Hello y'all,

I'm ANovel70. Most of you reading this won't know me, so here's a short introduction.

I've been playing RuneScape since August 25 2005, according to Hans. I've been on and off since in F2P. I started getting into RuneScape again in the middle of 2013, right before RuneSscape 3 came out. I've seen the best and worst of Runescape throughout the years, and everytime I think I quit, I always end up coming back, because you never really quit RuneScape.

I first stumbled across the fourms when I decided to follow RuneScape updates shortly after bonds came out. I started browsing through the various updates that didn't matter to me because I was F2P. Then I found the G&A section and other people's stories inspired me to create my own thread to get 99 Defense, and to record any other 99s I get while living RuneScape.

I got my first 99 on January 1, 2015, 9.5 years after I started living RuneScape. However, I've been playing more recently compared to the first 8 years of my time in Gielinor. This is the reason why I created this thread: to share my story of how I fail at RuneScape, and to post some achievements I would like to accomplish in the future and to motivate me to live Runescape more and achieve my goals.

The reason for taking too long is mostly because I didn't play a lot when I was younger and the lack of membership on this account. My parents discouraged me from playing games, but now that I'm no longer under their control, I can play whenever I want.

The purpose of this thread is to keep track of my progress on Runescape so that I know when I completed something, like getting a 99 in a skill. Also, I take a lot of breaks away from Runescape, so it will help me remember where I was before I quit.

I'm not your typical RuneScape player. I'm very conservative with my money here and use Bonds only in times I am sure I can make a profit. That means my membership is very spaced and often do not qualify for the Loyalty Program because of my discontinuous membership.

Here are some things I would like to buy with money and bonds:

All Preset Slots (4 left) - 3 bonds per preset, 12 bonds total
Action Bars (4 left) - 195 RC per bar, 780 RC

Note: 1 bond = 2 weeks p2p = 195 RC = 15 TH Keys

2018:
Here are my training methods:
Summoning: xp lamps (as always)
Mining: Runite ore and Coal
Herblore: xp lamps, Overloads
Thieving: Elves
Hunter: Grenwalls
Invention: Disassemble Augmented Armor

On my Ironman, I want to get every skill above 50 on both RS3 and OSRS. This achievement is probably easier on RS3 than in is on OSRS, but having Runescape on Mobile will make it easier. I also want the added challenge of getting the 99s in the same order as my main on both versions. I know OSRS is missing a few skills, so I'll skip them.

In RS3, I want at least 1 skill at level 90 for ports, either Runecrafting or Agility. OSRS should be easy on mobile. I would also like these skills:
Magic 55
Crafting 80
Smithing 80
Runecrafting 70 or 90
Agility 90
Construction 63
Divination 80
Invention

There's less to want in OSRS, so my priorities are limited to:
Magic 55
Firemaking 50

These are my long term goals in the order I would like to complete them in.
Taskmaster emote

Level 120 all skills (In the same order I got 99 in)
200M xp all skills! (In the same order I got 120 in)

Then I'll go to Old School Runescape and max out on there. Of course, this is only if I get 200M xp in the live game and got my trimmed Completionist Cape. It'll make my entire life to get this far, but I will do it. I'm only 22, so I got plenty of time.

After that, I'll do the same on HC Ironman. I don't care if I die on my HC Ironman. I'll play as a regular Ironman once I die, and I'm not going to create another HCIM account if I die.

OSRS and RS3 Ironman goals

In 2018, I'll be starting the Ironman challenge. This is so I have something to do on mobile, since I'l already close to maxed on this account. I'll start on HCIM, and if I die, I'll be just a regular ironman. I'll be ironman regardless. I've always wanted to try out OSRS too, but didn't want to start out new. Since mobile will bring in a bunch of new players, I would like to be a part of that.

I used to use this page to keep track of tasks, Comp Cape, Trimmed Comp Cape, and Master Quest Cape achievements, but thanks to the Achievements update, I no longer have to keep track of them here. Instead, I'll update this post and all following posts with the dates I completed interesting achievements.

Finally ended my summer membership. I'm not sure whether I'll get membership again this year since my remaining 99s are F2P skills. Maybe once in December so I can kill Araxxor and sell my Ascensions and use up all my Deathtouched Darts.

About me:

I started playing RuneScape on August 25, 2005. Back then, I was about to begin fifth grade. My friend Justin, an eight grader at that time, told me about it. My name was oie70 back then. The significance of that name was absolutely nothing of importance other than the vowels on the top row of the keyboard barring "u". I didn't think I was going to play RuneScape for long back then, because I saw online games as a short-term commitment when I was younger.

I remember being the noob I was back then and trying to make my name "oie". It was always the name I would use for my usernames. However this didn't work because usernames had to have 5 letters. First I created "oie25", which came up as one of the suggestions for usernames. Then I tried to log onto a members world, because I thought I was a member since I created an account. The concept of membership confused me at first. When the game didn't let me log in, then I created an "oie70". I tried getting into a members world again and it didn't work. Then I gave up and went to a free server. I was able to log in successfully and started playing on Tutorial Island.

At first, getting through Tutorial Island was very hard. It took me three days to get out of there. After that, I ended up on Lumbridge, wondering how to get back on the island.

