Yes. Speaking of the cow mask, I think it'd be highly appropriate to try and release the rest of the cow suit for our 2nd birthday at the end of February.
Wait, so you get back all your items if you die? Thats just ridiculous, aren't bosses supposed to be dangerous, there has to be atleast SOME risk involved.....
Suppose we drop your stuff on the ground, and say you can reclaim it if you get back fast enough.
The route to Zul-Andra is very predictable, without random delays or threats. So if we allow you enough time, you're pretty much guaranteed to get your stuff back unless you've disconnected (and there's little point penalising people for that). Or if we don't allow you enough time, you're pretty much guaranteed to lose all your stuff. There's not much middle ground in between those choices.
Also, with the instanced QBD in RS3, it became apparent that if we drop everyone's loot outside an instance, the items vanish due to the limit of how many items can exist in an area. So that's definitely not an option.
We've therefore gone with this relatively safe option, bearing in mind that you're consuming a lot of food/potions/runes/ammo to fight Zulrah at all, so there's quite an investment involved in it.
Plus many popular combat items degrade or uncharge on death, so you'd be losing something there too.
Looks pretty cool! Good job. Will you stream in the future about Zulrah and talking about some of its mechanics? Wait a bit with it ofc...
I suspect the internet's currently filling up with people doing that. But yes, we're sure to feature Zulrah in future streams of our own. And eventually Ronan will presumably do one of his 1000 kill streams.
So is the current attack speed (2-speed @ 1.2s per attack) is a mistake or what?
A shortbow is normally 4, or 3 if it's on rapid.
The blowpipe is normally 3 (equal to a shortbow on rapid), or 2 if it's on rapid itself.

We did technically do that for Callisto, in case anyone was wondering if a bear goes in the woods.
I'm afraid I didn't see any numbers for w330, since I was doing a livestream at the time.
I think the helmet should have a strength of +3. It really looks bad with other max strength gear, bandos ect. It doesn't match at all.
I think I'd rather we didn't reduce the helm's stats as a response to you not liking its appearance.
But why did you guys word it that way?
I'm sorry if it wasn't clear. Still, if we'd put "equivalent to a shortbow", I'd understand why you'd expect it to be like a shortbow. "Equivalent to a shortbow on rapid" would be one tick faster. Which it is.
Meanwhile, the blowpipe has a relatively low max hit compared to a high-end bow (apart from its special attack), and it has a substantially shorter range too.

Look on your hard drive for a folder called "jagexcache", and delete it. See if that helps. It solves a surprising number of issues.
I do have a question regarding poison. Does the poison tick coming from these new weapons/helmet have a unique damage tick or does it override other poisons such as smoke barrage/weapon poison? it would be neat to have its own, unique damage tick to give it better damage output overall if you were to add them together.
It overrides other poisons.
While it would indeed give a higher damage output overall if we were to add them together, I think that might be a tad excessive.

The description says "When wearing the serpentine helm you are immune to all poisons and venom." Please can you confirm that this includes the pyramid plunder minigame? Are all drops tradeable directly? Thanks.
Yes, it stops you being poisoned by the snakes or the "something moving inside the urn". But you still take the one-off damage hit when you get bitten.
The rule is as follows:
- If you already have the poison timer running on you, it keeps running. Equipping the helm won't cure you.
- If you take a one-off hit that uses the "poison" or "venom" hitsplats, you still take that hit.
- However, the helm prevents the poison timer from starting if you get attacked by a poisonous creature.
Yes, all Zulrah's new items are tradeable when dropped, and in their uncharged states. They stop being tradeable when they're charged with scales and/or loaded with darts, but a PKer can still loot them if the situation arises.
Do you think it would be possible to add dark stone to construction any time soon?
In the last priority survey, we offered to do a big batch of Construction updates. It didn't get much support, so we're not doing that, but we can still introduce some Construction work as quality-of-life tweaks. Like having the Build Mode button work outside houses.
Setting up a POH style with dark stone shouldn't be hard. All we had for my Love Story quest reward was the light stone model painted grey. (GFX budget limitations of 2009.)
You will NEED to use at least two of the three forms of combat in order to take on the boss. It is going to be challenging regardless of your stats or boss killing experience.
Yet people all use 100% range...
A bug or a type mistake?
We'd found that hybriding could be quite effective. Still, if people can kill it with just ranged attacks, and there's enough demand to prevent this, we could certainly buff the boss to stop it being killed without magical assistance.
But right now I'm not looking to buff it.
