Well, there's still risk vs reward involved.

I can potentially pay millions to insure all pets before I actually get them, and spent literally years hunting them but never get them. What happens to my money spent? It's basically money spent without obtaining a single benefit as long as those bosses don't drop their pets! What then, is the difference between myself dropping that cash in somewhere deserted and pouring that cash as deposit for in case I get the pet, which I did not?

I fully support this idea since it's not overpowering and as I mentioned, there are risks involved as well by deciding to insure pets beforehand.

It sucks that they censored my past username. Pfffft**********;

No problem. :)

If only I still have my past account, I would gladly join you for pet-hunting, but alas, Jagex just have to keep their bot-banned-count "consistent". The ultimate irony of fighting against bots and reporting them every so often and gotten smacked(accidentally for sure) for the very same offence I'm always against. :P

If I have the stats I'll go KQ hunting with ya, I really wanted that pet. But for now, RRCRCRCRCRCRCRCRCRCRCRCRCRCRCRCRC.

I hope this section receives love from the J-Mods, because I've received....scary rumours(or maybe based on personal observation as well) that this section is kinda like the second son they never love.

Nevertheless, the fight must continue.

Up.

Indeed. I was just laying down, browsing random RS videos on my phone when I saw another unfortunate sight. A player being killed in the Wilderness for his poor Callisto Cub. If only he had access to some kind of pre..insurance..thing. Shame. The real victim here is the Cub. It's parents were murdered and then it was cast out into darkness alone. Sniffle.

*cough*

Well! Good night. ^_^

The risk of getting pk'ed, potentially multiple times, if worst, many times way before you can even get the pet, in my opinion, should be enough of a "thrill" that people venture to the wilderness gets.

Look on the bright side for pkers, people buying pre-insurance are more encouraged to actually venture into the wilderness to kill bosses, which increases chancesthe pkers will be able to pk some of them.

That's simple to solve, you don't need to pre-insure every individual pet but you can pay insurance and it can cover any pet you get, but every time you get a new pet you have to pay the 'pre-insurance' again. Not such a big risk but there is still an element of risk as u may never get a pet.

You mean we should have the option to pay a sum to pre-insure any ONE pet that will be obtained in the future and when that ONE pet is obtained, it is automatically insured. Therefore, one will need to pay again to have another future pet(any pet) automatically insured upon obtaining it. That's a great idea, to be honest.

If that's not what you meant, then I humbly apologize. I do have the tendency to misinterpret at times.

For me it looks like a giant "W" and "B".

ANYWAY. Welcome back! ^^ And thanks! ALSO:

No chaos ele pet yet. :[

BUT TWO 99s. Kbai4nao.

Oh thank you. :)

And no problem. (feels like I'm thanking you and saying no problem myself directed to my thanks but that's not what it is! :P)

Maybe end of next month if we're both free, we can go bossing(chaos ele?) and try get you that pet (or I can be your bodyguard whilst you thump that fanatic, either way).

That is, of course, assuming you haven't gotten the pet by then. But knowing your track record, the RNG might be in your favor soon. ;)

I actually tried to solo KQ and managed to kill 1 per trip.

At 3rd kill, gotten a KQ head!@@@@@@@@@@@@!!!!@@@ (ohoho gg desert diary once I got the remaining stats)

I'm still hoping for a KQ pet though. I only dared to try solo her after getting kalphite task due to extremely poor stats, but works still. ^_^

No problem. :)

It's quite alright actually. I'm merely trying it out. It's scary since most KQ solo guides recommend way higher combat stats than what I currently have, I'm just risking it and it paid off, sorta (loot was bad though overall :/).

I'll be busy for a month at least until dissertation and assignment is completed at the very least, so I won't be playing too much. I'll still bump the thread whenever I can. ^_^

With that being said, bump, and rest well. ;)

Miaow ^_^

More pets will be available should you choose to skill. 4 skilling pets are currently passing polls, though they don't need pre-insurance of course. Just saying. ^_^

I still dream the same as yourself. Hopefully our plight will be realized, or at least be given a chance via a poll. For now, we can only keep our dreams and hope alive.

That being said, miaow. ;)

Ooooooooh, good to know. :P

It's good timing that you got back. I'm currently undergoing internship at a valuation firm so I'll tend to be quite busy for the next 4 months. I'll still try to find time to play OSRS whenever possible, but it is undeniable that such time will be shorter than usual.

So...yeah, miaow. ^_^

It's risk either way.

1. You go to wilderness without "pet pre-insure" and try your luck at a pet. Say you manage to get the pet, there's that risk of getting pk'ed and lose your pet.

or

2. You "pre-insured" your pet by paying a sum of money for the benefit of keeping your pet after earning it at the wilderness. Say, for whatever reason, you gave up on getting the pet or stopped trying to. The money that was lost is also a risk that people took when they paid for the benefit. You could end up not using it (with no refunds, money down the drain) if it is not utilized.

The more noticable difference between the 2 is that No.2 encourages people to pay for such benefit (money sink) and also to risk venturing to the wilderness to hunt for pets. Perhaps the difference is not major but there will certainly be a difference in behavior among aspiring or current pet hunter in terms of risk taking in the wilderness if this were to actually come out. Indirectly, this proposal can be considered as one small part of wilderness rejuvenation.

Just my $0.02.
