Logically, the only thing you can assume about UIM is that they can't bank. That's what the gamemode is. It doesn't say anywhere in-game that Protect Item won't work for them, and there's no logical reason to suspect that it doesn't, especially when it can still be activated.

No one is suggested that it should work for UIM (I think), but if it does nothing, it shouldn't be possible to enable the Prayer.

I don't see any logical reason to oppose this.

You obviously have no clue about the game mode then. Why are you keen on wasting dev time on unnecessary changes?

Because this wouldn't take very long to implement, as the code to disable the Prayer already exists.

It's also not really "unnecessary," as a Prayer being possible to activate but having no effect sounds like a bug. In other words, this would be... an integrity fix.

It's undeniably not an integrity fix, but okay. There still haven't been any adequate reasons as to why we should waste dev time on this (non-UIM like yourself not knowing much about the game mode isn't really an acceptable reason).

Adequate reasons according to your standards, at least.

For anyone based in reality, we know that this wouldn't take long to implement, so the time the devs spend would be quite insignificant.

We know that there is precedent for a Prayer doing nothing being disabled, so there's an argument for consistency.

We know the game doesn't tell you anywhere that the Prayer does nothing, and even if it did, it should still be disabled, anyway.

We know this doesn't cause anyone any harm, and there's no real reason to oppose it other than bigotry against UIM or general distaste for QoL updates..

We know that not being a UIM doesn't mean we aren't allowed to have opinions, nor does not being a UIM make us wrong.

And finally, we know that I know a lot about UIM, actually, as I've stated, but what I know does NOT come from the game itself, but rather 3rd party resources such as the wiki, YouTube videos, other players, and so on.
I'll keep score from now on.

pardon me as i step into this clusterfuck.

i would argue the opposite of the OP though. i think protect item should function normally for ultimate ironmen. the lack of a bank is already such a massive handicap that being able to keep 1 thing on death shouldnt matter by comparison.
use dissenter periodcom to bypass censorship.

I'd support it either way. The consistency is mainly what I'm after.

Either it should be disabled like it is on High Risk worlds, or it should work for UIM. For whatever reason, it doesn't work for UIM, so it should be disabled.

I think making the prayer impossible to activate as a UIM is a less "meta-changing" update than letting them use Protect Item. I feel like more people would be willing to support the idea if they knew it's just fixing an oversight rather than an actual change to the gameplay.

Yet it is disabled is it not?

Its effects dont work for uim so in my eyes that means its disabled.

Yet this isnt an oversight otherwise it wouldve got talked about a lot sooner.

That would be nice but I'm not in support of making the game mode easier.
