Today i decided to do DOD again.
After some talk with aris, something's my character said were rather interesting..

Player: Ugh, we’ve been through this already.

(Gypsy Aris: Do you think your actions have made the world a better place?)

Player: No, I have harmed Gielinor's people more than I have helped them.

(Gypsy Aris: I hope you answered honestly, for I see into your heart. Now, answer me these questions three... What do you most desire?)

Player: (I desire) To be rich.

(Gypsy Aris: Interesting. Do you regret anything?)

Player: (I regret) My selfish pursuit of wealth and treasure. I am covetous.

(Gypsy Aris: Hmm. I see. Why do you complete quests? Why do you adventure?)

Player: (And i adventure) To earn glory and renown.

Interesting don't ya think? I never said anything on those questions, aside from the first one.
Or is it just me? That this happens.

Anyway, i wanne know what you people think. Is this what the World Guardian really thinks? Or is the choice is still ours of why we do quests. Let me know and discuss.

You must have forgotten the last time you answered it.

You're given the choice between options the first time.

If you say "Ugh, we’ve been through this already.", it just repeats the same answers as your previous runthrough.

So it's not that that's what the World Guardian necessarily thinks, it's just that when you last did DoD, you were feeling like a greedy ******* and answered accordingly.

Kerapac: No.

Player: No, I have harmed Gielinor's people more than I have helped them.

Player: To be powerful.

Player: All the death inflicted by my hands. I am a murderer.

Player: To gain knowledge and skills.

Those were my answers.
I choose those again, reset, Didn't anwsered the one's i said before.

Edit: Even the first time i did the quest i said the same as i posted on this post.

Just did another quick runthrough, and it looks like it's not the previous responses like I thought, it's the ones you answered the first time you did the quest.

So my "nice guy" answers are locked in.

That's nice to know.

That is pretty hilarious.

The World Guardian is ultimately a vaguely heroic "hollow character" that we put ourselves in the shoes of, and Jagex does their best to let us roleplay as and shape.

For example, I had a good laugh at Sir Owen's eulogy. (I don't remember if I actually said these things, but man did I want to)
Player: As a Temple Knight, you were useless.
Player: In battle, you were utterly superfluous.
Player:...I hope you suffer in eternal fire.
Player: Sir Owen...you poor dead fool.
Player: You were always annoying, and...
Player: I hope you rot.
* loot corpse *
Headcanon Haven, where everything is made up and the points don't matter.
OSRS Lore: Xeric

It's a roleplaying game, noob. The reason is what you want it to be. The purpose of life is finding the largest burden that you can bear and then indeed bearing it.

This thread can be converted into one where all lorehounds gather to talk about why they really do quests and enjoy the lore. It would be a nice chat.:) Brassica X Marimbo OTP
