So if not obvious by now, I'm skipping doing video content for Beneath Cursed Tides. I want to, and have a script written, but am injured, and also don't have the time to really get the video done. Considering the quest is coming out in a few days, I'll likely do a post-quest thing (likely a review) instead!

Speaking of reviews, I was chatting with some friends on Twitter, and mentioned the idea of going through all the quests in RS, likely by release date, and doing short (sub 5 minute) reviews of them, in either podcast-y form, or with some visuals in the background.

Any thoughts on that?

This would be epic. I always thought that the RS Wikia (for example) was missing a "critical reception" section, like in movies on W*kiped*a. XD

I'd love it though.

The first one is out now! I also put it into text, and posted on these here forums :P

Planning to write and record one or two more tomorrow.

So the quest was a decent one, in my opinion, but I really think the music was my favorite part to the whole thing. It started off pretty lame, but by the end, I was really feeling it. I think that was a decent enough way to end the year, quest wise.

Also, really enjoy the thought of you doing something like that, Amascut. When I get a chance I'll listen to the one you've got out now.
Don't look to hard.

Ironically I think the quest I'm most exciting for is Nomad's Elegy. Sure it does still feel like it was purely made because "Nomad is popular, lets give him a quest" and I'm not sold on how they mentioned it would be combat heavy, hope theres more to it that that.

But overall it sounds promising. I hoped for a good developer to be in charge and they gave it to the Dukes - a brilliant start. The return of the dead could be used effectively and the concept art is giving a The World Wakes feel to me. Also this looks like it will get Nomad out of the picture one and for all which I will be happy with. To me he is just a problematic character, no one will be satisfied with his master reveal and just seems liked because of the boss fight.

Awesomesauce!

I'll try and get around to watching it ASAP -- currently a tad bit behind in school, but it's on my list!

The new RuneLabs Player Power area criteria is live! I've got a Menaphos pitch in there that would hopefully come with a new quest!

Interested? https://secure.runescape.***/m=player-proposal/a=946/view-idea?idea=49043

You know you can link your ideas right? For example you can vote for Arposandra here and New Domina here

Anyway best of luck. Hopefully whatever wins will come with a bottle quest

I agree with you on this. Most of the appeal of Nomad was imposed on trying to figure out who is master was, though I'm considering that they might address it in Nomad's Elegy, and I will keep an open mind on that. I think people just wanted there to more to him to justify who he was as a boss fight, though I agree that the quest shouldn't be just combat heavy. The way it was described on a stream recently reminded me of The Mighty Fall and* I don't think I need to say anything more than that.

I just hope Nomad isn't the villain in his quest. I mean, not like Lucien or Grayzag. He's on our side after all. Sort of.

No, not really. He was absolutely certain that we were with his master, tried to kill us because he had already decided on that even after he knew we weren't an assassin, and then blamed us for dooming the world. Then he tried to steal a piece of the Stone of Jas, and threw a spear at us. Nomad is on nobody's side but his own. He absolutely should be the villain, and like Autumn Elite, I will be quite happy to see Nomad finally dead.

No, no, no. Nomad is an anti-hero, i.e. both antagonist and protagonist of his arc. He tried to save the world from his master, albeit in his own insane way, and only tried to kill us because he figured we had been sent by his master. Personally, I'd like to see us forcing Nomad to work with us in the quest toward a common goal. His portrayal in DaT was terrible. On the scale of Hector Vivian he was just "fur teh evilz". Bizarre Boron Fusswell. Minigames&ninja fixes&cheevos&comp cape

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.

You're under the assumption we knew the full characterization of Nomad.
We know he is more or less Zamorakian.
Now whether he is the "true Zamorakian" like Lord Daquarius, or he is some sort of insane chaotic individual operating under the name of Zamorak who lives for chaos solely for the sake of chaos (like Solus Delgar), hasn't been fully revealed yet.
Now do you really also think that Zamorak would really chastise him for taking an oppurtunity like he did?
