This thread is open for everyone's suggestion for decommissioning of some of RSOF's subforum.

The primary subforum that I'm proposing for decommission are the following:

Christmas Advent-ure 2017
Runefest 2017

I also like Jagex to conduct activity checks with all the subforums we currently have, to determine if consolidation and merger of subforums with related subject matter can be done. We have so many forum sections, and many are underutilized - maybe time for merger and decommissioning some of them. Please reduce the clutter of having so many forum sections with questionable volume of daily traffic.

Update: Maybe we can debate for the possibility of the default behavior for RSOF be changed. From the default "expand all", to collapse. This will significantly reduce clutter of RSOF, as the forumers will just expand the section where their favorite subforum is located. It lessens scrolling and minimize the time it takes to arrive to our individual specific favorite forum section.

I agree that the 2 seasonal forums should be hidden since they're no longer used, and Runefest 2018 will most likely have it's own, new, sub forum.

Looking at the various sub-forums, I really can't see the point to merging any tbh. We shouldn't merge for the sake of merging to simulate more activity. The RSOF is not as inactive as people claim; plus there could also be developer reasons as to why certain feedback sections are as they are.

Though looking around to see if there are any that could be put together, I do wonder if RuneMetrics could be merged into Website & Forums. Only real issue with that is, it's its own separate web app and has an in-game part of it as well. So not all of RM would fit in here.
Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?

I agree... there's a lot of subforums that could be removed. Of course, my post might be a little bias because I obviously don't use most of the sections listed... ;)

Remove:
- RuneFest 2017
- Christmas Advent-ure 2017
- Gold Premier 2017
- Invention (it's such an old skill now)
- Clan Warring (not sure if this is even popular?)

Merge:
- "New Game Content - Suggestions" with "Future Game Updates"
- "Clan Home" and "Clan Central"
- "Minigames and D&Ds" and "PvP" (they have many activities which cross over each other)
- "Website and Forums" and "Runemetrics" (maybe also with NXT?)

I know this won't happen, but how about merging Treasure Hunter and Soloman's Store into it's own 'Microtransaction' forum...

Agreed. Those seasonal subforums have been around for quite some time and should have been archived by now.

I also agree with this. The forum sections should stay how they currently are, except for the seasonal ones of course. Merging some subforums into one could cause confusion and overlap the specific code of conducts.

Oh and also merging "HLF Discussion" with "HLF Feedback".... although that's probably more a decision for Mod Lee?

- Agreed with 2017 forums as they are naturally outdated and have no further use.

- Invention is indeed old. But removing it brings up the issue of where players can go to seek help with in-game stuff. The 'RS guides and help' section should ideally be made more visible imo.

- Clan Warring... I obviously have a vested interest there. However, while warring had a great run from 2013 to 2016, it died off again during 2017 due to some inconvenient PvP updates and key members of the community becoming less active. It would be sad to see it go but I'll be the first to admit it's not being used at the moment. The only issue would be to find a good place to move over some of the threads with historical value... Perhaps the PvP section or Clan Central.

- New game content and future game updates serve to complete different purposes, so no support there. They do need to be named less ambiguously though, I remember being very confused by those when I first started posting.

- Clan Home and Clan Central could work. The only thing is that Clan Home is filled with pseudo-recruitment threads (basically information centers for clans) that get bumped up regularly and could end up submerging the clan questions that get brough up in Clan Central.
