i had to factory reset my laptop i was not able to start it up so everything got erased, i downloaded google crome to download fire fox then download jre-8u151-windows-x64(1) from java download page, took me ages then i downloaded old school runescape on my pc and it wont load all i get is the message " There was an error loading the game configuration from the website. If you have a firewall, check that this program is allowed to access the internet.
I have watch many videos on YouTube on how to fix it and nothing really works, i did the property did not work, i set allow on fire wall programs and added the client to access Internet and it wont work. I have been stuck on this problem for 3 weeks with out playing oldschool runescape and is very frustrating. I don't want to reset my laptop again and try to download everything back again. it takes me about 7 hours to set it up. some one please help me :(:(:(:( . i haven't even cancel my membership still current and i cant not even play.

I'm on Windows 7 and I go to Start and search for cmd. All that comes up are NRZEngine and NRZUI. How do I access command prompt?

All I did was end my stream on Twitch. Right after all my RS2 and RS3 said "attempting to reestablish connection" then now it can't even load the log in screen when I restart clients. Just keeps giving a pop up about something about a firewall (I have disabled all Windows firewalls ages ago).

Kheasan said:
-netsh winsock reset
-netsh winsock reset catalog
-netsh int ipv4 reset

This worked for me when i got the 6200 error.
Thanks and hope it helps others.
(Win7 64x)

I am hotspotting my computer for internet while abroad across Europe and I keep receiving the 6,200 error. I have not launched RS over Wi-Fi so I cannot guarantee that the mobile hotspot is the culprit. None of these above suggestions worked for me (Reinstalled, reset the winsock catalog, and running as admin/messing with powershell).

My only working solution: use a VPN. ;)O_o

As for fixes.
First error like this i used :
netsh winsock reset
netsh winsock reset catalog
netsh int ipv4 reset

When this stopped working i tried a VPN and/or ipconfig /flushdns
These helped sometimes but not often...
As for the other times, i went researching.
What i found is since i use a mobile tethering/hotspot, some things are just blocked without reasoning.
e.g. http://www.world2.runescape.com/ when trying to access this it wouldn't allow me to.
What i found is if you get this error it will attempt to connect to a different world each time.
For example http://www.world3... is world 3 and so on. Fortunately i managed to find a url (world) that i could connect to. This led to me just spam opening runescape until it connected to one that worked. This was just my fix but i hope it at least helps someone!

Hey guys, Thought I'd chip in here as I just had the same issue and literally did all of this with no luck, I concluded that I would just go onto the runescape download page download it again but before downloading unsitalling the version 1.2.7 then going back and installing it again this worked... Dunno how but if it helps it helps

I have this problem same as everyone else. I have probably tried 5-10 different ways and nothing is working. Runescape doesnt appear as an option under my firewall, and my files are not corrupted and are trusted by my anti virus. Does anyone have anything else to recommend? I first noticed the problem directly after I updated windows 10. (too many updates)
