then players will do said content just enough to satisfy the requirements of cape then never touch it again. Which again reduces over all portion of the game they play.

When you have a game set up were players put hours of their time into the game to be rewarded with a few different pixels. Don't be surprised that player base drops off with lack of new content for them to power though then ignore once they gained all they could from it. But at the same time don't use that as a cop out excuse not to fix existing problems in the game you have already created. The game doesn't become unhealthier when you try to fix old problem. The game becomes unhealthy when you willingly ignore those problems will they are so bad that the player base is practically down your throat to fix them. Issues like Mining and Smithing Rework and a ton of skill reworks were obviously needed when I joined in 2007. But instead it took till 20 god damn 16 for you guys to get off your collective rear ends and finally address a problem that was extremely obvious from the moment it was decided that rune armor was only level 40 armor out of 99 levels.

And 120 slayer doesn't fix anything. Because if you wanted to fix something then you could have reworked existing mobs to be more inline with current player capabilities. Rather then you know Gano beasts which require 95 slayer being shit stomped by me using mid level gear. Despite having recently gotten 99 slayer out of all the slayer task I get assigned in which I skip none but Moravan's special challenge and Lava wyrms because of wilderness. Not yet had a task besides Rune Dragons that made me think I needed to use any gear higher then level 75. And even at Rune Dragons which isn't even a slayer mob all I do is swap my T70 crystal bow for DW chaotics crossbow. Still use my Karil/Armadyl armor against them. Not a single slayer mob has so far even hinted I would need to bring out any T80 or T85 gear I have. Unless I was specifically trying to achieve the maximum exp per hour possible. Which I'm not really interested in.
