Hey,

So about a month ago I bought a new laptop (HP 15-bs101na), and almost every time I play rs on it the screen randomly freezes. I'm still able to click to move or press inventory items/ use abilities/etc and hear game sounds, but I don't see any of what's happening. The screen doesn't go black, just "pauses". I have an example here

(no sound because I had music playing and twitch removed it, but I could hear myself dying at the time). I've tried leaving it to see if it would unfreeze on its own but it doesn't. I have to resort to closing the client and reopening to get it to work again. I have the latest graphics drivers and I didn't have this problem on my previous HP laptop, so I'm not sure what could be causing this.

I've tried reinstalling only the cache and then the full game but neither solved the problem. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Type of client used: NXT 2.2.4
Operating System (Windows Version, Mac OS Version, Linux Version): Windows 10 Home
Laptop/Desktop: Laptop
Processor: Intel i7-8550U
Graphics Card: Intel UHD Graphics 620
RAM: 8GB

Same exact problem bro. I wrote about this happening to me on one of my forums. I can be anywhere in the game doing anything and it will randomly freeze when it wants to and I have to keep closing out the window and reloading the NXT Client to login and play again. You ain't the only one, a lot of people are having issues. Hope this gets fixed soon.

Yeah it's pretty annoying, happens all the time while I'm bossing.

Just tried to uninstall HP's drivers and install them straight from Intel as explained here, but that didn't work either

Edit: Happens regardless of VSync option too

All of these issues sound like an error from your local machine, there is not a lot wrong with the actual client, I've tried a few machines and everything seems to be ok. It could however be another 3rd party application or user setting that's causing these issues so I would like you to create another user account and see if you still get the issue on there, follow the steps in the link below to do that.

I made a new admin user account and didn't change any user settings on other than the display scaling option from 125% to 100%, but the freezing is still happening. Any other suggestions? Barooo!

Likely to be a client-end issue. I've had occasional sudden freezes on my laptop (i5 7200U with Intel HD 620) when I tested. There's no pattern to the freezing. It's 100% random (which makes diagnosing this particular problem much harder). I can go hours without a freeze and then all of a sudden it would happen. Performance on machine itself is as expected. There's no abnormalities that would trigger a freeze. It has to be a client problem. This happens on a clean Windows 10 build with no manufacturer third-party software interfering.

My main PC doesn't get this problem so it's only affecting select machines. Cause is unknown right now.

There's similar reports elsewhere from others suffering from this type of freeze. Not much you can do on your end (seems like you've exhausted most options anyway).

may be a problem with intel u series
mine is included in compare
laptop and intel processor/gfx

i have the same problems , which make it nearly impossible to do bossing like telos, rax and raids. or i die alot cause i freeze and cant tele out. Games keep playing screen just frozen.

I dont have this problems on java client, so it must be an nxt client vs Intell problem ?

I really hope to see this solved soon , as bossing cost me more on death cost then it makes me atm.

Yeah.. Mine freezes a lot at those bosses too so I stopped doing them. I tried vorago yesterday and it froze 4 times in hardmode. Really annoying for any group boss, luckily you can x-log at vorago and usually survive. It's been happening a lot during slayer, but I guess that's fine since you can still tele away with things like max cape and then x-log to fix it Barooo!
