This was said on the "2017 - The Year Ahead" page.

"There's a Clue Scroll Overhaul – currently scheduled for March - reworking the old while bringing in the new, including a new clue scroll tier and new rewards."

But it's not on the "The Month Ahead - March 2017" page. Nor do I see anything in the future updates forum page. Any updates?

there was a reddit thread floating around, that basicaly said they need to train more guys on the Ninja team in order to do the rework properly, so it has been put on hold for a long time.

One of the MAJOR deciding ponts to buying prem this year was the fact they told us the clue rework would be this year. That and Slayer. If they push slayer back, I dont think ill buy prem next year.

Yup.. Clue scroll rework and the Slayer/Menaphos updates are the main updates for this year, if that's ruined there's nothing much in it for me. :/

This is gonna be a bump to this thread, but of the existing ones related to this topic this seemed the best place to post.

1. TBH, if they take the extra time to make it work properly, and make it worth doing, I might start doing clue scrolls again. As they now stand, for me the time to complete a clue scroll ain't worth the penny-ante rewards you get from them. Clanmate today ended one up with this response: "All that time and effort for just 82k?" This explains why I have 4 bank slots currently being wasted on each of the 4 levels of clue scrolls, to ensure I don't get any more drops of these while slaying. It used to be just 1 lot, but Jagex, in its wisdom, decided some time back that we could hold 1 of each tier at a time, so ofc my wasted bank slots went up to 4 as a result. With this rework, if they do add a 5th tier of clue scrolls, that will suck up another bank slot.

2. Except. With this rework you'll now be able to bank multiples of the same tier. So me holding bank slots with 1 of each type will be worthless.

3. Now, I don't mind that there are folks out there who love doing clue scrolls and do them to death, but I for one hate waste, and me getting these things that I'll never use (because despite prior claims, Jagex never made the rewards really worth doing them IMO), so I don't want to destroy any I get. So it would be nice if, when they complete this update, Jagex gives us an option NOT to receive clue scrolls (a tick box in miscellaneous settings would work well), or the ability to trade em. Because I do know there are people who will drop whatever they're doing to complete a scroll as soon as they get one. Knowing Jagex, they'll never update the rewards for completing one into something that makes me want take the time away from other things I find profitable to complete one. The odds for getting the super rare items, to me, aren't worth it. You can thank my top marks in stats for that opinion

I would have liked to seen an update as promised for the clue scrolls re-work; they need an overhaul.
I do them to a degree, I will not mess with a medium or easy scroll. Only the hard and elite scrolls is what I bother with. I also work them in pairs. If I get a clue scroll as a drop I simply head to Priffy and steal another, do an elite with a hard. It saves time for me this way.

The rewards for them, agree they are worthless. Most of the time only a 100k or so. Sometimes maybe I might hit the 1 mill mark for the worth of it. I have however once, only once, got a dye. I also wear the Luck of the Dwarves doing them.

So yes I want a re-work. Not just better rewards but also areas / anagrams / cryptics to make them more challenging for a better reward.

Lastly, elite scrolls. These are easier than hard scrolls with the map. You can pretty much start off in Taverly, look at the arrow and judge from there where to go. Hit the Lodstones to zero in on it and you found it. Hard, you have coordinates which is a lot harder plotting the place.

They are a lot more profitable since luck of the dwarves ring came out though, everything that gives fortunate components is now 600k, but I agree elites seem to be easier than hard which doesn't make sense. Also hope they have updated the sliding puzzle clues graphically to look like the ghost stories one possibly with the changing picture at the end because that was brill.
