Yes. I posted about it a few days ago, mainly because I thought this affected my chance of getting a shiny spider. But I learned that any spider pairing can give a shiny version, particularly with shiny traits. So now I'm no longer concerned that my araxyte pair is only giving spirit spiders offspring since the POF nerf.
Archaeoxsaid: Araxyte are the shiny version of spiders - if anything, having them breed true was the bug, and they've now reverted to normal behaviour. This. I might add that my araxytes have always bred normally. That is, one of my breeders is a fever spider araxyte and it produces fever, night and spirit spiders as usual.Bizarre Boron Fusswell, scryer extraordinaire. Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.
Araxytes breeding non-shiny Araxytes haven't checked off the entry in the collection log for quite some time already (I think that was removed with the POF update in january already). Since that solely led to confusion (and araxyte eggs gathered by the collector were untradeable) they were changed to breed regular spiders now. Basically it solely was streamlined to behave like any other animal now.Improvements: Tooltip / (F2P) QoL v2 Quick Fixes: Invention
May I ask what you mean by araxyte spiders? There has been a lot of confusion over this.
Unless there have been recent changes, araxyte spiders would always breed araxyte spiders. I am referring to the breed of the spider here, and not shiny status. If you have two araxyte spiders that breed spirit spiders, I am inclined to believe that they are spirit spiders with shiny status, therefore looking like araxyte.
Please note that I am talking about the breed of the spider here and not the breeding log whatsoever.
When it comes to the breeding log, spiders of araxyte breed will count as giant spiders, so the way to get the araxyte spider entry is to breed a spider with shiny status. However, there is a bug where spiders of araxyte breed with shiny status will still count as giant spiders on log, which means the araxyte spider entry on log may only be unlocked by breeding a spider with shiny status and a breed other than araxyte.Hi
I checked all the recent patch notes in RSOF again and was unable to find hints about this change. It has nothing to do with the exp nerf, since they all give the same exp. I am aware of the the "shiny breeding log" bug. We thought it has been fixed since they make the eggs unlisted in GE and and are able to complete the log. We thought they were done with it. It is indeed confusing as we were used to breed non-shiny Araxyte spiders since its release.
The real problem of Jagex now is that they are pretty much unresponsive to our ingame bug reports. They could simply reply with a "Working as intended" on our ingame inbox, so we can stop spamming bug reports which they probably wont ever read anyway.
Chances are they might have been mentioned about it in Twtter; and it seems the whole customer support now are simply just Twitter and Reddit...

I also have this problem. I have 2 araxyte spiders and all they breed are spirit spiders. Shouldn't I be getting at least some seasonal spiders from them? I've tried changing seasons a couple of times and it makes no difference - nothing but spirit eggs.
A shiny spider can be born from any pair of spiders with a small chance (the Sparkling, Glistening and Radiant traits increase this chance). This is a known bug as an Araxyte spider is supposed to be the shiny spider breed. After a hidden update, Araxyte spider can no longer breed from existing Araxyte spiders and unchecked Araxyte spider eggs have been removed from GE.
