With Fletching being f2p, wouldn't it make sense to make magic trees f2p as well? With there being magic trees in the Varrock Sewer resource dungeon? Maple trees are f2p as well in the Daemonheim dungeon, so it should follow that this would be implemented.
With all of the updates to f2p this year, it would go into making it more enjoyable no doubt. Just a thought.
All the best.

Indeed, perhaps in another update. However if I recall correctly, the deposit box in Daemonheim is for p2p. So whether or not there's much point I don't know, again this could be balanced as you said. The updates to the mining guild and the Falador mine are maybe an example of this.
The Varrock east bank is quite close, all things considered, magic logs being of some value. The distances are similar between Daemonheim maples and the Daemonheim bank
IF Magic Trees were unlocked for F2P, rather than the extra step of unlocking a resource dungeon and adding a deposit box, remember there are magic trees at the Mage Training Arena north of the Duel Arena as well, with a bank nearby to the south.
My F2P alt has gained quite a few magic logs from various f2p daily challenges, over time. As magic logs are also available from the Grand Exchange, there shouldn't be a need to rush to remove the member requirement to chop magic trees.
