I assumed there would be decent money to be made but it seems the bane armor set is worth like 100k now. How did this happen? Is the masterwork stuff worthless as well? I kept playing around trying to sell bane stuff I made and it was listed at 1m or so for the item but would not sell until I was at like 50k same for all the items. So much work to get nothing.

bane is tank armor while masterwork is power armor

people always will choose power armor over tank armor which is why bane is so cheap, masterwork always will be needed due the fact its good t90 (TMW t92) power armor, as well as masterwork is needed to repair their trimmed version

I believe most people are maxed, or have a maxed main. Anything you can make with little effort won't hold value. Smith and sell stuff that other people actually need/want, like armor 1 under the maximum tier.

The value items that people tend to buy are Elder Rune +3 and Elder Rune +4. They buy them to do the last steps themselves, getting the most experience for their time, skipping the lower tier stuff. You Smith the lower tiers, sell the 3 and/or 4, you should make profit from people that just want faster xp.

Surprisingly this is not currently the case with banite, thus why I'm doing burial to get fast exp. I'm mining and smithing so there is no cost to me to go this route besides not making money. I had just hoped to make money on lower tiers, I don't expect masterwork and the surrounding tiers to drop too much in value considering how much work they are.... unless theres a bot fest that sends a flurry of them into the market.

don't forget armour spikes aren't tradeable, so I'm buyin those bars. You can sell em over GE to people like me. I make enough to last a couple weeks, but...

Pretty much. Tis what makes the OSRS economy alone, much more exciting.
