Cross-Minigame Reward Shop Discussion

This thread is for us to discuss the possible items which could be put in the cross minigame reward shop which passed its poll in content poll #14.

For those that don't know - I will try and summaries the poll & what happened/hasn't since.


Should we introduce a minigame reward shop where you can use points and tokens from multiple minigames to purchase new items?

The things we voted no to were:
Bonecrusher that works the same way as RS3's

Rune Pouch to store runes while casting
(73%)

Augory & Rigour prayers
(62%)

Easy, med and hard clue scrolls

We have just voted for the clue scroll expansion and along with that comes our first reward from this shop.


"We'd also like to take this opportunity to release the minigame reward shop which you voted for in Poll 14. This shop will offer a coordinate kit that stores your sextant, watch, chart and spade as well as being able to buy elite clue scrolls at a very high cost."

Things which could possibly be rethought & have failed the previous polls:


Should Ahrim's staff be able to auto-cast Saradomin Strike?

Could this be redone as a bought imbue? Or are there other ideas for this to work?


Should we add a +20 ranged defence bonus to Bandos boots?

Should this count as an item imbue? Could there be other ways to improve these?


Should composite bows be changed to have the same attack speed as a shortbow, with the magic composite bow's special attack becoming the same as the magic shortbow?

The following rings could be imbued, using Nightmare Zone points, giving them higher combat stats: Onyx, Dragonstone and Diamond.

Nightmare Zone's reward shop could sell an ingredient that upgrades an anti-fire potion to a super anti-fire potion, requiring level 89 Herblore. The super anti-fire potion would block all dragonfire damage, and would also reduce the effects of the KBD's other attacks. Level 93 would be needed to add caviar. The potion and ingredient would be tradeable.

Could it sell an upgrade that only works with extended potions, which would increase the wildy rejuvenation effects?


If you are wearing a quest cape at the moment when you complete an Endurance dream, the cape could become trimmed light blue, giving it a +2 prayer bonus and increasing its defence stats from +9 to +11.

Does this need to be rethought? Possibly with different stats?


Nightmare Zone's reward shop could sell Mort Myre fungus to players who have completed the Nature Spirit quest.

Notable suggestions:

Hybrid Armours only for minigames.
Wieldable skilling items.
Dungeoneering skilling scrolls.
Consumables.
Overloads usable in minigames. (Would personally like a 90ish Herblore req.)
Runecrafter robes previously from GOP.
Gold to Onyx rings (i)
Runic Staff/Ability to imbue runes into a staff



*have to be suggested by multiple people to feature here

A few minigames have a broken reward structure - I will try and post some solutions to these.

Rogues Den:
At the minute your reward is random between nothing, rogue kits (can be turned into a lot of tools) and rogue armour pieces. I believe that you should recieve tokens to purchase these kits/pieces & be able to sell them back for an equal amount. This would enable another currency at the cross minigame reward shop without devaluing this (dead) minigame.

Tai Bwo Wanni Cleanup:
This offers a big problem in my opinion because the reward tokens are tradable. An option would be making the % that you help the tribe, a numerical number. But this may cause a slight backlash for people who have accumulated a lot of these sticks. I think someone will have to lose out on this one.

Pyramid Plunder:
This has a similar issue to the minigame above, tradable rewards. I'd say make these untradable and work as an unstockable Tokkul. The NPC in the desert will be able to buy them off you for a currency of reward points (now sellable in note form). You can then buy sceptres with enough of these points as the ultimate rewards, with others items such as black ibis, enchanted water tiara, enchanted watering can and a lot of other potential sellables. You'd be able to use this currency at the minigame reward shop OFC.

Tokkul:
This one I see as hard because it's potentially a buyable, with the weapons/gems/runes as the currency used to transfer Tokkul. This would leave two minigames (fight pits and fight caves) unable to be used in the minigame reward shop. This makes me feel as though I should come up with some sort of a solution. The only thing I can come up with is that from now on, these minigames will offer a different currency, which works with Tokkul to buy items but is only from minigames and therefore can be transferred in the shop. These would just be white with black trimmed tokkul coins with a different name.

These I wouldn't mind seeing in the shop. No to the clues though.

Heck some of the other dungeoneering rewards wouldn't be a bad idea, such as some of the scrolls to aid in certain skills.

Since the thread isn't selling like hot cakes I'll post some of my own ideas :P

Greater Runic Staff in place of the Rune Pouch. This could store 1000 casts of any spell and auto cast any spell on all Ancient/Standard spell books (minus ones that require other staves, slayer dart and god spells for example).

Reaons: Would be a magers +1 item for dangerous activites - meaning they finally don't have to risk way more than other classes to use their better spells.

Stats: 17 magic attack, 22 magic defence, 5-10% magic damage (balancing).

Darklight (i) - Requires balancing but make it very worth having for killing demons (currently is as good as a D Long, think it should be THE BEST for killing them).

Onyx-Gold Rings (i), these would have new special effects rather than stats:
Onyx, gives +15 strength bonus, +10% magic damage and +20 ranged strength in TzHaar areas.
Dragonstone, if using a Glory charge - 20% chance charge isn't used up
Diamond, All coin drops received are halved, rounded down and collected automatically
Ruby, +2 mining boost - when mining ores, 5% chance they come out as a smithed bar.
Emerald, herbs are shown already cleaned - rather than unid (bot's already abuse, gives legit players a chance & can be done with injection clients already)
Sapphire, all boat travel is free, shanty pass is free, as much free exploration as possible
gold, -5kg weight

Unlock New Fairy Ring Locations (feldip hills, ape atoll, nardah, ancient cavern, mages bank, lunar isle & haunted woods)

----------------------

New seeds:
Snape Grass Seed - Recoloured weeds.
Potato Cactus Seeds - Resized cactus plant - smaller.
Mahogany/Teak Tree Seeds - Similar exp to maple/yew *untradable

----------------------

Overloads & Spec Restore Potions usable for other minigames - Fight pits & Castle Wars & Clan Wars.

No imbue please.

Just give it +20 Magic attack and defense bonus AND allow it to cast Saradomin Strike.