I created multiple accounts to go through Tutorial Island again, but none of them stuck with me for long, and I always ended up with oie70 again.

At first, I didn't know how to train Defense, so it was my lowest combat skill. Then, Justin taught me how and soon, defense became my highest skill, at level 20.

My main training spot was at a house which had one man and woman east of the Lumbridge Castle. This is where I trained my melee stats until I was combat level 50. This was back in the days when the maximum combat level was 126.

I remember when Construction came out. It was something I really wanted to do, but couldn't because I wasn't a member. I also remember when Summoning came out, and the idea of it seemed interesting as well because your combat level could now be 138. However, I don't remember when Hunter came out. It probably seemed like a boring skill to me back then, and I was right about that. During my first few years, I didn't train my skills competitively as I do now.

I was going into fifth grade when school started, a few weeks after I made my Runescape account. A person sitting next to me, Paul, played Runescape too and I gave him my password. Throughout the year, we shared this interest together. We found one other person named Jeremy that also played as well. I knew everyone who played Runescape in fifth grade. A few of them scammed my account because of the password I gave Paul, but it didn't really affect me in any way. I was angry at these people, but I was also eager to get my items back. I lost everything but 3 items, although I don't remember what items they were.

Also, Zezima was a celebrity when I was little. Everyone claimed to know him or be related to him, and I just went along with it.

Some memories I had during my first 7 years of Runescape:

In 2005, I remember being taken advantage of while mining rune essence. A guy offered to take my runes free of charge, so I would stand there mining and giving him my rune essence. The only thing I gained was mining experience. He quit after 2 weeks, but returned the next year to do the same thing.

In 2006, I trusted someone with the "free gem cutting" scam. He did trade his cut gems for my uncut gems. I don't know why I was so eager to get my gems cut. Probably to sell it to an in-game store. But I learned that there are some people who actually cut gems. I also noticed a lot of free armor trimming scams too, but I never saw the point of getting my armor trimmed.

In 2006, I met three people from Egypt. One of them had a name which I later saw on TV, also from Egypt. This made me think they were the same person, and it would make sense. The other one, I betrayed, and I don't know what happened to the third one.

Justin, the friend that introduced me to Runescape, kept reappearing throughout the years, mainly in Septembers. The last time I ever saw him was probably in 2009. My classmates stopped playing Runescape.

I enjoyed playing the Safety and Security tutorials in F2P for some reason and would always hang out in those spots.

In 2012, I received my first taste of p2p and my life changed forever.

On 2012, I received an amazing offer. 2 weeks of free membership. This was great because I really liked RuneScape. I remember that during those two weeks, my goal was to do at least one quest a day, and train all my skills to level 15+. It ended up being 30+. Then, I stole my parent's credit card and got myself another 3 months of membership for the summer. They got mad at me.

I used this opportunity to do one quest everyday and get 40+ on ever p2p skill. It ended up being 50+.

I didn't focus much on Runescape at the beginning of 2013. I kept training and trying to reach small goals.

In July, the Battle of Lumbridge happened. This was the first World Event. I started to get a lot of xp from the event.

I thought about buying a month of membership in December during my college break in fall. However, that plan changed quickly because bonds came out. Now I can pay for my membership using Runescape money. I never had to spend another nickle on Runescape again. And I still didn't up to this day.

2014 was a disorganized year on Runescape for me. I focused on various goals at the same time, and completed none of them. I didn't even complete my 99 Defense goal from 2013.

I did get access to the Elf City this year, when it came out. This is an interesting story. When the quest came out, I finished it on the same day. Then I lost membership since my 3 month membership package ran out. During my time in f2p, Elf City came out. When I got p2p again using a bond, the first thing I did was run over to Elf City.

2015 started out with a 99. At 6 am, I woke up before heading to work at Target and killed my remaining red spiders for the 99 in Defense.

My second 99 was Fletching, on my birthday, March 28.

My third 99 was Agility, on no particularly special day.

I also completed every quest. I did it on the day Dimension of Disaster, Runescape's 200th quest, came out.

Near the second half of 2015, I found myself losing interest in Runescape. I began to ask myself, why does any of this matter? Why am I doing this?

However, I looked at this thread of goals in December and remembered that I had goals to complete in life and Runescape was one of them. I reached my goals of getting 90+ in all skills and 200M xp during the last few weeks of 2015 in order to say I completed them. I binged hard, which made me want to take a break from Runescape for a long time. When I say long, I mean really long... I still logged in weekly in order to do Agoroth.

In 2016, I didn't start playing Runescape until the summer, where I started working towards 99s. I eventually decided that the clan life wasn't for me, since it was so hard to fit in, so I left another clan and haven't joined a clan ever since.

In 2017, I tried to play as little as possible while obtaining all 99s in my remaining skills.

On January 1, 2018, I created an Ironman. I went straight to the limited time events that were available to me at that time. I received 50 Smithing and Crafting in the slowest but easiest way possible.

I've been updating this post for the past week because I wanted to make RuneScape a New Year's resolution. I know its been 2 years but I'd like to keep track of my progress on RuneScape to remind myself where I left off, so hopefully no one minds if I bump this to the top to prevent losing this thread.
