I used to use Dh but it got too stressful and too slow at times. Plus I was spending too much on Prayer pots. I used a hasta/defender there and mainly pray flicked but using an SGS spec to regain prayer points made it a lot cheaper since I didn't have to use prayer pots. Hasta was hella accurate on that mole.

Yeah, it's weak to stab attacks. I didn't feel like spending money on stamina pots since I was determined to stay there until I got the pet, so a lot of the time I spent walking which was fine for me because it gave me time to post on the forums / do other things rather than stay full-focused constantly.
The spawn time is 1 minute and 30 seconds.
I didn't world hop because it might take some time to find an empty world so it's not something you really want to give up. I gotta say though... those unlisted worlds were pretty much always empty.

What happens to pets when you logout? Like, let's say I have the pet following me and I logout. Will it appear following me when I log in? Will it be in my inventory? Will it go to my bank? Will I lose it?
What happens if I get a random event when my pet is out? Like the mime for instance. If my inventory is full when I get teleported, will the pet be following me when I get back? I have a feeling it won't appear with me on stage... but it's been a while since I've owned a pet.
Motley Cruesaid: Os Thaddiussaid: Os Thaddiussaid: As part of the Old School General Chat Lounge, I feel it is my duty to provide you this link to the greatest challenge Runescape will ever, possibly soon, have...
All you could have done was report in-game after the incident. Trust trading is not against the in-game rules (not allowed to arrange them on the forums) however it is highly risky as you have figured out. I recommend removing the name from your post - or better yet, just remove the entire post because it will be hidden (naming & shaming) and nothing can be done on the forums. This is why trust trading is said to be 'done at one's own risk'.
It never seemed like that 'force spawn' thing worked. Mainly because not all the spawns were known which led to 30 minutes of dead time, but also because not everyone informed the chat when they saw one spawn. Most of the time it was just a mess because there was little cooperation.

Lol, I figured I may as well snag both tenses! It'll change back in due time. Although, actually, that depends on whether or not the name I've been after for years gets released in the upcoming batches.
I always thought it would be interesting if you could somehow 'track' an item's journey throughout the game. For instance, you buy a whip off someone. Then you could examine the item or view its log and it would show where it's been... something like:
- Whipboy65476 received whip from Abyssal demon. - Whipboy65476 traded whip to Ihrtwhipz3. - Ihrtwhipz3 killed for whip in the wilderness by Wh1ppk3r1337. - Wh1ppk3r1337 traded whip to to Envied.
I'm aware there would be some serious limitations with tracking considering it's not done, thus leave the thought six feet under... but just something I sometimes ponder about.
Rising Twosaid: Nornesaid: I wonder what the inspiration for it was?
I swear I wasn't thinking of you when I chose this name.
I wanted Rise originally. I even got up early so I could get first dibs and sadly Rise, Real, Rare, Rain, Rage, Power, Quit, Nice, and Open were all taken. Rising wasn't.
Yeah honestly this name release went real smooth, meaning everything was gone in an instant. The name I went for today was made [#######] like a week ago, but today when I tried it didn't work despite nobody having the name. :/ Guess it was a banned account or something... bad luck!
ScapeRunesaid: Ownagesaid: Rising Twosaid: But but but I'm the true Andrew.I lol'd, the "true" Andrew is Mr Gower himself! Time to throw down the gauntlet, this will be a battle to the death for the rightful owner of the name Andrew.
Imagine if they actually freed up his account name by accident!

oldbored777said: Why on earth would anyone vote to remove firemaking.
Is this the stone age? Are we not capable of possessing fire any more?
I'll agree it's not the most exciting skill in the game, but I hardly consider removing it in its entirety is going to solve any problems.
The discussion earlier was about trying to find ways to improve/update less-used or otherwise mundane content. I don't think anyone was being serious (or at least I wasn't) in regard to removing Firemaking!
Yes, do not bring a full inventory with you inside the dream, because bosses like Flambeed or Fareed can disarm you resulting in your item going on the ground which is considered tantamount to dropping an item on the floor.
StarDerpsaid: Have you been slaying in nieves recently? Used to never really get randoms after leaving there, almost as if your "give this player a random" counter wasn't ticking up.
And yes I know nieves is random free, before someone inevitably takes what I say the wrong way.
Yeah I guess I have, and I didn't know Nieve's cave was random free.
Xephyrsaid: Threatsaid: Did they adjust the frequency for random events? It feels like I haven't had one pop up for me in days... not that I'm complaining. To me, it seemed like after the optional randoms update they just generally haven't appeared as much. Sometimes I'd leave my bank tab open for a while but wouldn't actually be looking through it (I'd be doing something in another window), and then afterward I'd be guaranteed to get a random. That hasn't seemed to happen since the update.
Yeah I noticed that too. It's just recently, since Corp came out, it seems like even less than usual. I haven't been at Corp that much either.
Try Hard mode Endurance instead of Rumble. You can choose to stop at Dag mother if you only want to use melee, or Karamel if you don't want to bring restores. Reaching Dag only takes like 15 mins (using ancients w/ provided runes) but I'm sure it's do-able with melee just as quickly.

