Yeah, Elegy will likely be both Master, and require NRish skill reqs are pretty much Master-ranked these days, and there's been quests with lower difficulty-tier than a prior quest before. I don't see it as too big of a deal if the reqs are still around the NR tier.

So Gower Rangers = Novice, Ballad = Experienced, Nomad = Master, FOT*2 = Grandmaster, Vampyres = Grandmaster, Sliske's Endgame = Grandmaster. With bottle quests likely being lower level from Novice - Experienced depending on the quest/series (Workshop/Penguin would stray towards Experienced, while a new story straying towards Novice) then we've got another decent slew of quests of varying levels again!

Really? Which one?

My Arm's Big Adventure is an Intermediate quest, that requires Eadgar's Ruse, an Experienced quest.

The reworks I'm calling for most are Dragon Slayer, Imp Catcher, and Pirate's Treasure.

On a different note, I've put out the second Quests in the Making youtube video for Call of the Ancestors! It's a bit late, but it's out!

Honestly, I think a Dragon Slayer rework isn't as necessary, I think, bar the replacement quests, its one of the non-member quests that has been reworked the most. Don't look to hard.

I can't be the only one who feels the Barrows Sister is like an OC in a bad fanfiction. Unless it turns out to be an existing character like Remola.

It definitely is the most worrying thing about that quest. Especially as how out of the left field it seems, there has been no real indication of her existence. It does seem like a fan fiction idea and the way they talked about her didn't help. Most of the time people when people have to use the phrase "strong female character", its actually about a poorly written character who isn't well fleshed out. So I can't say its an aspect I'm a fan of and if she has a small role or is dropped, I wouldn't be too fussed. Of course she could turn out to be fantastic but from current information she is a worry.

How much of a "rework" are some of you calling for on quests?

The only quest I see a real consensus on reworking is Salt in the Wound, where pretty much everyone agrees it was a poor finale.

Ah, interesting there is a precedent.

Imp Catcher could do with a tidy up and I agree with Pirates Treasure. But why are you calling for a Dragon Slayer rework? It is very well done already and John A's 2008 touch up made it very current to the lore.

Also I believe on the stream Raven confirmed the Dukes would be doing Sliske's Endgame. Thats an interesting fact worth noting.

Dragon Slayer rework? It's a superb quest, especially with the rework done by John A in 2007. Sure, it has some issues (duplicate Ned NPCs, Crandor is rather dull and has no traces of the civilisation etc.) but in general it's pretty awesome and a fine 'F2P finale'. Any problems it might have don't warrant a rework, really.

I'd rework Imp Catcher, MPD and obviously SitW given unlimited resources. Ideally, I'd go over every quest to correct lorefails, improve bits of dialogue etc. but eh. :P

Fun fact: when Vanstrom tasks you with finding the Myreque, he says he'll give you a "nice surprise" in the end. Golly.
Bizarre Boron Fusswell. Minigames&ninja fixes&cheevos&comp cape

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.

I would in no way call Dragon Slayer a superb quest. It's mediocre at best, and feels clunky at some times, illogical at others, and lacking throughout. It doesn't need a complete scrap/overhaul, but it needs a lot of work to make it a much better quest. It stopped being a good F2P finale a long time ago, and has almost no interesting lore reflected in the game, and really no valuable rewards anymore either.

It could tell such a great story, and it doesn't.

I wouldn't want to see Imp Catcher reworked. Even though it's rather primitive, it feels a lot nicer in the current Wizard's Tower, and it also has the distinction of being on of Runescape's few fully-voiced quests, which I don't want to see lost (the same way it was lost for Burthorpe/Taverley).

I replayed Dragon Slayer fairly recently, and it still feels appropriately epic as a f2p finale. If I changed anything, I'd maybe replace some of the items that can be easily obtained off the GE with unique untradable versions, as the excitement of tracking these items down was a big part of the adventure for me the first time around.

Sure, this doesn't compare to the Death of Chivalry, but if f2p needs a new finale, I think it would be much better served by a sequel that ramps up the action/story of Dragon Slayer, and gives more significance to all those unexplained aspects of the quest, rather than do away with it entirely. Sequels are always preferable to reworks.
