Maz has got quite a lot of work done towards it. I don't know exactly when she'll be done - and then it needs testing - but Maz is also going to have to spend a fair bit of time preparing for the arrival of a new developer in the OSRS team. (We mentioned we were recruiting, I think.) That may hold up some dev work in the short term, but it's in a very good cause.

Ian's work on the changes to key-dropping, and also the Construction bugfix, were very big jobs, and I'm afraid it's not been possible to do much else just now.

If someone's hitting a lot of zeroes, after a while the game will let players steal them from combat even if it's single-way.

I appreciate those other things are important to you, but I'm afraid we could not have done them in this week's update.

We aim for Thursday mornings, but sometimes we'll wind up holding an update for a few extra minutes to resolve issues, or to sort stuff out. Also, the 30 minute timers we're now using delay updates by 20 extra minutes, though I hope people mostly find that helpful.

I'd recommend trying to finish your wave and log out if you see the countdown start while you're in the Fight Cave. Rushing through from wave 61 to Jad under the countdown pressure might not have worked out well for you.

Provided you log out inside the cave, it continues from the last wave you completed.

So if you log out mid-wave, you must repeat that wave.
If you log out at the end of a wave, you continue from the next wave.

Thankfully we also have Ian and Maz, and Kieren and John can do quite a bit of dev work too these days.

I found it a bit annoying that I lost so much of this week to a Construction job, trying to make it support the XP changes. Construction code is impressive for 2006, but not at all nice to work on.

Ah, I've added that to the newspost now.
POH just didn't work very well for players whose Construction XP had decreased due to Deadman mode. I've had to try to understand the 2006 code and edit how it deals with houses reaching their max size.

In case you're wondering, the rule should now be that a player whose POH is too wide/long for their Construction level will still have full access to their rooms, but will be prevented from adding new rooms until they shrink the house down again to their proper size limit.

Incidentally, I found while I was in there that the skill guide claimed you could build an 8x8 house with a high Construction level. This wasn't true - as far as I can tell, you never could. In fact the data storage couldn't have supported that. I've adjusted the skill guide accordingly.

The Monster Examine spell is a Lunar spell. It requires Dream Mentor.

It's important to try and address issues in a new piece of content quickly, whereas a radical change to the PvP mechanics in the old school game is something we'd not just rush out to do. After all, OSRS combat has been roughly like this since 2004, so it's probably not so urgent. We can apply the same anti-boxing change to the main OSRS worlds if people like, but I'd be a little surprised to find enough support for that.

Spawn times are configured somewhere separate to the Slayer XP-giving code. The two were not connected, and I'd have wanted to do rather more testing when shoving overrides into the XP change, whereas I was fairly comfortable changing the KQ's spawn time by myself at the weekend with no QA tester around.

I appreciate you want all those other updates, and it may feel unfair that you've had some updates but we didn't do all the ones you most wanted. The other stuff from the polls will come. But it can't all come at once.

Check that you've got the option turned on on the options menu.

Also, some 3rd party clients have their own zoom behaviour that may not be doing quite what you expect, so if you're using someone else's client, do check theirs.

The OSRS community is not dwindling. It's growing, and DMM made it even bigger.

We try to deliver updates for all types of players. We weren't especially confident that we could apply the Iron Man restrictions properly in the POH code to avoid abuse there. So as a failsafe we simply blocked the houses altogether.

The towns are guarded, but PvP is not supposed to be prevented there. This is not a bug.

It'd be nice if we could launch everything as quickly as players want it, but I'm afraid that isn't going to be possible. That feature will come.

Rebooting the game to launch a new feature is quite disruptive to everyone who's trying to play at the time, so we tend not to do it away from the expected Thursday reboots unless it'll solve a critical bug. That's not a fixed rule, of course, but it really does annoy players to be kicked offline for a reboot.