ScapeRunesaid: Threatsaid: Wow, so out of 811 votes so far, I'm in the 3% (27/811) who only votes through the website. Times are a changin'. Actually I voted for only in game despite voting mostly through the website just because I want them to get rid of the website version so they can get some more freedom and makes things like abstaining work.
Even though I know they have more flexibility with the in-game polls, how is this made clear for others? As far as I can tell, they don't clarify that questions #5 and #6 would only be possible with the in-game polling system.
edit: The last conversation I remember, the J-mods said the website poll only allows for 1 factor (total level) to be used.

Ooh, interesting... I was doing some NMZ endurance and I dced during the middle of fighting Glod... when I logged back in I was still in NMZ and the round started over. Don't remember it always being like this.

When I was going for Mole pet, I just brought proselyte armor, hasta and SGS. I didn't bring Stamina potions or Prayer pots or even food, and walked a lot of the time. Flicked protected melee and piety, SGS spec to regain health/prayer if needed. Reason being I didn't want to spend much money during the kills and it made killing it a lot less click-intensive (I was browsing forums during kills).
It is dangerous to start because once you do, you'll feel like you can't stop until you get the pet. Luckily I got mine rather early on (592 kills in) so it wasn't a problem. Took about a week or so.
Yeah you don't need SGS. A prayer pot or two and some food would be enough.
Apparently the mole is weaker to stab attacks which is why I chose hasta, but if you don't have one a whip would work too.
Dharoking with low HP is a good method but it requires you to constantly check up on your health to keep lowering it / make sure you don't attack him unprotected. Too stressful for my liking, so I opted out of that method.
You still make decent money regardless of your method chosen, assuming you exchange the guarenteed mole claw / skin drops for nests and either sell them crushed or make sara brews and sell. If you haven't tried to mole yet you may as well try killing it a few times just to see if you get really lucky.
I got the KQ pet on my 4th kill ever, so it's possible.
EDIT: I meant it's not very click-intensive because the majority of the time you spend in the cave is not attacking the mole... it's walking/running between his spawns trying to locate him. The time spent flicking prayers while attacking is negligible imo. You only get a good 2-3 attacks, sometimes only 1, once he starts digging around (which occurs once you get him below 50% health).
EDIT 2: Actually, it's been a while since I killed the mole, so I recalled incorrectly. I didn't need to flick prayers because I could just SGS spec it back up since the spec bar would always replenish while waiting for the mole to spawn

Venomoussaid: Hey guys, I know this may seem like a dumb question but i've always been skeptical about this.. is the OSBuddy client safe in oldschool? is it against the rules, thanks to all who answer.
It's "safe" in the sense that Jagex has deemed it acceptable for use, meaning you won't get banned for using the client. That being said, it's a third-party client, so your account's safety can never be 100% guaranteed. You use it at your own risk.

ScapeRunesaid: Beatrixsaid: Nornesaid: Not really comparable.high lvl PvP is boring as hell subjective You can dismiss one person's opinion as subjective, but if you asked a larger audience and found that the majority agreed with an opinion it's not subjective anymore. I think you'd find a lot more people would agree that PvP is much more fun at lower levels. Eh, that's sort of a stretch. I'm not sure I follow. I agree though - I found low level PK-ing more fun.
Woah, didn't realize you were efficiency Mist now.
I've cannoned a lot of tasks through Slayer, and use Piety etc. and I still am making profits. Slayer bosses such as Kraken and Thermy help maintain it since you always profit there big time. Plus a lot of decent "camp" monsters require Slayer anyway.
Beatrixsaid: ScapeRunesaid: The only one that stands out to me as overpowered is the noting of dagganoth bones. Mole one seems okay, although for that one I'd say a mole tracker would have been better.
You seemed like a clever person... come on read the rewards again, can you really say with a straight face that they're not op...
It's all relative to the stats required to obtain them. While on their own they might seem OP, remember it's not something everyone is going to be able to get. I think I read somewhere that some require 91 RC, 85 Mining, 90 Smithing, and one is even 99. The rewards don't seem too unreasonable with those requirements.
I searched Old School Runescape on Google and found this article from PC World talking about the success of some old-school games, and OSRS was one of the games discussed. Each section talks briefly about the specific game's history and showcases some pictures. The pictures shown in the part of the article talking about OSRS are from RSC. I literally lol'd.

Come to think of it, the interview portion itself is borderline accurate. Tons of things pass, and the community has overwhelmingly shown support for a progressing game. They probably should have interviewed the OSRS J-mods.

Got my sig as well __ ../..\--------------------/..\.. ./....\-.-Happy Holidays-.----/....\ /____\------NorneThreat------/____\ ..|_|...................................................|_|..
Your name is kept for a minimum of 28 + 7 = 35 days, but that's assuming you had the previous name for a very short time (like for only one month). If you've had the name Mist Rising for years and haven't changed it, it will be protected for a long time (probably longer than a year, but the exact time is not known).
Last known as only shows up if the account name is still connected to the account.
