We’ve decked the Grand Exchange, Prifddinas and the Max Guild with boughs of holly and gift-wrapped some shiny new updates, just for you. So grab your scarves, gloves and festive auras, because the Christmas season has returned to Gielinor, and it’s set to be a cracker. So, how about we take a peek into Santa’s sack?

The G-Nome Project

First thing’s first: our Christmas quest, The G-Nome Project. Back in November, we asked you to scour Gielinor for pieces of Santa’s favourite toy, the clockwork gnome. Well, now that big-beard’s back, he’s decided to take the matter one step further and turn the clockwork gnome into a real boy. Problem is, now they’re both missing - and so’s Rudolph - which leaves it down to a certain adventurer to track them down and save Christmas.

If you’re itching to start, chat to the Queen of Snow in Varrock anytime from the 11th of December. She’s got some information that might prove useful. Perhaps she’ll let it go?

Winter Weekends

Next up, Winter Weekends. We’re supercharging your gains every weekend up until the 8th of January, from mid-Friday to mid-Monday. As those who took part in our combat weekend will know, each one will be centred around a different theme.

Festive Aura

The angel on the tree is our festive aura, granting you a 50% XP boost and an icy-cool cosmetic effect for thirty minutes every day. It should already be in your backpack, but if you can’t find it, chat to Xuan in Burthorpe or Dilwyn in Prifddinas.

Advent Calendar

You can claim one free in-game gift every day in December from the community interface. And don’t fret about missing days! As long as you log-in before the 8th of January, you’ll still be able to pick up all your goodies.

Ninja Fixes

It’s been a busy month for the ninjas, so much so that they’ve been bustling about like Santa’s elves to make your game the best it can be. All these fixes are now already in-game, but here’s a reminder:

  • We’ve recoloured all the Divination wisps so that they match the colour of the energies they give you. You can thank one of our players on Reddit for this suggestion.

  • We’ve whipped up an all-in-one monkey greegree to save on bank space, as voted for by you. Much more convenient.

  • Hefin Worker and Musician Outfits can now be disassembled. That means you won’t receive outfit pieces once they’re stored in your Player Owned House.

  • Player Owned Ports: The equipped part name of each ship now displays within the Shipyards interface instead of the section name. So for example, you might have ‘Tengu Rudder’ instead of ‘Rudder’ on its own.

  • You can now mouse over a quest’s start icon on the world map to see its length.

  • Premier Club

This year’s Premier Club is our best deal of the year, offering you more for your membership with a whopping discount. With it, you can get some terrifying Hellion armour, the matching aura with four different effects and access to the exclusive Premier Club Vault - our new, monthly D&D - plus much more. Gold and Silver members can also reclaim old Premier Club-exclusive armour sets, so if you’re mourning a gap in your collection, this is your year.

    Merry Christmas, everyone!

    W00ters out.

So other than the Christmas event, it's a patch month? Eh...

Christmas event is next week. For the week I imagine it may be a patch week but there may not be an update due to it being so close to Christmas. Then the week after that is Christmas :P

Yeah, it's just that given how subpar the year has been overall, it would've been nice to have it end with a big bang you know? Last year, Sliske's endgame did that, even if it was a bit controversial. This year, it looks like it's just the basic every-year stuff. > /

Santa the Executive Joy Bringer. I'm glad they're using old jokes. But Claus-terphobic was new and funny. I also love those Frozen jokes.

I couldn't make out what Santa was saying, but that's what the text was for.

I'm going to do the Christmas event on Christmas, and I'll take part in a few winter weekends. Thanks for reminding me about the Festive Aura! And the Runescape Forums. I want to win some of those rewards.

The ninja fixes don't really affect me. It would be nice to see those changes, and I'm sure I'll combine the monkey greegrees, even though I won't use it. I'm just glad they aren't releasing big permanent content for a change. It's nice to see a month where you know things won't change dramatically, although I know many will disagree.

Dude I'm 26 year old and you got loads of old players here in the game. Why do you have to make videos like you're talking to small kids and cracking those lame jokes for 3 year olds?
Come on... your videos become more and more annoying and I hate it when you say W00ters out... freaking gaf...
    I'm here for Santa's Naughty list :@

I have a wife, smoke cigarettes and drink beer yet Mod Mark is talking to us like we're STILL 14 years old :\

Most of us are adults now, it's getting ridiculous.

Making such an amount of promises and delivering second to none of them (bank rework, mining/smithing rework, clue rework,...) should guarantee you guys a place in politics.

Except for Menaphos and Angel of death I feel like nothing of ANY significance has happened this year. And even that was hap-hazardly done. (really, a golden title for being "your own slayermaster" and nothing else?)

When I compare to 2016 , we got Invention, nomad's elegy, GW2, river of blood, kindred spirits and telos and that was just January to June.
Further down the road we get the Arc, Catherby and Whitewolf mountain rework, tales of nomad and wilderness rework(with achievement diary), bounty hunter, children of mah and then you finished the year with a blast with the christmas event and Sliske's endgame.

Maybe we got a bit spoilt last year, but this year the only thing that got more than enough updates was treasure hunter.

Back to the freezer, evil dave quest and memory to guthix were good but kinda meh.

On a positive note: Invention batch 2 and the lost grove were amazing. Absolutely fantastic and what I had been waiting for.

But too little to save the rest of the dissapointment of a year. You bet too much on Menaphos and it didn't work out.

    Please do better in 2018.

*end rant of a spoilt veteran player that isn't concerned with most of the patches that everyone seems to like so much*
