I logged out of my runescape account for roughly an hour, when I logged back in I was in Lumbridge and all my items and gold was gone.
I have an authenticator and a bank pin on my account set and was still hacked, I believe that is the most secure you can make your account.
I haven't clicked on or participated in any activity to lead to this either. I am so confused and
I have lost my bank of 1.2 bill. I don't know what to do to get my stuff back.

Can anyone please help me?

1. Have you ever shared your login credentials with anybody? One of the more common ways hackers have hijacked accounts recently is by going through old messages on social medias + Discord to look for login details you may have shared with trusted friends. If you or the friend you shared with was hijacked on that media account, your RS account would be compromised.

2. Do you have Authenticator set up on the email address associated with your RS account (this is also called "2FA" ). If you don't have Authenticator on your email address, having Authenticator on your RS account is completely pointless as they can cancel it through the registered email address with no delay.

Hey there,

First, before changing any information, follow the steps outlined in the Securing your computer support article. Without performing this step first before changing account details, you could possibly hand the keys right back over to the hijacker if there is malicious software on your computer.

Next up, check out the information on the Securing your account support article. You'll note the first step entails changing your email account password - having an insecure email account can be disastrous.

If you're still in need of help, check out the sticky threads in the Community Led Account Help. There are many knowledgeable, fellow players that frequent that forum that are able to give you plenty of advice on locking your account down and securing your computer and, in turn, your account.

So many hours wasted! Well thats it for this game then, I cant play a game that is this easy to hack after needing so much time to get there is the first place.

If you secure your RuneScape account and device, being hacked is not that easy.

It is up to each person to keep your account safe. Jagex does give us the
tools and knowledge if we just look.

First your email needs 2fa on it.. You need to read up on phising sites.
You need to become familiar with Jagex's email. Such as they never ask
you to "cancel" an email change. Jagex will also have your characters name
on the email.

Dont click any links on social media.. facebook, youtube, twitch. If you
are asked to go to RS forums or such.. do so on your own. Not thru a
link.

Lastly Jagex wont ask for PIN to get on forums or even an authenticator.

And finally the authenticator on your account.. And a bankPin which is
such a secure piece of info Jmods dont know it.
The richest person is not who has the most. It is who Needs the least.
