Hello everyone, in this thread, I will present all the changes that will take place in our team this month. Some of them will require the vote of the majority of us in order to happen (which won't necessarily follow the 51%+ mathematical rule), so you will be able to cast your vote on some of the changes that will be presented.

Please take your time to read all the posted information.

Note:
It will be required from all the team members who have been in the team before 15th of August 2016 to read this thread, and post in this thread to confirm having done so.

Note:
The first 2 changes will be Votable

1. The idea of having a non-mandatory off-site forum for our Team

Recently, myself and Maxi was brainstorming an idea which consist having an off-site forum for our team, where we can use it for various reasons, such as: Sharing/receiving tips for Raids (in form of guides/conversations), team changes announcements & discussions, absence notices, suggestions, and other reasons. This off-site forum would not be mandatory by any mean, rather, it would be a supporting feature for our team, that is optional to use.

However, we would not make this off-site forum unless at least more than half (51%+) of the team members use it (otherwise, it is a wasted effort), so this will be open to a poll. The poll will consist a question, and selecting one of its answers, as follows:

If Lucid Raid Team were to have a non-mandatory off-site forum, would you use it?

A. I would use it
(if you can specify for which, based on the earlier examples, that would be great, but that isn't required)

B. I would not use it

2. Requiring a pocket-slot item, which consist either: a non-superior damage boosting Scrimshaw, or a charged Bandos Book of War

As suggested by
Wise Thoth
in the previous thread, we don't currently have any pocket-slot strict requirement, and requiring that will boost the effectiveness of our Raids Kills further, except with the extra costs coming from either the Scrimshaws or the Bandos Books of War. Seeing as we currently require all augment-able items to be used in our Trips (which cost a considerable amount of money over time), I would not add this requirement until the majority of us supports it, which I choose for that to be 75% or more of us (3 quarters of the team). So please answer the following question with the answers provided to cast your vote:

Should non-superior Scrimshaw or Bandos Book of War become a requirement to our team?

A. Yes (specify which of the 2 items)

B. No

3. The adoption of the "Stun DPS" Method of killing Mirage phase at Yakamaru is still in the analytical stage, but the method isn't failing us currently

During the past few weeks we have been testing another method for finishing out Mirage Phase (where credit goes to
Wise Thoth
for suggesting i). That method consisted killing the Stun Pool quickly with 2 DPS'ers, during the same time the other DPS'ers are killing the Sharkando pool. So far, this method seemed to be effective, although, it holds different risks within it (which I'm yet to fully perceive yet), in comparison with the old method, but it has worked more often than not.

That said, for the time being, I have decided that we can continue using it, and as time goes on, we will have a bigger sample to rely on, to help us know for certain whether or not we should continue using it.

4. Allowing the use of Soul Split Prayer inside Beastmaster and Yakamaru

As most of you are aware, the rule which forbids the use of Soul Split has existed in our team for a long time (since the first day, actually). The reason behind it was that it is too risky to Soul Split when the gain outcome is too little. However, some have said otherwise, and it seem to be a rule which is generally controversial. Due to that I have decided to revisit that rule and allow the use of that prayer, under the condition it is not being used while being hit by anything, and it is not causing more disadvantage than advantage. This condition will of course, be maintained mainly on a case-by-case basis, so if someone is using that prayer incorrectly, they will be informed to either adjust its usage to be beneficial, or stop using it altogether, but the rest of the team will not be forbid from using it if someone was, due to improper usage.

It is important to note that using Soul Split during the puzzle before Yakamaru will not depend on not being hit by anything else, as the puzzle is an exceptional situation.

5. North Tanks to be required to use DPS gear after becoming experienced at that role

The different mirage phase completing method we're using right now will lower the pressure on the North Tanks, which means they will be receiving less hits, and are less likely to die, so once they become experienced at that role, using DPS gear will be optimal (and per this change: required).

(Credit goes to
Hero1
, for pointing this out to me)

6. Being mostly committed in attendance activity is required to be part of the team

This has been the case for a while now (which was mostly reflected in rejecting applicants who writes they will have casual activity), however, I need to make it very clear and communicated with you all.

What do I mean by "mostly committed" is not something I would like to make a fixed percentage number for, as that will be a setup-to-failure system, considering there will be times where we need to be more flexible. But what can you use as a guide, is that the majority of your attendance activity must be at least once every 2 days.

Fear not though
, taking fair breaks from the game/vacations, and the odd chance you can't attend will not make you leave the team, as long as that happens with temperance, and doesn't downgrade your "overall" activity class (since you have joined the team) from being mostly committed to something lower. Common sense will be used.

The reason of this change is to be concluded from my previous talks about recruitment, but in a nutshell, it is because: casual activity will inflate the overflow of looters/team members issue, so we need to eliminate it as much possible.

