Total raised so far this year!

From all of us at Jagex; ,The Prince’s Trust ,CPSL Mind and YMCA Right Here, we want to thank you all for your generosity and support throughout 2017, and give you an update on our charitable giving and support.
So far this year, you have helped us to raise a phenomenal
£219,906.65 ($292,475.84)
so far this year – smashing our £150,000 $199,500) target. WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!!

New charity initiative: Give as you pay
As of Monday 4th December, we’ll be trialling a new initiative that allows you to round up payments to the next whole value, should you wish to – with the round up excess going to our partner charities. All those pennies add up!
We’ll be testing this out for a few weeks to get your feedback before making any widespread, permanent changes. This means that, for the meantime, only some of you will have the option to give using this method. For those who do, it will be completely opt-in and transparent: if you don’t tick the box, no extra funds will be donated, and how much you’re giving will be made clear in the basket summary. Here’s what you can expect to see:

What’s been happening since last June???
The RuneScape community and Jagex staff have collectively raised an incredible
£94,577.34 ($129,156.71)
since last June through a ton of fundraising activities. In addition, we have donated over 600 hours of Jagex staff time and skills to a host of initiatives to support our charity partners.

We organised a Jagex Hackathon (HACK X) on World Mental Health Day to provide our skills, knowledge and time on key projects for CPSL Mind & YMCA ‘Right Here’. Around 20 members of staff took part from Web Development, Graphics, Marketing, Community Management, Player Support, the Video team and Creative Services. During the day we:
• Shot video footage for a YMCA promotional video
• Designed a series of poster concepts for CPSL Mind’s Stop Suicide Campaign
• Helped the YMCA create a six-month social media plan
• Made a raft of improvements to the YMCA Right Here website

A quick word of thanks:
“THANK YOU so much for everything you are doing to support our work. Your creative team were just phenomenal. They grasped very quickly what we wanted to achieve and they understood and asked all the right questions in regards to the complexities of public messaging around the subject of mental health. They have come up with so many usable ideas we are truly spoilt for choice” CPSL Mind.

Bake off!!!

Once again, Jmods from across the studio baked some amazing cakes, with all proceeds going to our charitable fund. Check these out:

Halloween!!!
This was the best Halloween in the Studio - ever!!! We had (more) cakes, fancy dress, bush-tucker challenge, Halloween quiz, Sugar donut challenge and more, and all of it in aid of charity!!!

RuneFest!!!
All three of our charity partners were at RuneFest and took part in Hunt the Jmod. This resulted in a steady stream of supporters asking questions about their work and the partnership with Jagex, highlighting the importance of our focus on mental health awareness and campaigns for young people.

Gielenorian Giving II

Our friends in the Live Events Team created another wonderful in game event and Cape, with 100% of the money raised through purchases going to our charities. Thank you to everyone who got involved and gave their support!!!

What are the charities doing with the funds the RuneScape Community and Jagex Staff have raised?

• Training all 320 frontline Prince’s Trust staff in Mental Health First Aid
• Paying for counselling services at the Fairbridge centre to provide 121 support
• Funding Get Started in Games Design course for 15 young people to skill up

• We are the largest corporate supporter of CPSL Mind’s Stop Suicide campaign, contributing almost a third of the campaign spend
• Creating marketing materials to raise awareness
• Funding their Stop Suicide media campaign

• Purchasing media equipment so YMCA volunteers can create their own campaign materials
• Promotion of Find Get Give campaign
• Funding research to support vulnerable, young, homeless people struggling with their mental health

What’s in store for 2018?

We’re working on plans for next year, which we’ll share once we’ve agreed them with our charity partners. In the meantime, please consider rounding up your purchase when the option becomes available. Every essential penny will be put towards the amazing work done by these incredible charities, supporting young people with their mental health.

Thank you!!! We couldn't do this without your incredible support!!!

Feel free to comment away, ask questions, or make suggestions about what you'd like to see from Jagex Charitable Giving in 2018.
