So not exactly a question about quests, but a friend of mine said something about this earlier and I was curious if anything had actually been said about it or not and I just missed it.

Have they mentioned anything about working on a massive scale quest replayability thing where you'd be able to replay any quest? Or is it just select quests that have replay options created during development?

Quests in order to be replayable need to have it built in from the get go, if you want to replay some quests you can reset your defense and will clear quests like While Guthix sleeps and Ritual of Mahjarrat.

So who do you think the new god would be?

I think it's going to be THE CAMEL GOD!!! :D

(I know from a couple of streams that it wouldn't be Sliske or Tuska)

Honestly I don't feel that is true, it's just more hassle then worth as not many people apparently want it. I could think of a number of ways something like this could be done, but if they were suggesting a while ago skill "resets" back when they were talking about redoing the highscores I don't see how the same idea couldn't be applied to quests.

I think they mentioned somewhere that there was someone who was going to ascend to godhood after Guthix died? What if this quest is relating to that individual that we know nothing about, assuming they're still going through with that idea.

And yet they were able to introduce a wide-spanning quest reset as a sidebar to the pure resets update, not even making the front page.

Sure, to make a quest replayable in the same way as broken home or the dung sagas requires building it to a very particular framework. But just making quests 'resetable,' undoing our progress and rewards, seems like it's far more feasible than the developers let on, and I feel like there's no reason quest resets have to be linked to level resets.

It doesn't even have to give the rewards, I'd honestly prefer they not reward players for replaying quests, bar possibly an achievement for having replayed them all at least once. And really, from where I'm standing, it seems that all you would need to do is have some kind of interface that functions as a "main menu" that allows you to select quests to do.

Regarding the replaying of quests, I'd check out Mod Kelpie's reply to the suggestion about adding "Quest Prestiege" on RuneLabs. It pretty much sums up why it can't be done - the quest very much does have to be reset, due to the way Questing flags work for your character. The quest resets with the defence reset is actually quite buggy, and while the quests are completable, they're really awkward I hear, and sometimes are a bit screwy.

Quests would definitely need to be largely "recoded" in order to allow for replayability overall. It's a shame, but I suppose I'll deal with it!

^ I could see some quests like Myth of the White Lands or the 1 with the witches and you go around making the goulash.
The ones that are completely self contained and don't have any sequels or any real effect on the rest of the game.

The brand new god possibly isn't the one who ascended to god hood.

We were also told that there was 1 unknown god.
The Karamja God
And 1 God that has its name on the map that we do not know.

We were told that the karamja god would be playing a center role soon when the 6th age started. It is possible that it is the Karamja God or even the god who has its name on the map, or both.
Come the Sixth-Age, the world will need the World Guardian.

But they reworked all of combat for EoC. I don't know, I just really hate being told that from a programming standpoint it's a lot of work because it really shouldn't be if they were done right. As for why it's taken them this long to have even introduced something to allow it, in the form of the skill reset, is kind of beyond me.
