Three Desert quests was the confirmation, one for Crondis (Crocodile Tears), one for Het (Our Man in the North), and one as a finale!
HOORAY!!!

Side note: Its time for another one of my theories!

Will the Crondis quest involve us making an amulet of Crocspeak to talk to the Crocodile High Priest of the Temple of Crondis to find out what happened to her?

Will the Het quest involve us inventing bandaids to heal people? Will this act of kindness have Het return? So many questions!!!

Just thought of something.

Between the twin cities of Sophanem-Menaphos, we currently have access to 1/4. Three quests left in the series - one half city for each quest. Seems a good way to deal with release without making a giant update out of it.

Unlike with Prifddinas, there's no loreful reason we can't hop a fence and waltz into Menaphos. There isn't really any good rationale for saving Menaphos access for the finale, and honestly, I don't think the story can support another installment of us waltzing just out of reach of the city's entrance - at least, not without ignoring the whole Osman-spying storyline that's formed the crux for half the quests. Maisa indicated our entry into Menaphos was imminent back in 2008 - she's already cleared the way!

I mean we'd be assaulted by troops of Menaphite guards, a safer route, is using the underground chasm, which is not even that wide, the jump you have to make at Zamorak is bigger than that one! Maybe they will rework the chasm slightly and make it huge, Idk.

On the Desert Series, something of an story order question:
Would the Het and Crondis stories work as semi-standalone (kinda like Spirits of the Elid) quests that then fed back into the Desert Finale?
Or would they absolutely must be the next quests after Do No Evil?

If the stories could be partitioned out, and made on their own, they could in theory do a double quest development, getting both out much the same way as the Rune Mysteries/Memories and Stolen Hearts/Diamond in the Rough.

While you might need one of the earlier Amascut series quests to act as a starting point (so you have some idea of who the Desert Pantheon is), they could both retain a low set of requirements before merging back into the finale.

I think Do No Evil is more or less standalone, even if it is the most recent 'sequential' quest in the series.

The whole desert series has a very consistent overarching theme of 'Amascut is bad news,' and in the "main" storyline as it stands, it seems there are two outstanding plot points.
1. Al Kharid's spy network and Osman's infiltration of Menaphite schemes
2. The loss, use, and recovery of the Kharid Ib

We also have some secondary threads
-Leela and the rightful ascendancy of the Kharidian pharaoh (though only overtly dealt with in Missing my Mummy, Osman's quest for documented genealogy and designs on the throne are alluded to throughout the desert quest series)
-The absence of the desert gods (which is tied in with the whole theme of the adventurer being mysteriously favoured by the Menaphite pantheon)

I don't think we'll be seeing a sequel to Do No Evil (or Spirits of the Elid, for that matter) until the finale, but I DO think they'll probably want to tie the new plot focus (from the Ozan double bill) and the old plot focus (last addressed in Dealing with Scabaras) together sooner rather than later. I suspect the Crondis quest will address both the Kharid Ib and the spying game, and probably (hopefully) give us our first peek at Menaphos.

lol, just thought for 2017 or 2018.
Pirate Finale
Gnome Finale
Rite of Passage
The do a thematic year with the remaining Desert Series and opening up Menaphos

That could in theory, finish out most of the 5th Age stuff, in addition to doing a 6th Age.
Bad news is that it would probably gobble up so many resources that you wouldn't get much else in quest content for the year, and with several large new areas having to be created, wouldn't get much else either.

I have been looking at a quest list I made a long time ago before the 6th age started. A lot came from a very old thread here, but is no longer around. These are the questlines left in the 5th age.

The Penguins
- So far 3 are out. They said that there was no telling how many more of these there would be. There has been talk of a Bottle Quest, but not sure it was confirmed. August 2012 was last quest.

Elemental Workshop Series
- Currently 4 out. If they continue the pattern of 2 runes per quests, with Astral and Nature being next, there will be 3 more quests. Law/Death and Blood/Soul. Note it has been said that there might be 4 or 5 more. March 2011 was last quest.

The Monkeys
- So far only 2, and they are linked with other quests. There is no telling how many more there are. We know that they will be tied with Pirate Questline if they continue with original plan. December 2010 was last quest.

The Pirates
- 6 quests are out and it has been said that the quest will have 8 parts. So 2 more quests. March 2011 was last quest.

The Gnomes
- 6 Quests. It will be a 7 part questline, but apparently Gnome Tree Village is not really included. So 2 more quests. February 2011 was last quest.

The Karamja Series
- I have no idea if this has ended or not. Not even sure if it is an actual Quest Series, but there has been 5 quests and the last one was Legend's Quest. We have had little to no content at all in Karamja. And we have yet to see the village that is supposed to be in Kharzi Jungle that Gujuo is from. September 2004 was last quest.

Desert Quest Series
- We have had 8 quests in the line so far. It is said that there are 3 more parts, but I am thinking we could get 1 or 2 bottle quests. December 2010, with remakes in September 2012.
Come the Sixth-Age, the world will need the World Guardian.

I plan to make a thread regarding unfinished quest series (Both Fifth and Sixth possibly) but I'm waiting till River of Blood is released so the forums are not too crowded with threads regarding it. Dun steel meh idea plez :P

No worries, I have no plan to make a thread. I did go back and add when the last installments of each series came out.

Karamja is just so so outdated in content. Last quest was in 2004 and we still have 2007 Graphics there. So I guess when the next quest comes out there, there will be an overhaul of the area.
Come the Sixth-Age, the world will need the World Guardian.
