We've just published a blog about a new project:
Distraction and Diversions: Court Cases

It's in the early stages but I'll answer what questions I can about it. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks,
Mod Nancy

Cool! I'm going to read the Blog now!

I've read the Blog and I think Court Cases is going to be great!

Some questions:
Will those "recently retired" npc's be old random events?

Will Court Cases be repeatable? D&D's are, but how can you make it repeatable and keep it interesting at the same time? There is only a set amount of cases, and after a while players will have played though all of them. Unless you make new cases each week... but that would be hard wouldn't it?

I got a suggestion for the rewards: Court Clothing. A set of clothes, only obtainable by playing through the D&D, that looks like the clothes of someone in the court.
And, of course, an experience award. Maybe xp lamps? Or a reward points system, that lets you decide what to spend the points on: xp or clothes.
Maybe even a new Court-themed emote?

And... I quote the Blog's bottom line:
"If you'd like to discuss our support for community events, check out [this thread]."
The link works fine, but it's not about support for community events... that's the wrong Blog Mod Nancy!

The whole legal system thing sounds like a really good idea! Now, I don't really have a lot of information about the content itself so the following my speculation of the D&D.

It seems reading and putting clues together is going to play a big part in the D&D. There won't be much action except for possibly the "sleuthing" part will have you snoop around looking for evidence. Skills-wise, this would possibly involve Thieving, Agility, and Hunting.
It sounds like it will be a very self-contained D&D rather like The Circus or The Phoenix Lair, but it is possible you will be asked to search for clues where the accused lived or was convicted of the crime.
It also sounds like completing quests will have access to different types of accused so it would be fun to see quests involved in more D&Ds.

I'm always interested in seeing new types of gameplay, and I'm a big fan of logic puzzles so I'm excited for this.

Just an idea, how about involving criminal catching into the D&D? Since this is a legal process and it would introduce some interesting gameplay as you're hunting humans (and probably other types of creatures you normally wouldn't track). This could be integrated into the court cases like you have to catch the criminal then put them on trial, or it could be a separate part like catching criminals and/or playing attorney (like at the circus you have different types of activities).
