In-game Name Changes & Sorting
Quick find code: 380-381-373-65893824
Nice, I like the sorting. Any chance we could have a toggle-feature to remove the ugly icons next to people's names that have recently changed thier user in the future?
I'm sorry the icon's so off-putting for you. While we could install a toggle somewhere to hide it, that kind of thing isn't always quick to do, and the icon's actually supposed to be useful.
Also, I think "recently changed their user in the future" sounds like a timey-wimey situation

very dissappointing update
You can do the name changes on the rs3 webpage
Yes, you can, though other players seemed to feel that having an in-game one would be an improvement. Also, the website can't check for the skill total requirement in permanent DMM mode, which the in-game version should be able to do correctly now. But I appreciate it's not something you personally wanted.
Cmon ash you doing amazing job, lets have updates of importance not stupid name changes and friend list they been ok for years
Given the number of players who've said they had trouble finding people in their friends/chat-channel lists, a sort feature might be of some use to them. Again, I appreciate it's not something you personally wanted. Hopefully future updates will bring things that are more interesting to you.
Tell Mod Ghost he is handsome.
I'm sure he knows.
The toggle could be somewhere as miniscule as right-clicking the smiley-tab/icon and having a drop down menu "toggle icon: off"
Yeah, interface work has never been quick. Especially for drop-downs menus.

Finally you fixed team scalling ppl have gained many items doing that method, should have fixed from beginning..
Getting things perfect first shot is always better, yes. But I'm not optimistic we'll ever be able to guarantee that. Sorry.
Regarding the "many items" bit of your complaint, though, I gather the rate at which those items came into the game has not actually increased during it. While it allowed high points totals, the time required to get them was considerably longer than raiding normally. So the items-per-time rate wasn't so much affected.
why wasent the dialog removed when adding ores to the furnace rather than remove the option to use "1" to confirm? its not like people "by accident" use ores on the furnace?
The specific request from players who'd had the problem was to not make "1" do that. We would have equally been able to do the other thing you've suggested, though I'm personally more inclined to tweak a newly-released feature than mess around with longer-established game features.

FL sorting looks awesome. Would it be too much to ask to add a hoover-over info that shows when a friend or a clan member was last online? It would help with clan management.
Additional personal short notes for each player could be displayed as well but... Might require some engine work
Both of your requests would. I can only make the interface show information that's exposed from the engine. Regarding the last-online thing, I don't know if the engine's even got that itself.
Well, at least the game shows when you yourself last logged in.
Yeah, it just doesn't get to load that info for everyone you might subsequently add to your lists.
When checking if a clan member is inactive it is sometimes difficult to find if they havn't gained any XP that shows up in a 3rd party tracking site. Or if their XP tracking hasn't been updated which makes the data inaccurate.
The system built on friends list (friends chat) just doesn't feel very natural compared to other MMORPGs' clan systems... Are there any plans to make open clan database in OSRS similar to RS3?
We'd love to get something like RS3 has, or something better. Maz gathered ample ideas from players about what they'd like to be able to do with it. The challenge is getting it done, since the engine team's workload is high, covering a lot of our other functions too, plus the rest of the company.
I just checked a handful of names I couldn't add to the friend's list to the new name checker and they all said "Name Rejected" does this means they were all banned names or is it because they are unavailable because of the name release?
Not sure. You'll appreciate the game's form is just passing on the response it gets from the central webmodule that's dealing with all the name-change requests; I don't have a whole lot of visibility of why a certain name might be handled in a specific way.
Keep getting booted out of the game. Login limit exceeded message keeps showing. There is a post about this in Old School General. Please fix this, it is gettting impossible even to log in for longer than 3minutes. Or atleast adress the comunity about this issue.
Currently no info to share there, sorry. If the worlds are getting network attacks again, the sysadmins will automatically be made aware and will do whatever they can to block it.
why not just remove the "Eat" option on the gout tubers altogether?
Could do. Didn't have a pressing reason to delete the entire feature when making it right-click should solve the issue players were having.
So what can be done? Because it is not possible to play the game lke this. Started happening after Sys Admins fixed the big disconecting issue one month ago. Cheers
Hmm. Perhaps the protection that stopped the problems back then is giving some problems of its own. Removing the protection might, of course, just give us back the attacks we had at the time. Anyway, the sysadmins have been keeping track of what goes on with the worlds - they've got more monitoring than they used to have - and will do what they can.
I would very much like to know if I am able to now complete the quest, and return to the island using the gliders, WITHOUT gaining Defense XP from Daero!
The only glider route to Ape Atoll, without doing Monkey Madness II, is via the hangar. And Daero won't take you to the hangar without getting that XP off him.
I'm afraid this update didn't make any difference to that.

Since inferno/jad2/firecape 2 failed its last poll, when can we vote NO again before you imbeciles pitch and create unwanted content
As you may have noticed in the blogs, what is being offered this time is actually quite different to the small Fight Cave appendix that failed a poll before. It's larger, has different gameplay, and has different rewards. So I don't agree that it's the same thing that failed that poll. But I appreciate you don't see a difference, and I hope it's not causing you undue trouble to vote No if you don't want this version either.
Some nice updates, but can you work on the official client a bit? Add some features such as ranks next to peoples names, make it open scaled properly?
A lot of that would require more game engine work than we can offer at the moment. As you might imagine, if we'd spent the last 4 years doing client updates, we'd have a lot more client updates... but no other updates would have come out. We do what we can.
