Remove the slayer master combat level requirement.

Im cb lvl 74, with 99def, 99 hp, 99 prayer, 99 sum.
I killed a QBD with food to spare, I can dual 138's and win.
And for the fun of it I just killed a Ripper dinosaur as I walked to the slayer master just to have her tell me I need to get stronger.

I would like to have the game recognize that combat level is not everything, and the game includes item and perks to play like this yet is stopped countless times for using them.

So i would like the slayer master to still have slayer requirements but not the useless combat level requirement. Thanks all is ask for.

But I might be missing a thing here so if someone can explane why its there and give a good reason I might be willing to accept it.

well done treacle

but no support. requirements are there for a reason. for training levels

whats next??

remove defence level for wearing armour...

its exactly the same principle here. those slayer masters that assign you higher levels you need to work towards with combat level

its your choice to limit your combat level. when you decided to do this you accepted you cant do all content. including all slayer masters. if you cant hack your own limitations then that limitation isnt for you

Support and if your doing it that way their should be strong none support from Jagex but still allow the play to move ahead, if it ever got to hard they could follow the Jagex guild of doing it with combat. Slayer is not combat but has a linking to combat.

Support. Make slayer masters have a combat level recommendation rather than a requirement.
Slayer level should be what determines whether you can damage a slayer monster or not. Combat levels determine how much damage you can deal or tank etc.

The world wakes quest used to require 100 combat. Smoking kills used to require 90 combat. Jagex changed those requirements to recommendations, so surely the same thing can be done with slayer masters. I don't see this change having a negative impact.

While I'm not opposed to this, I just don't think it would happen.

Some of the creatures that are given out as tasks hit like a mack truck. And for players who might not have the def lvl, the defensive gear, the prayers, or simply the expertise of playing, would run the risk fighting against something that is well out of their weight class.

It's kinda like why devs removed the 200 combat level mechanic they used for a while (2 + def + combat stat, NPCs were similarly weighted).
A level 200 player might find a Level 70 or Level 100 creature to hit a lot harder than their level would suggest. Nex was rated as a combat level of like 210, which didn't reflect her true difficulty level (for 2012-2013).

In addition, players have had means for a while now to train Slayer without actively going into combat (so yes, you can have 99/120 Slayer and be Level 3 combat)

That you were able to kill a ripper dino was a good thing. But could you survive a Ripper Demon's mechanics?
That's probably an example why they will continue to have the combat levels.

But having "suggested" combat levels would be an acceptable medium.

I agree with Stoic n Vain, to make it a suggested or recommanded combat level, and a warning before getting a new task from a master that they might risk death, like Deltaslug said.
