Taking it out of the wilderness will not stop the bots, in fact, it will make it so they aren't being killed anymore and can farm even more efficiently. I don't think it's a good bandaid fix, personally. Moving it out of the wild would also remove the sole purpose of the content.

Yes, their current efforts have not proven successful. Don't worry, I'm working on a solution.

I'm suggesting removing it out of the wilderness by completely removing it for now until a better fix is doable that works better. That will work 100%.

My idea is still the best,

Add a I'm not a robot image grid chapta before converting the energy.

Players should pull guthix'es lever and solve an 8x8 matrix image grid that displays various objects from runescape.

For example:
Select images with only bears and trees.
Select images with dragons breathing fire.

and fill the rest of the grid images with random images around runescape.
This doesn't take much extra time for a real player.

This is also easy to implement ingame for jagex as this does not take an enormous time to develop.

This is so simple for humans to solve but impossible for bots.
Because image recognition technology is not that far in recognizing real stuff in a video game.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but honestly, at this point, I feel like it's time to bring back Revenants into the Wilderness proper. Not just in the volcano, either, but in general. A lot of the Wilderness activities are incredibly low-risk on the lower population servers these days unless you happen to be a HCIM (and, let's be honest here, if you're going into the Wilderness as an HCIM you know the risks)

In my limited experience as a botkiller, the bots have no idea what to do when their pathing puts them in the path of the WildyWyrm-- I'll occasionally go and intentionally activate the mound along the route to some of the non-moving bankers, and I won't see a bot actually make it through for days on end, until someone kills it or it despawns. Yes, the Wyrm is strong enough to kill them instantly, so that's an outlier, but still.

Having the Volcano be a common spawning point would make gathering the energy a higher-risk endeavour, with more bots getting killed off by Vampyre and below Revanants (or hey, if they bring back the old "Revs use the same level rules as players" from the old days, then they could even get smoked by Dragons and Knights because carrying Cursed means the level rules are negated) than getting away unscathed. The Wilderness should be a high-risk area anyway, a place that's constantly dangerous even beyond the occasional griefer/PKer going after a skiller just for "the lulz".

Honestly it would solve a lot of problems with the Wilderness in general, but what's relevant to this thread is that it will reduce the amount of botted Cursed Energy to a trickle. Will it make it less lucrative for actual players too? Yeah, probably, but honestly, the Wilderness isn't supposed to be easy. You want the extra rewards from Wilderness activities, you should be prepared to have to work for it.

And we can keep Forinthry around as a place to reliably fight them. Not really relevant to the point at hand, but just saying.

I don't like the idea.

Its by far creative as some have suggested - I suggested pickpocketing players back in RSC! And even than, it was not even my creative idea, before run escape, I played ultimata online and yes, we could pickpocket items from other players.

The thing I dislike the most about ur idea, is that, we're in the wilderness etc, some noob can pickpocket me but I can't 1 hit KO him? That's pretty dumb. If a dude tries to picket me he should skull for sure (not a regular skull, a skull that let's the pickpocket victim to pk the fool.

In summary, I don't want a single level 3 noob running their mouth etc. Being the big tough guy, at the "wilderness volcano" vs a clan of maxed. That's ludicrous. Imagine, a clan of 30*138 maxed accounts at the volcano. Along comes a level 3 that just pick pockets everyone. Who's the star of the volcano when all eyes are on the level 3. I don't want to look at a level 3 at all, go back to f2p and l2p. Don't force any of us to look at, and even bow to them in the wilderness!

I like it how it is now.

That solution is VERY different.

One solution involves pick pocketing being implemented, Stella's solution requires no stupid pick pocketing..

Ure acting like everyone that harvests cursed are bots. Wtf should I, not only havc to deal with level 3 punks as well as a capcha to prove I'm not a bot.

The originally suggested captcha idea is worse than the OP suggestion which I hate!
