When corp was released was it mentioned that only spears do full damage?

I don't recall, but the situations wouldn't be so similar anyway because the corp was copied from something players had seen before.

Anyway, for the benefit of players who haven't seen discussion about this before, the spectral shield has a special use in this fight. However, it may not necessarily be the best shield to use, and it's certainly not obligatory.

This is because players have frequently asked us to give the spectral shield a specific use; it already had a higher magic defence bonus than the elysian, but relatively few boss situations make that useful. So it was suggested on a livestream that we give it a use against one of the new bosses, and we agreed to consider it.

Is Cerberus killable with 86/87..(and so on) Slayer with the usage of Wild Pies, or do you actually have to have 91 to even attempt it??

Stat-boosts should work like they do against any other monster's Slayer requirement.

You can't boost your stat to get an assignment, but you wouldn't have needed a stat-boost to get a hellhound task anyway.

Slayer master asking player how many he would like to kill... Lmao, you debase everything to please the crowds.

We'd always said we'd pitched it low, and that we'd be happy to increase the numbers if crowding weren't an insuperable problem. So what we've done is leave players to decide for themselves whether crowding is a concern for them.

I actually found another question in my mind tho - how is my dragon pickaxe gonna look if I use this new stone on it, after it already has the upgrade kit on it?

The decorated dragon pickaxe is too beautiful to convert into an infernal tool.

Is there an ETA for the rework of the slayer table, more specifically the removal of combat level requirements to get a cetrain assignment? Haven't heard much about that lately.

It's coming. We don't have a specific date in mind.

I guess you're right. This is not the same game anymore that was designed to have 13 million smithing XP requirement (with slow training methods!) to smith the best weapon in the game...

No, it's not. It's not the same game where you had to click the rock each time you wanted to swing at it either, or where you had to waste an inventory slot on a sleeping bag, or equipped items still counted towards your inventory capacity. The game has changed, and in many ways it's become easier.

You could call it debasing the game, or catering to noobs, and you'd be entirely entitled to that view. On the other hand, I think that's a rather extreme thing to argue when we're discussing whether a boss task should be 6 or 35 bosses.

Have you ever considered decreasing the XP rates?

Didn't feel it to be necessary for this feature. Many of these bosses were already available in Slayer categories anyway, and the bonus 5k XP becomes less significant as the task gets bigger.

Will the infernal Pickaxe smelting passive stack with goldsmithing gauntlets?

No, that's still just for actual smelting, not for this infernal combustion effect.

ok so basically people can take your kill mid of the kill, dont u think its better to have instance ?

Stealing Cerberus - like any other NPC in single-way - is possible if the attacker leaves it alone for too long, yes. With Cerberus, you're encouraged not to do that. In fact if you leave Cerberus alone too long, it resets its health.

We've had a lot of opposition to instancing existing bosses due to the rate at which their drops would come into the game if everyone could grind on them non-stop. This is launch day; players are burning through reward points to get suitable tasks quickly, so crowding is to be expected. Having instances - certainly as a permanent feature - would make the drops become junk extremely quickly.

Does this now put a lv91 slayer req on the music cape?

No, a player with a hellhound task should be able to unlock Maws, Jaws & Claws by entering the boss rooms without needing the Slayer level to face Cerberus.

Oh ok! Is the track "That Sullen Hall" newly released with this update as well?

Yes, it's unlocked in the area outside the boss rooms where the Key Master stands.

The newspost says nothing about regular hellhounds dropping the smouldering stones? Did you forget to add the drop to them or..?

I guess it got forgotten. They now do. Just not often.

Is the level 85 Firemaking/Smithing requirements for Infernal tools still in place, or were those removed?

Those requirements exist, yes. They're in the skill-guides too.

You may want to add in the post that infernal tools are untradeable :S found out the hard way.

When you create an infernal axe, you are required to click through the following warning message:
Are you sure you wish to convert your dragon axe into an infernal axe? This cannot be reversed. Infernal axes are untradeable.
There's a corresponding message for pickaxes.

I'm sorry if you missed it.
