Quick suggestion.

Making certain worlds only have PvP enabled in the worlds.

To make this idea work, worlds would have to be significantly changed, please see below.

1. In the PvP enabled worlds, the boss drop rates are kept exactly the same as well as the effect of the prayer altar and other skill effecting boosts.

2. The resource area in the wilderness gather rate, would be significantly reduced in non enabled worlds, reducing the ability to farm the materials their without worry or fear.

3. In the non enabled worlds, the drop rate of bosses would also be significantly lowered, therefore making a 1/512 drop a 1/1536 drop rate instead (for example).

4. In non enabled worlds, Revenants would roam the wilderness and would attack you indiscriminately. They would not show a combat level, therefore leaving you with the option of fighting back or running, as you would with Pkers. The revenants would not have a drop table like those in the Rev caves and would only drop small quantities of food/potions and ammo/runes etc. The rare drops I would suggest as Dragon Scims and Daggers, for example.

5. Revenant caves would be disabled in non enabled worlds, therefore keeping that as a dangerous area for Pking in enabled worlds.

In conclusion, the reason I am suggesting this, is because the worlds that are enabled wilderness PvP would be more crowded, therefore creating more life and activity in the wilderness for PvP, whilst at the same time creating more activity in the wilderness for non PvP players in non enabled worlds, as people would still go into the wilderness and attempt bossing/resource gathering etc, even with drastic changes to drop tables and gather rates.

The non enabled wilderness would still pose the risk of untradeables being lost above level 30 wilderness and you could also revert the old death mechanics, to an extent, of 2 minute death timers before your items disappear. Therefore creating the risk element again for non PvP players.

At the same time, you are creating a vibrant and healthy PvP atmosphere for Pkers to enjoy and also keeping the odd skiller/pvm player in the wilderness that is trying to benefit from the better rates, etc.

Please let me know what you think of the idea :)

Thanks!

Let it go, JaGex had their chance to look after & maintain the PvP scene. They went the opposite route of trying to leech off the WoW phenomenon & simply just kept bringing in new shitty Npcs to kill with each update.

The real kicker for me was reading how players on these forums would literally be mocking PvPers at each poll by typing " hhahaahha that's we always vote NO on any PvP updates " regardless if they would affect that player or not.

All the PvPers are leaving for Fenforge in a year or so, we may still have a presence here, but it'll only be for the kicks & Lulz.

Idk the wilderness is a "classic" part of rs. Removing pvp from it would seem odd lol.
I could brag about my achievements down here, I just choose not to

no, if you want safe wilderness worlds , you have to take all the bosses and good drops out the wild.

That is why the drop rate would be hugely reduced a 1/1536 drop for an item worth £2m tops? Takes the ratio to that close to a sigil from corp. If people see that as a viable way to farm uniques, then so be it! Not to forget that the wilderness would be rife with Revenants meaning it would be near impossible to enter the wilderness without at least seeing one!

I'm not proposing removing PvP from it entirely, just triangulating it into worlds to bring it back to life. Whilst also giving players that don't partake in PvP an opportunity to still risk in the wilderness but not have some childish people trash talking you every 5 seconds because they are 'elite enough to kill you for your climbing boots'.... -_-

I think it would be great to have at least couple of worlds where non-aggressive players can safely enter the wilderness without being attacked by other players.

I am only interested in developing my skills and going on quests etc. I am not interested in 'killing' other players, although I have been tempted at times LoL ;)

How about worlds where damage to players doesn't exist at all? It'll be nice to camp all bosses with slightly lower drop rates but no wasted time. Great idea OP! If you don't like a game, don't play it. If you don't like certain content, don't play it. If you are unwilling to compromise don't beg companies to sacrifice profits for you.
Under promise, over deliver - a concept that is apparently very hard to understand.

Come on now don't be ridiculous. At least suggest that this can be done only when wearing an "everythingeum" bracelet that makes everything worth camping do 0 damage to you.
