TH Suggestion: Level Feast!
===================

Level Feast is an idea for a promotion to TH that would allow faster training in skills and promote groups to train together.

On TH during the promotion, players would be able to receive Sacred Gumdrops, candies that have been infused with divine energies. Players can also receive "teaser" amounts of Sacred Gumdrops during skilling/combat, but the vast majority comes via TH. The Gumdrops will be tradeable. (GE? Not sure, but it'd make it more convenient.) Roughly 95% of Sacred Gumdrops will be obtainable only through TH.

When consumed, the game asks how many you want to consume (up to 180 at a time). For each Sacred Gumdrop you consume, you receive 1 minute (in real-time) of Level Feast status.

Here's how Level Feast status works: For every 10,000 xp or 10 level-ups (whichever happens first), you receive a 0.01 boost to your XP modifier. There are also two ways to boost this further: 1) each time you receive a 0.01 boost from Level Feast and it is a different skill than one than one you've trained so far, the XP modifier gets a 0.05 boost, and 2) anytime a player gets the 0.01 boost, they emit a radial blast going out 10 steps, and any player within range also gets a 0.01 boost as long as they are also under Level Feast status.

The maximum boost for Level Feast is 2.7 XP modifier, same as the original bonus xp weekends. There may be limitations on what receives bonuses and what, if anything, stacks with it, similar to current double xp weekends.

Finally, for players that can get their modifier to 2.7 and obtain 1 million or more XP while in Level Feast, they can obtain the rare Super Gumdrop, which when used gives them the choice of a Gumdrop pet or "The Sacred" title.

If a player allows their Level Feast timer to drop to 0, they lose the status and modifier, but if a Sacred Gumdrop is eaten again, it returns to previous levels while in Level Feast for the length of the promotion.

Thoughts? Feedback? Criticisms? Concerns?

I know some players will hate the idea, but given the playerbase, I think it's a great idea to give them a way to speed through the grind considering RS's massive grind game, and it'll promote group play and make money for Jagex. Win-win-win!

Sigh. The game is already full to bursting with MTX garbage, group play should be encouraged by the actual game content, not MTX. And Jagex making more money has proven to not benefit the game in any way; quite the opposite in fact, the quality and quantity of game updates have decreased as Jagex's profits have increased. If your suggestion is meant to satisfy the stakeholders and not the players, then good job, it's doing exactly that.

Yes, it is, because the game is a business. It is also meant to encourage a time of group play, which I think it will, and also to give artificial means for players to level faster. Like it or not, RS's level grind is waaaaay more than any other successfull MMO out there, so to continue in the current day and age, opportunities like this are needed and should be embraced. sTReTCh1028

So, how much ARE they paying you?

No support, in case it wasn't apparent.
Fullblown non-playing lurker since 26/06/17. May come back if both the devs and the MTX team get their bloody act together.

Microtransactions help support the game's further development, and increased abilities to levels ensures deeper commitment and accessibility of game content for newer players. You're fooling yourself if you think a new generation of players is going to pick up a game where you spend 200 hours to level just 1 skill all the way. Microtransactions like this (and the lamps and similar ones) are win-win for the game. The only players it hurts are the delusional veteran players who think their achievements will always stay as prestigious; times change, and so must this game. sTReTCh1028

Might as well re-release rares on th too that will bring in many new players.

Perhaps, and if so, this is a good idea. But I don't think it will. New players don't realize the significance of rares, that update would be more aimed at veteran players, so I don't think it'd have the same effect.