7. Bumping our recruitment thread (while recruitment is open) will become a factor which will increase your likelihood to not be asked to sit-out during the days of which we have more than 10 looters.

Though please keep in mind that other factors which increase your likelihood of not being asked to sit-out will play a significant role in the final outcome, and the lack of them will most likely end up with a low degree of immunity from being asked to sit-out. I will write down an almost exhaustive list of what the other factors are:

(Commitment to attendance during loot days & good behavior will go without saying so it will not be listed)

A. Helping during the days of which we have shortage (and the helper is unable to loot)
B. Taking the initiative in wanting to do/learn roles
C. Demonstrating the ability to improve and learn from mistakes while doing roles
D. Suggesting solutions to problems, and presenting them to the team leaders

8. Changes to Lieutenant rank classification and expectations

From now on, the Lieutenant Rank (bronze star) classification will be changed to be "Team Leader Assistant" instead of "Team Leader", and no longer will that rank require its holders to talk in team-speak by voice (They are welcome to, but are not required, while hosting kills). The reason of this change is to reduce pressure from any team member who offers helping with team leadership to not add many requirements to them so quickly. Any current Team Leader Assistant will be able to be promoted to Captain (Team Leader Rank) should they upkeep that extra expectations, which includes helping with calls on Team-speak, and eagerness to regularly host and lead trips.

9. Exiting the battle instance arena after killing Beastmaster, via group chat

From now on, we should start existing the Raids area through Group Chat, after killing Beastmaster (and without trying to find the right path for the puzzle). The reason of that is: While I still believe it is generally easy to find the right path towards Yakamaru Puzzle, it have been a common occurrence that a few of us get lost on where to go to find it. Of course, this can seemingly be solved by writing up the path, however, I have noticed that the written hints to where the path is correctly placed are more often than not "Confusing", so it doesn't always lead to everyone finding the path quickly.

Another reason for this change is because if any team member needed to exit the raids instance (often to swap magic spell book), when they try to get back, they will have to do that the long way, passing through Beastmaster path, so things become prolonged further. For these 2 reasons, I decided that we should no longer try to find the path towards Yakamaru Puzzle manually, but instead, leave the Raids Instance, and let the Team Leader re-assign the Boss encounter to be Yakamaru, where then we can enter instantly to the puzzle.

In order to leave the group, firstly, you need to have assigned the Group Chat Interface a hotkey, so you can easily and quickly bring it up to use. The way to assign it a hotkey would be to go to: Game Settings --> Controls Category --> Scroll down that category until you find "Windows and Navigation", and scroll down until you find "group members". My suggested hotkey is Shift + G

In the next post, I will add a screenshot of where you can find the option to hotkey Group Interface.

The leave button to leave the group while inside the Raids Instance will be viewed in the next screenshot below. Important note: You must only attempt to leave the group once, and only while being inside the battle arena instance. (spam leaving the group should only happen when we restart kills, and only if you're being attacked consistently).

Last but not least...

• Today, the 15th of August, 2016, our team have become 1 year old!

Today is the memory of when all of this have started. 15th of August, 2015, is when Lucid Raid Team was officially created. Sadly, I did not keep track of the timeline of events for our team to present here (I think that's a mistake which I do regret), however, based on the number of Raids Feats batches we have done successfully so far (three), our team is currently in the middle of its Fourth Age, with so many events and experiences that occurred, refined, and evolved our team to what it is today.

I would like to thank everyone who have stuck with us through our ups and downs and contributed towards our success. I hope the strength & longevity of our team to remains as best as it can be, which can only be achieved by everyone's help. Thank you all.

May this day be memorable. Happy anniversary to all Lucid Raid'ers!

I think the first idea would work well and I for one would use it and read peoples tips so I can improve. This idea could either go on the current forums or a third party. I believe it would be a good idea to have action bar suggestions and perk suggestions for people to use when tanking. ( I know you give action bars out anyway) This might encourage some people to try the role and also increase success rates.

For the pocket slot Idea I personally wouldn't like it to be added, this is because I simply don't see how useful the items are to justify their cost myself, however I would use the most effective one if the change was made, over my current blood essence. Would tanks still be able to use the defenders insignia or maybe the aegis blood essence?

The changes that have been made a great namely the new rank changes. I'm up for bumping the forums; I don't currently on any forum but will make an attempt to bump the raids as well as my clans.

Happy Birthday Lucid Raids :)

Have fun skilling and killing!

Read :)

1) I would use it to find information and make suggestions if things needed to be discussed but I wouldn't check it too often.

2) I feel the team would benefit from the scrimshaw/bandos book, i don't feel strongly either way to either of them but one would be useful I guess to improve. My vote can be yes.
