Howdy.

Basic premise of this idea is that there is an interdimensional portal that connects numerous if not all of the planes together.

The Daemonheim Rift

The Daemonheim rift is housed at the bottom of Daemonheim, otherwise known as Floor 61, what Bilrach spent several hundreds year digging towards. This rift according to Bilrach's notes whispered to him and eventually became a voice as he got closer, only Zamorak prescence in Daemonheim seems to keep them at bay.

Mysterious Chronicle part 29:

Original message details are unavailable.
Year 137 of the Fifth Age:

His whispers have turned to voices, and I am close to Him now. I am but a few years from the end; yet, I fear the progress will be slow. So much of my power is spent defensively, propping up the floors that threaten to crash down upon me. The floors above are warped, out of control and dangerously unstable

This also leads a to conclusion that the energy from the rift is what causes the Warped floor distinctive Red colour. Though Bilrach is responsible for most of what we consider Daemonheim it is suggested that some of the Dungeons existed already before he arrived and were created by the Dragonkin.

Following Bilrach and Moia entering the Rift they were both transported to different Planes, Bilrach to Freneskae and Moia to Zamorak's location, this suggests the rift is more than capable of transporting to more than just a few worlds and as Bilrach was able to return from Freneskae it would imply there are other rifts through the Universe.

Bilrach in his convesation during Dishonour amoung Thieves:

Original message details are unavailable.
Bilrach: We were torn from each other as we tumbled through the dimensions. She would eventually find Zamorak, but to my knowledge she was gone.
Bilrach: I returned to Gielinor with the once-great Chelon-Mah captive.
Bilrach:I intended to use it to bring back Zamorak.

The Schism

The Schism is a magical power source used by Humans are their original homeworld of Teregard, which was used to power devices used by their society and the only source of magic on that world.

The Young Robert

Original message details are unavailable.
He describes the Schism as a great black hole surrounded by a corona of red crackling lightning, that arched to nearby obelisks that stored the energy. He says he felt that it called to him, whispering promises of other places and other stories. Before he even knew what he was doing he had stepped into the blackness and found himself in another world.

This is Robert the Strong's description of the Schism before he entered it and found himself on Gielinor. This is quite interesting, not only does the Schism seem to emit a red energy of sort, but more crucially this 'Schism' whispered to Robert tempting the adventure craving man in the same way they whispered pulled Bilrach further and further into Gielinor's depths.

One and the same

The similarties are clear, the Rift that sits on the 61st floor of Daemonheim and the Schism on Teregard are the same thing but just are different entry points.

Mysterious Chronicle Part 12

Original message details are unavailable.
Year 1505 of the 4th Age:

Progress is frustratingly slow, as of late, but it is progress at least. I'm nearing the end with every day and I must retain my focus, my drive. I know what dwells at the bottom - there is only one thing powerful enough that can emanate power across planes of existence. I must be right.

Bilrach recognised it as a power crossing several planes, from end of the universe to the other, he misinterpreted the source but was correct nonetheless. This may not be limited to the worlds we know of as every plane could have their own rift buried somewhere.

Questions and speculation

This theory raises a few questions of course, so i'm going to throw a few ideas around.

-Robert the Strong would have first arrived on Gielinor at what we know as floor 61, this would of been when the Dragonkin were at one their most active times (Early 4th age). Running with this idea would mean some sort of dungeon did at least exist on the lowest levels, but also Robert's first encounter with a Dragonkin would have been very soon after his arrival.

- What on Gielinor are the whispers?
This could vary from a random god, to a creature in the abyss or something else entirely and it's makes it all the more fascinating to think about

- What caused these rifts?
Could be Dragonkin (Too simple), Elder Gods (Not sure why they would need it) or something else entirely. Bilrach's account did suggest there was some travel time and that process was not instant, also we have not had single account yet of someone travelling into a rift on the otherside and ending up anywhere else than Gielinor.

-Results for Floor 61?
This could mean whenever we get the full story behind Floor 61, there could be something else to it rather Bilrach's speluncking through a dead wasteland.

...I honestly never put 2 and 2 together. The question is though what is this mysterious thing assuming that they are in fact one and the same? Maybe it's an artifact? -Ascertes, King of all the Hallowlands and the Ever-Chosen of Saradomin.

It occurred to me a little while ago, Elder Gods already had other means and the rift seems to release a different kind of energy (It could perhaps come from outside our current universe)
